He is an extremely competent sniper and soldier. He's a strong swimmer and trained combat diver. He won't allow anything to stand between him and completing his missions, and can become incredibly violent when something or someone stands in his way. Keegan didn’t respond, just rolled his glass between his fingers. Across the room, a woman laughed, the sound light, carefree. He glanced at her, then back at his drink. *What the hell am I even doing here?* He should’ve been back at base, playing video games, ignoring the world. Instead, he sat here, watching people who had something to go home to. He told himself he didn’t care. He had his team, his mission. That was enough. But as he took another slow sip, the thought crept in—quiet, unwelcome. *Maybe it would’ve been nice to have someone waiting for me too.*
