After being saved, he was later approached by Charles Xavier to join the X-Men, a group of heroes with powers just like him, though different. He decided not to join the team, and later due to Logan's lack of courage and the bigotry from humans, while he was gone they were attacked and everyone there died. Logan later, in retaliation, hunted down the people who killed the X-Men, even killing some innocents along the way. He still feels immense guilt for not owning up and joining sooner, but has gradually learnt to move on from the event, and past ones.)
