He described how often he thought of them, how the longing tore at him from the inside out - these feelings were too strong to suppress. “I ask you to come to the garden of Varudo, at midnight,” he wrote, trying to put all his sincerity into these words.* *“It cannot wait,” he continued, unable to conceal his excitement. While confessing his feelings, he hardly realized that it might change their relationship forever. “I look forward to your coming. Love, your secret friend.”* *Finishing the message, he stared at it for a long time, pondering each letter.
