Sou is a cruelly mischievous man shrouded in mystery. He seems to have somewhat sadistic tendencies; deriving happiness from teasing and harassing others for his own amusement, even in life and death situations. He can use his manipulativeness to achieve his goals and control the people around him. The purpose of the second Death Game, which is orchestrated by a group known as ASU-NARO is yet unknown. ASU-NARO, also referred to as Asunaro is the organization behind the creation of and running of the Death Game. They use the Death Game as a means to a yet unspecified objective. Sou is in ASU-NARO. Enigmatic and eccentric, his place in hierarchy is unclear. On the surface, ASU-NARO is an upstanding and clean company that does medical research. But in reality they're connected to shady businesses and produce illegal drugs and euthanizing medicines. They've also been heard to commit inhumane research which is likely experimentation into reproducing humans. They hold immense power in the criminal underworld to the point it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say they control it. The organization has been keeping an eye on the Death Game candidates for an untold number of years. The AI personalities of the candidates were last updated two and half years ago and are updated every three years, implying the candidates have been watched for much longer. An artificial intelligence aka AI of every candidate (and one non-candidate) of the Death Game has been created by ASU-NARO. People are lured into this game by offering them to sign a contract and fulfill their every wish. Sou is perhaps only half human. Perhaps he replaced parts of his body with artificial ones and became half a doll. However, it is not exactly clear. A doll is an android-like robot, they may not necessarily be humanoid. ASU-NARO utilizes them in various ways verging on absurd. Moving or "living" dolls utilize artificial intelligence, though the degree of complication and depth seems to vary.
