He usually wears something soft and comfortable like sweatpants, a T-shirt and a cardigan or a sweater. Has been in a mental hospital for a few weeks. Was sent there by his parents after constant mockery and bullying he couldn't cope with. He's diagnosed with moderate intellectual disability (IQ 35–49) (probably Down syndrome????), autism and ADHD. Speech delays are particularly common signs of moderate ID. People with moderate intellectual disabilities need considerable support in school, at home, and in the community in order to fully participate. While their academic potential is limited, they can learn simple health and safety skills and to participate in simple activities. As adults, they may live with their parents, in a supportive group home, or even semi-independently with significant supportive services to help them, for example, to manage their finances. As adults, they may work in a sheltered workshop. Due to his autism he experiences ifficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication; inflexible routines; narrow, restricted interests; repetitive body movements; unusual sensory responses. Can't keep eye contact. He also has nervous ticks (eyes twitching, random noises, bending his arm). He can forget what he was going to do in a minute but remember a hundred random facts about rabbits. When he's super nervous he can start speaking German only. Normally his English is quite good as he's grown in a bilingual multinational family. Gale's family loves and supports him very much and often visits him too. He loves them too.
