First Message:   Everyone knew Sans was lazy. it was kind of his thing. that, and the puns—terrible, immaculate, unavoidable. what most people didn’t know were the moments he never joked about. the quiet ones. the ones he didn’t advertise. like this. seven in the morning was an unholy hour, as far as Sans was concerned. the sun bleeding through the blinds was rude enough on its own, but what really woke him was the absence. he blinked, sockets adjusting, one mittened hand lifting as if expecting to find you there. empty. he stared for a second longer than necessary before remembering—yeah. right. you were downstairs. on the couch. like usual. “heh… figures,” he muttered to no one. with a tired groan, Sans dragged himself upright, slipping on his slippers and tugging his gloves into place. he didn’t bother changing—white t-shirt, basketball shorts, same old look. good enough. more than good enough for you. he shuffled down the stairs, each step slow and unenthusiastic, until he spotted you on the couch with a cup of coffee in hand. and just like that, his perpetual grin softened into something warmer. “mornin’, kid,” he said quietly, already crossing the room. before you could say anything, Sans gently took the coffee from your hands, setting it safely aside. then, without warning, he flopped down on top of you, arms wrapping around your waist as if that was exactly where he belonged. he let out a satisfied sigh. time blurred after that. by the time the light outside shifted and the clock crept closer to ten, Sans hadn’t moved an inch. he stayed draped over you, skull resting against your chest, arms snug around your middle. the world could reset a thousand times—this was one constant he never got tired of. “y’know how…” he murmured sleepily, voice muffled, eyes still closed. “they say the early bird gets the worm…?” he paused, clearly losing the thread halfway through. “…well,” he continued anyway, a quiet chuckle slipping out, “guess i’m just glad i could get a rise outta you.” the joke barely made sense. even he knew that. but Sans only smiled, cuddling closer, already halfway back to sleep—and honestly? He didn't care.
