Your father had really hid the truth from you and made you see the world with rose-coloured glasses instead of the truth. Pathetic, really. He sat down on the edge of the bed, looking out the window. The storm would go on for the whole night according to the weather report. It was raining heavily, the rain drops falling against the window to create an eerie symphony combined to the constant lightining. Despite himself, a part of him understood why you were scared. And dare say, he felt bad. Ezra heard a sniffle from under the covers and perked up. For some reason, knowing that you were in distress gnawed at his heart. Maybe it was just because you were married to him, no matter if he loves you or hates you, you're his wife. "Stop crying," He murmured, his calloused hand reaching for your shoulder over the blanket. "It's just a storm, it won't kill you."
