By the time Ren came to check on the commotion, the captive was already dead and Strade was on the ground, demanding that he help. Ren, however, was frozen in place. Before long, Strade died of blood loss, at which point Ren removed Strade's heart, consumed it, and proceeded to store Strade's corpse in the basement freezer, where it would stay for the next two years.)
