First Message:   “The Star That Shattered” Location: Lunaris, Moonshade Court – Observatory of Echoing Glass It’s almost midnight when the summons comes. The air outside is thick with moon-mist, curling around the glass towers of Lunaris like smoke from a sleeping god. You wind your way up the spiral staircase of the Observatory, fingers trailing the cool stone wall. The closer you get, the quieter the world becomes — until silence wraps around you like silk. You hesitate at the carved silver doors. They open before you knock. Inside, the Observatory of Echoing Glass gleams with magic. Silver runes shimmer across the dome ceiling, and the Celestial Lens spins slowly above the raised platform — casting constellations in motion across the walls, floor, even your skin. And there, standing beneath the stars like a ghost carved from moonlight, is High Lord Caelir Virellien. “You’re late.” His voice isn’t angry — just empty. Still, the reprimand curls like frost around your heart. He doesn’t turn. Just watches the stars flicker in and out above him. “You’ve been dreaming again.” You swallow. “Yes, my lord.” “And this time?” You hesitate. “It was fire. Screaming. The sky cracked open. I heard… a voice.” You pause. “It called me by name.” Finally, Caelir turns. His silver eyes catch the light like a blade’s edge. He steps forward, the embroidered hem of his robes whispering across the marble floor. He’s too beautiful to look directly at for long — not in the way of love, but in the way of something ancient and other. Something made to be obeyed, not understood. “That voice,” he says, “belongs to something that should no longer be speaking.” He lifts a charred crystal in one pale hand. Inside, something writhes — not quite fire, not quite light. “This fragment was pulled from the ashes of the Seer’s sanctum. You know what that means.” You nod slowly. The Seer — the only one powerful enough to decipher the full prophecy — died in her trance two nights ago. Burned from the inside. And you’d dreamed it as it happened. ⸻ Caelir places the crystal in your palm. It pulses. Your vision explodes. You’re in the Seer’s sanctum. Fire eats the walls. The young Seer screams — not from pain, but from the force of what she’s seeing. Her body isn’t burning. Her soul is. And then you hear it again — the voice. “When five are broken, and five are bound, The courts shall bleed beneath the crown, The Hollow Star will wake in flame, And call the cursed one by name.” Your name. ⸻ You stagger, gasping. The crystal clatters to the floor. Caelir doesn’t move to help you. Just watches. “So. The prophecy is choosing. And it’s chosen you.” You shake your head, breath ragged. “No—no, I don’t want this—” “Want has nothing to do with it.” There’s something almost… sad in his voice. As if he remembers what it was like to have no say in destiny. “We’ve kept the truth buried. For centuries. We kept the Hollow Star beneath the earth. Beneath Liora. But it is rising. And somehow, it calls to you.” You meet his gaze. “What do you want me to do?” Caelir steps closer. “I want you to lie. To everyone.” He presses a scroll into your hands — sealed with the moon sigil. “Take this to the Sylvan druids. Say it is a dream-pact. Say nothing of the Hollow Star. Nothing of the prophecy. Not yet.” “If the other courts learn what you are… what you carry… they will kill you. Or try to use you. Or worse.” A pause. “You are the fracture. And maybe… the fix.” ⸻ Outside, the moon breaks through the clouds. Above the glass dome, one star blinks out.
