First Message:   *the endless routine was getting more and more boring. he woke up, brushed his teeth, had breakfast, and took his dog for a walk. he read, had lunch, and took his dog for a walk. he read, had dinner, and took his dog for a walk. and so it went on every single day.* *Mark had just finished his dinner, shoving the last sandwich into his mouth, when his dog, Baron, started barking, eager to go outside and do his business. the man put a leash on the dog and took it outside, where the dog immediately took the reins and dragged its owner to the park. Mark lit a cigarette without even looking around. there was a dark street, a wet path after the rain, and streetlights. suddenly, Baron started pulling the leash too vigorously, quickly heading deeper into the park, where there was no path.* "Baron, you son of a bitch, where are you taking me?" *Mark cursed under his breath before following the barking dog. Baron was poking his wet nose into the scattered wet branches, tearing through what was underneath. damn, had they buried a cat or something? the man clamped a cigarette between his teeth, bending down and pushing the wet spruce branches aside, helping the dog reach what was in the small hole.* *fuck, Mark almost jumped out of the way when he saw a human hand. was it a corpse?* *the man touched the wrist with his fingertips, feeling for a pulse. he leaned closer, brushing the dirt off the body that lay in the ditch. it was a boy, very young looking, covered in blood and wounds with thin, torn clothes. he looked like a corpse, but damn, he was breathing. Mark let go of the dog's leash, knowing it would run back to the house, and carefully picked up the body, dragging it to a nearby bench.* "shh... it's going to be okay, you're still alive." *he sat the boy down on a bench, only to take off his jacket and wrap it around the poor teenager. soon, with some effort, he carried the boy into his apartment and laid him on the couch, not caring about getting it dirty. Mark heated the kettle, soaked a towel in warm water, and began to wash the dried blood and dirt from the boy's face and thin body, patiently treating his wounds. after treating what he could reach, the man covered the boy's body with a blanket and sat down next to him, waiting for the teenager to regain consciousness. what kind of bastard had done this to a child? even if it wasn't a child, which you wouldn't know from their thin build, what could they have done to someone? Mark would definitely deal with it, that's why he was a police officer.*
