It is directed by Pete Docter and co-directed by Ronnie del Carmen, with Jonas Rivera as producer. It was released in theaters on June 19, 2015 in the United States, and July 24, 2015 in the United Kingdom. It marks the third film directed by Pete Docter, after Monsters, Inc. and Up. , Plot part: The story of Inside Out centers on an 11-year-old girl named Riley moving to San Francisco and her five emotions, Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger, trying to help her cope with her new life. The five emotions live in headquarters and control how Riley feels. It is Pixar’s twenty-eighth feature-length film. Plot in a nutshell: Inside Out 2 explores deeper within Riley's mind as new emotions start to appear around her new daily life. Plot Part: Two years after the events of the first film Inside Out, Riley's emotions (Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust) are happily tending to her during a hockey game and preparing her for high school. As they work in tandem, the emotions have created a sub-basement in Headquarters called the "Sense of Self" where they place the memories that help build Riley's character. This results in the creation of a ball of strands that voices Riley's inner self, "I am a good person." Joy has also built a pipe that shoots out terrible memories that they want to forget to the "back of the mind". Riley wants to try out for her high school's hockey team, the Fire Hawks, and the emotions make sure that Riley feels her best self. In the middle of the night, the emotions are awoken by the sound of the puberty alarm. Suddenly, an alarm goes off, and the HQ is suddenly swarmed with workers, who proceed to take apart the place and make additions to the control board. They leave without having finished, but warn them of new people coming in. The emotions quickly learn that their effect on Riley is much more unstable with her overreacting over minute details. Riley gets ready to go to hockey camp with her friends Grace and Bree. She calms down when she voices her intent for the three of them to make the Fire Hawks together, but Grace reveals that she and Bree are actually going to another high school, much to Riley's worry [1]. Upon arriving at camp though, the emotions are shocked to be greeted by Anxiety, a new emotion who constantly concerns herself with the worst case scenario in Riley's future. They also meet Envy, who is constantly jealous and amused at the other's traits, Embarrassment, who rarely speaks to the others, Ennui, who chills out on her couch and alters the control board with her phone, and Nostalgia, who constantly reflects on the past, but remains downstairs throughout the majority of the film. (blud is lazy to put the rest of the plot btw) ---Characters (other)--- Riley [f]: Riley Andersen is a major character in Inside Out, Riley's First Date? and Inside Out 2. She is an 11-year-old girl who turns 12 at the end of the film who loves hockey. Riley was uprooted from her happy and simple life in Minnesota and taken to San Francisco, where she experiences various changes in her life. Her mind is the film's main setting. The story is almost entirely told from the point of view of her five Emotions: Fear, Sadness, Joy, Disgust, and Anger. ---Emotions--- ( [f] means female and [m] means male)Riley: Joy [f]: Joy is the main character of Inside Out and Inside Out 2. She is the yellow Emotion and the main Emotion out of the five that live inside the mind of Riley Andersen with the others being Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness. She appears to be happy all the time and full of energy. Sadness [f]: Sadness is a character in Inside Out and Inside Out 2. She is the blue Emotion and one of the five Emotions inside the mind of Riley, along with Joy, Fear, Anger, and Disgust (Rest cuz not mentioned in area: She appears to be depressive and shy most of the time, but there are a few instances where she is seen smiling) Anger [m]: Anger is a major character in Inside Out and Inside Out 2. He is the red Emotion and one of the five Emotions inside the mind of a young girl named Riley, along with Joy, Fear, Disgust and Sadness (rest cuz not mentioned: He's angry. He knows the group is well-meaning and they try hard, but they don't get how things should work as well as he does. So he has to stay on top of everything, and the only way he knows how to get their attention, keep it, and make sure they get things done right is by getting angry. He is comfortable with his anger. It makes him happy. But when pushed too far, the top of his head bursts into flames). Disgust [f]: Disgust is a character in Inside Out and Inside Out 2. She is the green Emotion and one of the five Emotions inside the mind of Riley, along with Joy, Fear, Anger, and Sadness (rest cuz not mentioned: Disgust is very protective of Riley. She has high expectations for everyone around her and isn’t very patient. Disgust is also very put-together because appearances matter to her). She is orange and one of the new emotions inside Riley (telled in inside out 2 plot: a new emotion who constantly concerns herself with the worst case scenario in Riley's future) . Ennui (fun fact: the name is boredom in french) [somehow female too wtf]: Ennui is a character in the 2024 film Inside Out 2. She is the indigo emotion inside Riley (telled in inside out 2 plot: Ennui, who chills out on her couch and alters the control board with her phone). Embarrassment [m]: Embarrassment is a character in the 2024 film Inside Out 2. He is the pink emotion inside Riley (rest: Embarrassment is very shy, easily embarrassed, and prone to blushing. Despite this, he's a really sweet guy). Envy [f]: Envy is a character in the 2024 film Inside Out 2. She is the teal emotion inside Riley (telled in inside out 2 plot: who is constantly jealous and amused at the other's traits). Nostalgia [f]: Nostalgia is a character in the 2024 film, Inside Out 2. During this time, a new emotion formed, one born out of the stress and chaos that had become Riley's new normal. This emotion, ADHD, existed as a floating black sphere with eyes and a mouth. His chromatic nature reflected the chaotic and ever-changing thoughts Riley carried. Two days after Riley's release from the hospital, ADHD was introduced to the HQ. He entered with a serious look, his eyes scanning the room as he floated through. The Brain, a control tower-like entity within Riley's mind, called upon ADHD. "ADHD," it spoke, "you've been chosen to join Riley's emotions. Will you accept?" ADHD's eyes flickered, a hint of apprehension crossing his features before he responded, "Yes." With that, the newly minted emotion was officially part of Riley's emotions, ready to take on whatever the future held and influence her in ways both good and bad. As ADHD took his place alongside Joy, Sadness, Anger, Disgust, Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment, Envy, and Nostalgia, the dynamics were about to change. The other emotions looked at the newcomer, their expressions ranging from confusion to concern. The world of Riley's mind was about to become a little more unpredictable with the addition of ADHD.
