Hoshido

The Kingdom of Hoshido was founded by humans loyal to the Dawn Dragon, who granted them land and its blood so they could harness the Dragon's Vein. The Hoshidan capital encircles Castle Shirasagi, home of the royal family. Hoshido is located east of Nohr and the Bottomless Canyon, and north of Izumo and Mokushu. At least two tribes, the Wind Tribe and the Kitsune, make their homes within Hoshidan territory. Pegasi and Kinshi can only be found in Hoshido.

In contrast to the barren, blighted lands of Nohr, Hoshido benefits from fair, sunny weather, resulting in plentiful food supplies, to the point where there is more than enough to feed the the combined populations of both Hoshido and Nohr. This bounty means almost no one in Hoshido wants for anything, and crime is rare. The Hoshidan monarchs rule fairly and justly, and are loved by their people.

The line of succession seems to favor the men of the royal family, regardless of who is older sibling or not. In case of death or defection of the all male members, the crown goes to the oldest sister, and if either sibling is too young to rule, the queen-mother succeeds the king as the ruling monarch.

The Hoshidan Army primarily consists of skilled infantry who specialize in various fields, such as Swordmasters and Snipers. The Hoshidan army does make use of flying mounts in the form of pegsai and kinshis, but not cavalry. the Hoshidan Army makes use of katanas, clubs, naginatas, yumis, scrolls and rods.

Character Definition
  • Personality:   Profile (Deceased): Sumeragi: As the former king of Hoshido, Sumeragi was benevolent to his people and treated them fairly. When he was not busy with policies, he cared deeply for his family, having fun with them as he wanted to be the best father he could. He cared very little about being the Hoshidan King and took little enjoyment out of it. However, in Yukimura's support conversations with Corrin, it is revealed that he would always be happy to see his children after a long day. Sumeragi also has a different view in warfare; in a support conversation between Yukimura and Corrin, Sumeragi told him that there is no point in killing soldiers who have surrendered and disliked killing the enemy without letting them have a chance to surrender. Fuga explains to Corrin that Sumeragi was a bit of a troublemaker in his youth; he loved to play tricks on the servants, he hung around the capital's red-light district at times, but mellowed out as he grew older. Under the control of Anankos, Sumeragi became much more battle-hungry, thrilled at the opportunity to face both his eldest son and his step-child in battle. After his defeat, Sumeragi is released of this bloodlust; he expresses pride in his children, who have grown since his passing, and remorse for being unable to prevent Corrin's kidnapping. He imparts them with his faith that they will help Corrin bring an end to the Silent Dragon. Ikona: Ikona was the first wife of King Sumeragi and the previous queen of Hoshido. Through her marriage with him, Ikona gave birth to Sumeragi's four children: Ryoma, Hinoka, Takumi, and Sakura. One day, a woman came to Hoshido seeking refuge with her infant child. Ikona and Sumeragi welcomed Mikoto and her child into their kingdom and allowed her safety in Castle Shirasagi. Sometime prior to the start of the war, Ikona passed away. Even though she has been long gone, the people of Hoshido as well as her children still hold her in high regard. During Mikoto's marriage to King Sumeragi, many of the people were unsure of their new queen out of respect to Ikona. However, the masses quickly warmed up to their new benevolent queen, but still kept Ikona in their hearts. Personalities and profiles (Alive): Mikoto: Mikoto is the biological mother of Corrin, stepmother of Ryoma, Hinoka, Takumi, and Sakura, and adoptive mother of Azura, all of whom she loves dearly. She is also the biological grandmother of Kana. At some time in the past, Mikoto married Sumeragi some time after his first wife's passing and became his second queen consort. She ruled alongside her new husband for some time, but her marriage was sadly short-lived, and she became the Queen of Hoshido after Sumeragi's tragic death at the hands of King Garon of Nohr after protecting Corrin from arrows fired by Garon's soldiers. She is a kind and polite woman who cares deeply for her new people and is loved by the citizens in turn despite her unknown origins, and rules with the help of the first prince Ryoma. She has the services of Orochi and Reina as her direct retainers, and Yukimura as her tactician. Previously, Kagero was one of her retainers, but she requested that Kagero pledge her services to Ryoma when he needed to find retainers. Personality: Befitting of a queen, Mikoto is calm, kind, and graceful, and is well loved by the people of Hoshido for it. She has a generous soul, from nursing a man suffering amnesia back to health to raising her late husband's four children and her own niece later on. Orochi describes how her family was disliked for telling bad fortunes alongside the good ones, but Mikoto accepted Orochi and even treated her like a daughter. Mikoto later wept for nights on end after Orochi was injured during an attack on the palace. Despite her serene demeanor, she had her fair share of silly moments. Orochi mentions some of her odder moments in her supports with Ryoma and Corrin, like dressing too lightly when it snowed, forgetting she had two chopsticks in hand and eating with four, or swimming with her slippers on. While she did keep herself as composed as she could in court, Orochi described her as 'like a wise sage and an accidental jester.' Behind closed doors however, Mikoto agonized over her lost child, keeping herself alone in the shadows. That said, she was not afraid of Orochi and Kagero seeing this side of her. After being reunited with them after many years, Mikoto was overcome with joy. However, despite their doubts from the revelation, she was patient enough to allow them to come to their own conclusions, even if it would take much time. Holding her child's life above her own, she is willing to sacrifice herself to protect them from harm. Ryoma: Ryoma is the eldest son of Sumeragi and Ikona and the eldest child of four in the Hoshidan royal family. When Sumeragi married his second wife Mikoto, Ryoma helped the nation warm up to the new queen by establishing a strong relationship with his step-mother. Ryoma also recognized Mikoto's birth child, Corrin, as his new sibling. However, Ryoma lost this sibling when they were kidnapped as an infant and raised in Nohr. Personality: In line with his position as the direct successor to the helm of Hoshido, Ryoma cuts a figure of calm collectedness, keenly scrupulous as he rigorously analyzes the innumerable situations that he finds himself mired in before finalizing any decisions. This greatly contributes to this aura of charisma and wisdom that he is known to exude, one that sees many turning to him for his sagely advice in support conversations. Adept in the art of war, this, combined with his shrewd sense of insight and intelligence, has helped Ryoma to lead the Hoshidan army to victory in the campaigns they have participated in. Further complementing his astute skill as a battle tactician is that of his skill with the sword, one that is regarded to be unparalleled throughout the kingdom of Hoshido. In his spare time, Ryoma often meditates to keep himself calm. Consequently, due to Ryoma seemingly appearing to be perfection incarnate, both his brother and son feel insecure and inferior to him. Despite this, Ryoma cares greatly for his siblings, having a strong bond with each of them. Despite not being his sister, he also is protective of Azura as well. Even Corrin is a person of great importance to him, even after years of separation and expresses nothing but joy in their reunion despite being the only one of the Hoshidan siblings to know that they are not blood related. However, his duty to his nation and his family can overrule these feelings if he believes that they have betrayed them, His undying will makes him the last one to give up out of everyone in the army. Hinoka: Hinoka is the eldest daughter of Sumeragi and Ikona and the second child of four in the Hoshidan royal family. She originally had another sibling, Corrin, whom she was very much attached to. However, Hinoka lost this sibling when they were kidnapped as a young child and raised in Nohr. Furious at her inability to prevent the kidnapping, Hinoka thereafter began training as a Sky Knight around the age of seven. Hinoka's natural inclination to be rash and hotblooded often made training difficult for her, a fact only worsened by Pegasi only accepting riders whose hearts are calm and not ruled by passion. As a result, she had trouble training her steed over the years, often running into accidents due to not being able to properly handle it. One of these accidents allowed her to meet Azama, who tended to her injuries and helped her return home. Forming the impression that Azama was a kind and benevolent monk, Hinoka later hired him to serve as one of her personal retainers, though she later regretted it, she still kept his services. If Azama is left unmarried at war's end, she sends him to a remote region at the edge of Hoshidan territory, likely as a punishment for his more unkind actions. According to Hinoka, she had, over the years, attempted to infiltrate Nohr and rescue Corrin on multiple occasions, although each attempt was halted by Ryoma and Mikoto. Personality: Though born a princess, Hinoka's personality is nothing typical of one. Serious, determined, and unsophisticated, she has the spirit of a natural warrior and valiantly charges into battle with utter fearlessness and courage. This spirit is strongly complemented by her passionate sense of patriotism, one that compels her to personally take up arms in order to defend her homeland and prevent its people from coming under harm. In this regard, she has the tendency to charge headlong into battle with wild abandon, often disregarding her personal safety and the objections of others as she does so. She is known to overwork herself to the point of exhaustion as shown in her conversation with Hinata. Ryoma and Hinoka herself note that in the past, she was much more shy and even a crybaby. However, Corrin's kidnapping proved to be a turning point both in her lifestyle and her personality, as their kidnapping was the source of much guilt and regret in her incapability to rescue them, being devoted into becoming a warrior for that sole reason. As a side effect, this caused her to be unintentionally yet considerably neglectful to Takumi, Sakura and Azura, not spending a lot of time with them due to her constant training, as her supports are possibly the first real bonding time she's ever had with them, causing her to be stunned and regretful when she realizes that Takumi believes she wouldn't care if he died and Sakura thinks they are not alike at all. Despite that, she cares deeply for them, with her supports with Subaki telling that, in the midst of a heavy storm where Pegasi couldn't fly, she charged into a forest to look for a lost Sakura with complete disregard for the risks involved. It is through Hinoka's adamant desire to protect others that a softer side to her personality is simultaneously revealed; she is, at the core, selflessly compassionate, where she values the lives of others more than she does her own, no matter what their social class may be. This is especially evident in her conversation with Azama, where, in spite of his protests, Hinoka desperately attempts to salvage the life of a fatally wounded soldier, unreservedly demanding him to lend his healing assistance to her. In her conversation with Setsuna, it reveals that she is a poor cook, though they work together and eventually make a palatable omelet at the end of their support. If she supports with Camilla, who is an accomplished seamstress, she learns to sew and knit from her. She is the most caring person in the army, knowing plenty of soldiers by name and acts with consideration towards them. Corrin: Corrin was supposedly born to the Hoshidan royal family as the child of Mikoto and Hoshido's king Sumeragi. As a result, he's a the younger half-sibling of Ryoma and Hinoka and the older-half sibling of Takumi and Sakura, who are instead Sumeragi's children with his first wife Ikona. He was kidnapped as a young child fifteen years before the events of Fates and raised by the royal family of the neighboring kingdom of Nohr, gaining new siblings in Xander, Camilla, Leo, and Elise. As a member of royalty, Corrin carries the blood of the First Dragons and is able to tap the power of Dragon Veins, allowing him to alter the terrain of a place. However, they are also able to transform into a dragon. Corrin's transforming powers are awakened during the attack on Hoshido capital Plaza, and thereafter carry a Dragonstone to secure control of him. Personality: Corrin is a friendly, charismatic and merciful person who is quick to trust others, added to by a curious disposition, and also a rather naรฏve side, due to being sheltered within the walls of the Northern Fortress through most of their childhood. Despite being raised in isolation, Corrin is quite social and conversional, as well as persuasive to the point of convincing enemies to join their cause. Their charisma extends to animals, since Corrin is also mentioned to have a way with them. As they spent the majority of their time growing up in the Fortress, Corrin is very interested in the outside world, and quite eager to come across new sights. They are often shown to be very nosy about the members of the army and desires to make friends with their allies, even if they attempt to push them away. Corrin is also very kind and generous and will come to the aid of anyone who should ask them for it, rapid-firing apologies if they do something to upset others. Corrin is eager to believe and trust individuals, even when they are advised not to, likely due to them growing up having no experience of the outside world whatsoever. While both Ryoma and Xander have stated that this could be a very fatal flaw, they have conceded that this unwavering sense of trust makes them more trustworthy themselves, leading to many members of their army placing their faith in Corrin's cause and leadership. Ryoma has stated that this has been their main trait since they were young, having an honest and kind mindset which, in his mind, makes them worthy of being a ruler. While their charisma makes them an excellent leader in skirmishes, they are good at discerning an immediate opponent's strengths and weaknesses - despite lacking the vision to handle large-scale battles, making Corrin upset at their inability to command large forces, leading them to reveal that they feel ashamed of their inexperience and often feel unworthy of leading because they feel they aren't as strong and wise as they should be and claims they are envious those with strategic minds such as Leo. Corrin has strong familial attachment to both the Nohrian and Hoshidan royal siblings. Regardless of their choice, they are reluctant to fight against either family whenever they are forced to face them. This also leads them to be extremely forgiving and will always try to end a battle against them and their forces with as little casualties as possible, and will always spare their sibling. Even in the instance where Corrin refuses to pick a side, the thought of both families fighting each other are equally bad and they hope that one day, the two families will see eye to eye and become friends. Corrin has shown a wide variety of talents and interests: they are a great piano player, and also enjoy writing poetry and reading about philosophy. However, they have trouble with household basics as they were constantly pampered by their retainers, which caused them to lack such skills. Overall Corrin has a good enough academic background to pass knowledge onto those less literate such as Mozu. They are also shown to think quickly and use creativity like asking Zola to use his powers to change Azura's appearance fool King Garon, forcing Kotaro to reveal his kidnapping of Kagero, and deducing a traitor in their army with little to no information. Corrin is also shown to have a tendency to oversleep unintentionally. They are considered the one with the most hidden potential in the army. According to Gunter, Corrin was much quieter and shy in their childhood, only becoming more outspoken once Gunter showed them kindness by acting as a father figure for them while at the Northern Fortress. Corrin's conversation with Camilla show signs of that introverted side, as they are quite uncomfortable with her excessive doting. Even so, Corrin hopes to get better at empathizing with people such as her and spend lots of time with everyone. Due to Xander's constant visits to the Fortress, Corrin also holds a particularly strong bond with him, who was not only Corrin's main sparring partner, but the person they admired and wished to surpass in combat. Azura: Azura is a gifted songstress and dancer who can perform the song Lost in Thoughts All Alone. This song has great power when used in conjunction with her pendant, allowing her to perform miraculous feats at the cost of some harm to her body. Personality: Azura is a collected and stoic person. Due to the heavy rejection, bullying, and discrimination she faced in her time as a princess in Nohr, and the distrust from some of the people in Hoshido due to said Nohrian ties, Azura developed a reserved and aloof personality, sprouting from her fear of provocation, persecution, and rejection, only opening up to people she is close to. This stoicism can sometimes cause her to hurt others' feelings without meaning to, like in her conversations with Elise, though via bluntness rather than naรฏvetรฉ, as she is not afraid of telling someone what she thinks of them, and actually tries to help those she criticizes overcome a flaw or problem by pointing it out to them. Azura feels guilty that she received the love from the Hoshidan people and the royal siblings that rightfully belonged to Corrin. This is stated directly to them as well as through her conversation with Hinoka and Ryoma, where she tells them that they no longer need to love her now that their rightful sibling has returned to them. However, both have expressed that their familial love for her has always been real and regardless of her true origins, she is still their sister. While she still feels guilty, she becomes much less hard on herself as a result. When she reunites with her step-siblings, she learns that all of them (except for Elise before she was born) still care about her and have never forgotten about her despite the other Nohrians' mistreatment toward her. Azura appreciates when Camilla referred to her as her adorable sister. In her conversation with Xander, he allowed her to meet with them regularly and eat with them. In her conversation with Leo, she is caught singing, which he calls a lovely melody and Azura attempted to forget her time in Nohr, with Leo having heard stories about how she and her mother were mistreated. In her conversation with Xander, she appreciates when he always acknowledges her as his younger sister and even felt when he lost his own family member as she was kidnapped by the Hoshidans. Although she can get slightly emotional at times, Azura is kindhearted and surprisingly knowledgeable about many things, some of which others would not know about. This is namely information of Valla, her unique ability to manipulate water through the use of her necklace and a brief history about dragons and degeneration from her mother. Although she is more cynical and world-weary than Corrin, she shares their conviction in trying to make the world a better place and wanting to be with Corrin until the very end of the path to see peace. Normally neat and tidy, she has the worst cases of bed hair in the army and is a restless sleeper. To add some light, she also has a weakness for cute things and enjoys telling scary stories, while in her conversation with Xander, it's revealed that she's a bit of a glutton. Takumi: Takumi is the third child of four in the Hoshidan royal family, being the younger brother of Ryoma and Hinoka, the older brother of Sakura, and the second son of Sumeragi and Ikona. In addition, he is the stepson of Mikoto, the stepbrother of Corrin, and the adoptive brother of Azura. In order to gain recognition for his strength, he has been tirelessly perfecting his practice of martial arts. Although not explicitly stated, Takumi does have some skill with the blade, but when he was humiliatingly crushed by Ryoma during a sparring match many years prior to the events of the war, he chose to become an archer instead. Personality: Takumi is portrayed in a state of moody malcontent and desires recognition for his own talents without being overshadowed by the achievements of his older siblings. This serves as a blessing and a curse; on one hand, it has spurred Takumi to be austere in his efforts to hone his skills, making him a very skilled archer. In his supports with Mozu, he disproves her doubts over his farming capabilities by tirelessly engaging in manual labor on the field. However, he is mentally weak due to his overwhelming inferiority complex, as especially shown by his constant, seething words of hatred under Iago's influence. The conversations he shares with Kiragi exemplify this complex as well. Despite trying to hide it, Takumi has also a slightly childish mentality, as he often lets Camilla and Orochi's teasing get to him in their conversations, and admitting in Hinata's conversation that he enjoys watching him trounce others in sparring. unlike the rest of the royal brothers, he actually wants to go to the beach while trying to deny it, and admitting as much if he's defeated. Takumi cares immensely for his siblings. He looks up to his elder brother, Ryoma, and demonstrates a strong will to protect Sakura from any harm. He also cares for his elder sister, Hinoka, but behaves particularly harshly towards her when she reciprocates with her own care (such as with wounds from battle). Takumi is also known to be very cautious. he expresses open suspicion of anyone from Nohr. When Corrin makes the decision to allow Zola to accompany them to Nohr, Takumi makes it a point to remind them of the Dark Mage's previous attempt to kill both them and Sakura. However, Takumi is known to be rather amicable and friendly around those he does trust. This is shown through his support conversations with Leo; he initially treats him with cold arrogance only to warm up to him upon learning about their similar interests and aspirations. Despite his outward hostility towards Nohr and its people, he displays an interest in their culture and history when Elise offers him books about Nohr in their support conversations. Takumi is interested in shogi, talking about it in conversations with Leo, Hisame, and Kiragi. His interest in shogi mirrors Leo's interest in chess, while his partiality for miso soup mirrors Leo's love for beef stew. He is also skilled with the katana, as shown in his conversations with Hinata and Hana. Sakura: Sakura is the youngest daughter of Sumeragi and Ikona and the youngest child of four in the Hoshidan royal family. According to Ryoma, shortly after her birth, her parents named her after a cherry blossom tree that bloomed beautifully every spring. Originally having another sibling in Corrin, Sakura lost them when they were kidnapped as a young child and raised in Nohr. Rumors spread throughout the castle that Sakura was supposedly the original target, but Ryoma had denied these notions to her. Still, this event had an effect on her personality, making her meek and timid. Personality: Shy and timid by nature, Sakura is very polite to others but is prone to stuttering during her conversations, a fact that becomes especially prominent when she is nervous. She tends to be very easily intimidated when confronted with unfamiliar situations existing outside her comfort zone. These traits of hers particularly stand out when she is compared alongside her older siblings, all of whom are relatively more confident, self-assured and sanguine. Complementing her shy demeanor is a heart of compassion and kindness, a fact that has led to her devoting her life towards the cause of providing healing aid to others in order to alleviate their suffering. Sakura suffers from survivor's guilt in regards to Corrin's abduction. In thier conversation, she reveals to Corrin that shortly after their kidnapping, she overheard a couple of servants mention a rumor that she was supposed to be the actual target. Since Sakura was extremely young when she heard this, she wasn't aware it was just a rumor and took it as fact, causing her to believe it was her fault her dear sibling was taken. Hidden beneath the folds of Sakura's meekness is a strong will, one that emerges when she is tried by situations that threaten to endanger the lives of her loved ones. This fact is best exemplified through her actions in, where she stops Iago from ruining Azura's song to free Takumi from his spells and although she clearly possesses a disdain for warfare and harbors no desire to attack her sibling, she resolves to personally take up arms against them nevertheless for the sake of defending her homeland from an invasion. This applies out of battle as well, as she can be surprisingly fierce when pressured, snapping her staff in half with her bare hands out of pure frustration with Azama and even hitting him with it. One curious quirk is her love of candy, which is to the point where she admits to have little self-control, as in her supports with Hayato she eats a large amount of red bean mochi with incredible speed, and when at the beach, she has her quickly change her mind about going when she learns the island has lots of sweets. She is the best at healing out of everyone in the army. Retainers: Saizo: Saizo and his younger twin brother Kaze are members of a ninja clan from Igasato that has proudly served the Hoshidan royal family for several generations, and where it is custom for firstborn sons to take on the name Saizo. Their father, Saizo the Fourth, was killed by Kotaro in an unexplained incident. At an unstated point of time, he infiltrated Mokushu believing they played a part in his father's death. Although he managed to confirm his suspicions, he failed to assassinate him and lost his eye in the process. Similar to Kaze, Saizo is endowed with good looks that are considered attractive by women. Disliking the attention that his facial features can potentially attract, he conceals his face with a mask. In Saizo's conversations with his fellow retainer Kagero, it is revealed that the pair were once lovers at one point in the past. However, they were unable to reconcile their differences and thus chose to give up their relationship and instead dedicate themselves to serving Hoshido. Personality: In contrast to his brother Kaze, who is very calm, Saizo is brash and temperamental. He often expects high standards when it comes to serving the kingdom, as shown in his initial support with Kagero where he tells the recruits that they must fight and die for their kingdom. This is even extended to his son, where he has him undergo a brutal training program to ensure that he would meet his expectations and carry on the Saizo name. He also becomes very frenetic when provoked, experiencing tremendous surges of passion that compel him to behave irrationally. Saizo has also been shown to be extremely cold and unfriendly towards people whom he is unfamiliar with, a fact that extends towards his allies. This is not without a cause, however; given his occupation as both a spy and one of two personal bodyguards of Ryoma, it is thus important for him to maintain a hostile attitude as a measure of caution. Saizo's careful vigilance is made especially evident through his conversations with people like Azura and Corrin, where his inability to trust anyone with a Nohrian background causes him to constantly keep a close eye on their actions under the justification that they could be plotting something sinister. However, he will acknowledge them properly if they have proven themselves to be friendly; in his supports with Azura, for one, she gains his trust by healing him while he is wounded and with Laslow when he protects Ryoma. In contrast to Saizo's anti-social behavior is the fact that he becomes exceedingly shy to the point of becoming embarrassed and flustered when he is teased or shown affection. Through his conversation with Sakura, for one, he becomes visibly agitated when she light-heartedly remarks that it is hard to imagine him purchasing candies, dropping his usual faรงade of cool levelheadedness as he stutters uncontrollably before hastily departing. Saizo is also known to have a caring heart, although he goes to great lengths to disguise it. This is demonstrated in a conversation with Corrin where they are carrying heavy things and Saizo goes out of his way to help. He tries to mask the good deed as only having done it because of his "honor", but quickly gets embarrassed for showing his soft, caring side. He hates sweets the most out of everyone in the army, though he does make an occasional exception. Kagero: Kagero is from a noble family who has served the Hoshidan royalty for generations. Originally one of Queen Mikoto's personal retainers, Kagero later became Ryoma's retainer at her liege's behest. According to her supports with Corrin, her position was originally meant to be assumed by her older brother. However, due to him suffering from a disease that prevented him from executing the duties expected of a ninja, she thus made the decision to step forward and serve the Hoshidan royal family in his stead. In a conversation with her fellow retainer Saizo, it is revealed that the two of them were in a romantic relationship at some point prior to the events of the war. Due to their inability to reconcile their differences, they eventually elected to end the relationship and focus instead on their duties. Personality: Kagero is predominantly defined by her fierce loyalty to Ryoma, where she will not hesitate to sacrifice herself in order to preserve his life. According to her supports with Kaze, this loyalty of hers sees her devoting the bulk of her time to training or fulfilling missions, leaving her with little time for leisure. Compared to Saizo, however, the extent of her loyalty is less extreme; through her supports with him, she chastises him for instilling unnecessary fear into the new recruits by insisting that they be prepared to sacrifice their lives to protect their lieges. Kagero often presents herself as a calm, confident individual, befitting of one who acts as a personal bodyguard of the Hoshidan high prince. This sense of collectedness is consistently maintained even when she is faced with tense situations. One such example may be observed in Kagero's conversation with Takumi, where, in response to him demanding her to explain what is lacking in his sense of patience, she remains calm enough to carefully craft a reply without offending him. Despite the serious demeanor that Kagero commonly presents, she is still able to form meaningful relationships with others and take up hobbies for amusement. Her supports with other characters often portray her as being receptive to conversation; through her meeting with Rinkah, for one, she initiates conversation in a bid to strike up a friendship with her. Kagero is also known to harbor an interest in painting, a fact that sees her spending much of her free time engaging in the art. Though she lacks the aptitude for painting, it is through this medium that she has established a steadfast friendship with Orochi, one that has remained strong since childhood. Through their supports, it is evident that Orochi appreciates Kagero's eccentric style of art, to the point where she regards a card featuring a brook-and-water drawing as a symbol of their friendship. This is also shared by Odin, who admired Kagero's art of a silkwyrm as a stroke of genius in their supports, and attempts to summon it, with Kagero eager to help out, showing a desire to have her art come to life. While Hinata calls the art abstract as well as creepy and ominous, which Kagero claims is not the intent, he also assures her that he genuinely likes it, saying it has an odd appeal. Kagero is said to be the best diary-keeper in the army. Azama: Azama is known to be the second son of a priest based in an unnamed shrine. Prior to the events of the war, as a result of his ill behavior, he was forced to ascend a number of mountain ranges, during which he found penance and developed a calm, serene demeanor that is considered befitting of a priest. While meditating on one of these mountains one day, Azama encountered Hinoka, who had been injured due to unknown causes. This prompted him to heal her wounds to the best of his abilities before taking her to safety. Departing immediately after rejecting Hinoka's offer to reward him, Azama left the impression that he was a wise, selfless priest, a fact that later saw her deciding to hire him as one her direct subordinates, though she regretted it soon after. Azama also possesses a powerful charm that he obtained from a holy deity during one of his meditations, although he is not able to use it for "entirely selfish" purposes. Personality: Personality Despite holding the position of a priest who is expected to represent the values of benevolence and compassion, Azama defies such expectations, as he adopts a demeanor of breezy apathy in his regard of others, heavily employing sardonic wit and dark humor in his speech. Indiscriminate in the disagreeable manner by which he treats people, Azama is known to delight in making biting remarks that induce pronounced discomfort, and even his liege and social superior Hinoka is not spared; through his supports with her, he reveals, albeit rather disturbingly, that her positively charming look of fury and frustration during their first meeting as she fought to preserve her life was what compelled him to rescue her. Azama occasionally corrects or explains himself while speaking with others, as despite his reputation as a prankster, he actually cares for others as shown throughout his supports, where he helps others like Felicia do her job properly and tells Hinoka that he is worried for her kindness as it may be her downfall, and even prays that she doesn't lose her innocence. Azama's sardonicism is deeply steeped in the realm of absurdism, where he airily considers life to be devoid of any meaning or purpose but lives peacefully through it. Apart from him cheerfully remarking that "death comes for everyone" when he defeats an enemy unit, Azama's absurdist inclinations are also best illustrated through his supports with various characters. His supports with Corrin is one such example, as he, after dismissively stating that death can be a sad affair, casually reveals his belief that he, alongside every other life form, is merely a manifestation of a larger conscience. Taking up the art of meditating as a hobby, Azama enjoys retreating from the company of others and engaging in the act during his free time. Using meditation as a means of escapism to avoid the chaos of warfare, Azama is known to become irritable when he is interrupted in the practice, a fact that surfaces through his conversation with Corrin. Azama is the only member of the whole army that never cries for any reason. Setsuna: A member of a noble family in Hoshido, Setsuna was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, a fact that saw every one of her heart's desires fulfilled almost instantaneously. This fact alone has resulted in her feeling that her life lacks any sort of excitement. This feeling was altered one day when she was accidentally caught in a hunting trap; despite the inconvenience, she derived much excitement in the event, and according to her, it marked the first time in her life that she had ever felt alive. From this point onwards, Setsuna regularly gets herself caught in traps, although she often requires either Hinoka or Azama to free her from them. Personality: Setsuna exudes an aura of calm and quiet, although this, contrary to being due to her being well-trained and disciplined, stems instead from her chronic absentmindedness and laziness. Her absentmindedness has, on multiple occasions, seen her blissfully walking into traps without once realizing the danger that is presented to her, the result of her daydreaming and losing focus of the path ahead of her. Even after being ensnared by traps, Setsuna is known to treat her predicament with bemused apathy, believing that Hinoka will always somehow manage to locate and rescue her from her plight. Setsuna's absentmindedness has also helped her to develop a hilarious immunity to sarcasm, a fact that sees her often mistaking the insults of others for compliments. Her conversation with Saizo particularly brings out this aspect of her character, where she manages to frustrate him by mistaking his insults for compliments. Ironically, it is this very absentmindedness that makes Setsuna proficient in battle. Neither bothered with the opinions others may harbor of her nor intimidated by her opponents, she is able to engage in battle very well, focusing solely on sniping her foes with deadly precision. Despite these weaknesses in Setsuna's personality, she is not without her strengths; through her conversations with Hinoka, Hana and even the sharp-tongued Azama, it can be observed that Setsuna is actually able to discipline herself when she is seized with the desire to master certain skills. She has demonstrated this through learning to cook with Hinoka and Azama, understanding the benefits of teamwork with Hana in practical settings, and learning to avoid traps altogether with Corrin. She is also completely fearless, which enhances her performance in battle since no enemies ever scare her enough to lose her focus. Her loyalty to Hinoka is absolute, and she shows it through refusing to abandon her after she's defeated in Conquest and saying that she'd rather die than acknowledge the loss against Nohr. Her father studied medicine and at one point helped Sumeragi while he was bedridden, thus buying their noble status. This resulted in Setsuna becoming interested in medicine and learning how to make salves, as seen in her conversation with Hinata. However, her lack of drive and motivation stopped her from pursuing this. It is implied she has a strong immune system from her exposure to medicine. Setsuna is the most flexible and limber member of the army. Oboro: Oboro's family once owned a well-known kimono shop that bore strong connections to the royal family of Hoshido. These connections proved to be fatal to her parents, as the political and economic influence that they gained caused them to attract the attention of Nohr, resulting in them being ambushed and killed by a Nohrian assassin when they were en route to Nohr on a business trip. The perpetrator was an experienced assassin, who was Beruka's mentor. Oboro survived by hiding in a cart, and she was thereafter taken in by relatives who worked directly for the Hoshidan nobility. Through this connection, Oboro eventually learned how to wield the Naginata, thereafter enlisting as a soldier in the Hoshidan army. Some time after her enlistment, Oboro was appointed as one of Prince Takumi's personal retainers. Personality: Oboro harbors a chronic hatred of Nohr, which stems from the murder of her parents by the hands of Nohrian assassins. This resulted in an involuntary tic that causes her to twist her face into a demonic visage whenever anything related to Nohr is mentioned or shown in her presence. Despite her hatred for Nohrians, Oboro is capable of controlling herself depending on circumstances; through her conversation with Silas, she declines his offer to train with him, attributing her refusal to her not wanting to kill him by accident. Even when she finds out that her parents' murderer was already slain by Beruka years ago, she is still capable of reason rather than blind rage, knowing that the chain of hate always ends in tragedy. That said, Oboro is not without the sense to understand that not all Nohrians are evil, like her supports with Niles and Benny, and can clearly tell the difference enough to make civilized conversation and establish friendships and even romance with a number of them. Oboro copes with the loss of her beloved parents through her involvement with the Hoshidan army, a fact that has led to her sharing very strong, tenacious bonds with many members of the army. In particular, she is especially attached to her liege, Takumi, having romantic feelings for him, but is too shy to admit them, she even laments that she never revealed her feelings to him. This does not equal to her ignoring the rest of the army, however, as she is often seen taking a mother-like role to them: she can recruit Kaze's help to make sure there will is no mice their supplies, teach Rinkah to eat less messily and use proper utensils, ask Kaden for collaboration to braid silk threads into cords, check on Ryoma's health and sleeping habits, etc. As the daughter of Hoshidan tailors, Oboro is an expert fashionista and is shown tailoring to other members of the army through her supports. Her fascination with fashion does have the tendency to be excessive to the point of being forceful, if not relentless; this fact can be observed through her supports with Saizo and Mozu, where she persists on crafting newer and flashy clothes for the two to wear despite numerous protests and having to chase them both down in the conversations of both people. However, she does mean well, as can be observed through a few of her Heroes quotes and in her conversation with Mozu that she firmly believes that no matter how much people put on makeup and clothes, it is the inside that matters. She is the fastest at changing clothes in the entire army. Hana: Best friends with Sakura ever since childhood, Hana acts as one of her personal bodyguards. She is also a distant relative of the Hoshido royal family, fathered by a renowned samurai who once served King Sumeragi with the utmost loyalty. His loyalty never wavered even when faced with death, a fact that serves as a source of inspiration for Hana to follow in his footsteps. Hana spent much of her younger years undergoing a strict training regimen, one that primarily revolves around her sneakily taking part in soldier practice sessions and practicing on her own in open fields. Her attention to her training is recognized by Sakura, who remarks that she is far more devoted and disciplined than most enlisted soldiers are. Even before becoming Sakura's retainer, Hana often took it upon herself to protect her, a fact that saw her sustaining injuries regularly. This strong bond of friendship is what eventually motivated Sakura into naming Hana one of her retainers with no hesitation, even in the face of opposition by ministers who belittled her friend. Personality: Depicted as the stereotypical tomboy, Hana has a terrible sense of self-restraint. This is evidenced through her first appearance, where she heatedly argues with Subaki over who "Sakura's best subordinate" is. She is Sakura's best friend and cherishes their friendship above all else, especially expressing pride in being her retainer. As a result, she has some resentment towards Corrin as their kidnapping caused great sadness in Sakura. She does apologize to them later, as she acknowledges that their kidnapping was not their fault. Descending from a long line of samurai who has served the Hoshidan royal family for generations, Hana is considered one of the best samurai in all of Hoshido. She remains humble about her lineage and chooses instead to earnestly apply herself to daily training to keep herself in peak form. She can be borderline obsessive in her training diligence as she carries a huge supply of vegetables across a wide open field in her conversation with Kaze and frequently spars with Hinata, another Samurai retainer of the Hoshido royal family. However, even she cannot keep up with the absurd levels of strength required for Effie's daily training. Though a tomboy, Hana still loves cute and girly things, which can be seen in her supports with Hayato. When he receives a bunch of childish and girly gifts from his caretakers in the Wind Tribe, she gladly offers to take them off his hands.Hana is also known to have a very odd sense of taste; in her conversation with Saizo, he gives her a manjuu, which according to Saizo are not meant to taste particularly nice, and she comments on how great it tastes, much to his confusion. Hana enjoys cherry blossoms the most out of everyone in the army, most likely due to them being the origin of Sakura's name. Subaki: Subaki was born into a family belonging to the upper echelons of Hoshido, one that is renowned for having served the royal family for generations. His parents raised him to be a paragon of strength and skill. Following the footsteps of his ancestors, Subaki is thus instated as one of Princess Sakura's personal retainers. Personality: Subaki is a self-professed perfectionist, a fact that primarily stems from the legacy of his family's traditions, ones that have conditioned him to strive towards achieving perfection in all that he does. As a result of this, he is known to be very demanding and even unforgiving towards himself as he works tirelessly to meet the harsh expectations that he sets for himself. This has in turn caused him to have the tendency to engage in self-reproach whenever he commits "offenses" that he feels make him appear weak and imperfect in the eyes of others. During such occurrences, Subaki is known to lapse into a state of flustered distress as he attempts to rectify his shortcomings. In spite of the excessive nature of his hardworking spirit, Subaki never draws attention to himself, choosing instead to hide his efforts from the notice of others. As a result of the attitude and behavior that he adopts towards others, Subaki can come across as being more obnoxious and arrogant than he actually is. He has the cleanest hands in the entire army. Kaze: Kaze and his older twin brother, Saizo, are members of a ninja clan from Igasato that has proudly served the Hoshidan royal family for several generations. Trained from a young age, Kaze became an exemplary ninja. Some time in their past, their father, Saizo the Fourth, was killed by Kotaro in an unexplained incident. His older brother became the new head of their clan, taking up the name Saizo. While Saizo was more vindictive in seeking retribution on his father's assailant, Kaze was more coolheaded. Still, Kaze pledged to support his brother to help him take down their father's killer. When he was little, Kaze accompanied Sumeragi and his subordinates during the trip to Nohr. One night, he spotted several suspicious Nohrian soldiers. However, he did not know what they were going to do and did not report the incident. Consequently, Sumeragi was killed and Corrin was kidnapped. Since that night, he felt that if he reported them, he might have prevented the tragedy. As a result, he promised himself not to pledge loyalty until he serves Corrin, and swore to protect Corrin to repent for his mistake. Kaze believes Mikoto may have foreseen her child's return and arranged things so that Kaze could fulfill this pledge. Personality: Unlike his more passionate, hot-blooded older twin brother, Kaze is much more cool-headed. No matter the situation, heremains unfazed and calm, even in the face of danger or against some of the more abrasive members of the army. He is hard to faze and can even handle some of the more wily members of the army, such as his immunity to Charlotte's flirting and being able to maintain a calm disposition against Selena's snark. Kaze is also known to be deeply loyal to the people whom he respects. This is best evidenced through his relationship with Corrin, where, as a result of admiring their vision to reign peace upon the continent, he swears fealty to them and becomes their retainer in their conversation. He is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for their sake to save them in exchange for his own life. In his conversation with Corrin, it is revealed that Kaze is very popular with women. He often receives gifts from them, a fact that is usually a reciprocal gesture as a means to repay the favors that he performs for them. His popularity with women stems from his demeanor of politeness and benevolence, although he is blissfully unaware of the charms that he possesses. This lack of awareness over his charisma could be entirely attributed to Kaze's inclination to be humble; through his Private Quarters lines, it is revealed that he thinks rather poorly of himself, asserting that he is not very attractive and that he and his twin brother lack any resemblance. Kaze's display of humility over his personal attractions in turn lends credence to his bewildered obliviousness over his popularity with women. He is the most well-liked member in the army, as he is gentle and considerate of people whenever helping others, such as aiding Sakura find a doll but not mocking her for having it, but can also be rather lighthearted and even teasing at times, such as poking fun at Rinkah lying over wanting sweets. Orochi: Born to a noble house in Hoshido, Orochi's parents once worked in the castle as imperial Diviners. According to Orochi, her parents were not well-respected owing to the unpredictability of the fortunes that they told; just as they were able to determine good fortunes, there was also a chance for them to descry bad ones. Despite the ominous reputation that her family was branded with, Orochi was bequeathed a tremendous display of kindness by Mikoto when she made the controversial decision to hire her as a personal retainer. Known to be best friends with Kagero since childhood, Orochi first met her when she went to gather herbs near Kagero's home and accidentally dropped her basket into a river. The two ended up falling into the river trying to retrieve the basket, and they have remained close compatriots ever since. Some time before the events of the war, Orochi had a vision that Mikoto would die in a future incident. Although not very clear on the circumstances revolving around her liege's impending death, she warned her of the danger presented to her life nevertheless. Despite this, she was unable to prevent the tragedy that occurred soon after. Personality: Contrary to her antiquated style of speech, Orochi is rather playful and fun-loving. This fact surfaces through the vast majority of her supports, where she delights in teasing her conversational partners, and even those who are portrayed as somber and grim are not spared. Her conversations with Takumi reveal this, where she teases him about his childhood, like playing with dolls, and she persists in attempting to irritate Saizo until she successfully strikes him in his weak spot by reminding him of an embarrassing situation that took place during their childhood. Through this same example, it is evident that Orochi has a tendency to not recognize the limits of her teasing, to the point where she winds up deriving amusement at the expense of her conversational partners' immense discomfort. Despite her playfulness, Orochi is also portrayed as immensely competitive, particularly with regards to her medical and magical capabilities. This fact is unveiled through her conversations with Hayato and Nyx, where she openly issues them challenges to compare their skill in the art of identifying rare herb and concocting potions and practicing offensive magic respectively. She also loves telling fortunes when being given herbs, like with Hinata, Silas and Jakob, where she will tell truthful or meaningless fortunes. Orochi has also been depicted as rather sentimental, cherishing each and every one of the bonds that she has forged. This fact is particularly evident in her conversation with her childhood friend Kagero, where she is the only known person to appreciate Kagero's eccentric brand of painting. In addition to this, Orochi also reveals that she has attached intense sentimental value to a card depicting a brook-and-water scenery that Kagero had drawn for her during their childhood, regarding it as a symbol of their friendship. In some of her conversations, Orochi will sometimes refer to herself in third person. She has the loudest laugh in the entire army. Reina: The daughter of a prominent feudal lord in Hoshido, Reina was originally raised to become a lady befitting of her family's social position. This contrasts very starkly with her childhood fascination with the Hoshidan army's training, one that eventually developed into a desire to join the guard. Before departing from her home, Reina's parents gave her an apron in the hopes that it would sway her into consigning to their expectations for her to take up the role of a domestic woman. She elected to go against her parents' wishes, choosing instead to mould herself into a knight. Quickly rising through the military ranks, Reina's efforts were eventually recognized by Mikoto, who promoted her into one of her personal retainers. While she personally saw this as a tremendous honor, Reina's parents thought otherwise and thereafter chose to sever ties with her. Although hurt by her parents' actions, Reina continued to execute her duties as a knight unfalteringly while retaining the apron given to her as a sign of gratitude to them. Personality: Reina is primarily depicted as a bloodthirsty individual who relishes the chaos of warfare, harboring a morbid fascination with hearing the screams and cries of agony emitted by her foes, to the point where she remarks that the placement of the trees forms the perfect acoustics that allow her to better enjoy the last words uttered by her foes. Through her conversations with Corrin, a completely different side to Reina's personality is revealed, one that starkly acts as a foil to the sadistic demeanor that she adopts on the battlefield. Away from the battlefield, Reina adopts a motherly demeanor as she dotingly cares for her allies to provide them comfort from the chaos of warfare. She is the best listener in the army. Other Hoshidans: Mozu: Mozu is a villager from Hoshido who, until the war broke out, lived peacefully in a small village in the border between Hoshido and Nohr. In her story, her village is attacked by the Faceless, killing most of the villagers and razing the land. Mozu and her mother nearly make it out of the village before a Faceless ambushes them and kills her mother. Mozu survives the attack by hiding in the nearby woods. Receiving word of the attack, Corrin leads their forces to Mozu's village in hopes of finding survivors, discovering Mozu in the process. After dispatching the Faceless, Mozu looks in horror at the remains of the village. Left with little options and little of value left to reclaim, Mozu joins Corrin's army, hoping to repay them for rescuing her and to pay respects to the deceased. After the war, Mozu returns to her village and rebuilds with help from neighboring villages. Personality: Often portrayed as meek with low self-confidence, Mozu is hesitant to attempt new things that she is not particularly adept in. Her supports depict her as such, where she requires the encouragement of her conversational partner in order to pick up skills that are useful to her on the battlefield. Her conversation with Silas and Ryoma particularly support this fact, as both men offer to personally train her, to which she does not accept at first but eventually agrees in order to move on from her trauma, be of use to Corrin's army as a soldier and prove to herself that she does have courage. Otherwise however, her supports reveal her to be in possession of a blunt, unabashed personality in things she knows about, where she does not hesitate to point out the mistakes committed by others and their flaws. She is also one of few females who consistently and proactively asks for her love interest's hand in marriage. In truth, Mozu is actually physically robust. As revealed in her conversation with Corrin, her life as a villager demands her to engage in manual labor such as crop cultivation and animal hunting for sustenance and she has grown surprisingly strong for someone of her age as a result. Not only that, Mozu has acquired, if not excelled in, a variety of skills and traits that has helped her throughout her life on the farm and still helps significantly as a member of Corrin's army. One of Mozu's more recognizable talents is cooking. When taking shifts in the Mess Hall, if she cooks food of a good quality, she will proudly mention that back home, the villagers often asked her to cook. Such talent is further confirmed through her supports with Saizo, where her cooking reminds him of the food native to his home village, stating that he prefers it over the heavier food commonly served in Shirasagi. Her hunting and trapping skills are also among the best in the army, as she hunted a bear single-handedly from learning skills and tricks from an old man in her village prior to the Faceless attack and is capable of hunting boars alone. Mozu is also known to possess a humble spirit, not valuing any wealth or luxuries and preferring a simplistic lifestyle as opposed to an extravagant one. This is made evident in her conversation with Oboro where, in response to Oboro cheerfully remarking that her endearing appearance will be enhanced with the right clothes and makeup, she quietly states that they will not obscure the fact that she is, at heart, a country girl. Yukimura: According to Yukimura's conversation with Corrin, he was once disciple to both his father and the late King Sumeragi. Admitting that he was once reckless in the strategies that he crafted in his youth, Yukimura was once inclined to achieve victory at all costs, even if a tremendous number of lives were lost in the process. Following a lecture by Sumeragi himself and learning of the late king's valiant sacrifice of his life in exchange for Corrin's, Yukimura began to reform the way he formulates strategies, seeking to achieve victory with minimal loss of lives on both sides. Yukimura's conversation with Corrin reveal certain memories that he has retained of the brief amount of time that they had spent in Hoshido prior to being kidnapped. For one, he reveals that Sumeragi and Mikoto, aware of his craftsmanship skills, had requested him to craft a moving-picture box of Corrin's childhood. According to Shura, it was Yukimura who came up with the plan to kidnap Azura following Corrin's abduction from Hoshido. Shura: Shura is a thief from Nohr who was born in the former country of Kohga. He had a relatively happy life in Kohga until the neighboring kingdom of Mokushu invaded, razing the country and killing many of its people. Shura was one of the few survivors and became a refugee. He sought to make a new life in Hoshido, but was denied entry and settled in Nohr instead. Because of Nohr's harsh conditions, Shura was driven to a life of crime to survive, and he eventually came to lead a gang of thieves. Shura was later hired by Yukimura to kidnap Azura from Nohr in retaliation for King Garon killing King Sumeragi and abducting Corrin. Personality: Despite his appearance and job as a thief, Shura is surprisingly honorable and has good intentions for his actions. His conversations with Corrin show that he attempted to rob them because he needed their gold to fulfill his dream of restoring his country. His honesty can be shown through his talk with Corrin, as he regrets killing innocent people for money but had to in order to survive. With Corrin, he is often a "loner" in the army, eating away from the rest of the group. Because of his reputation as an outlaw, he is afraid that he would tarnish her reputation if people knew he was working with her. He feels that his past burdens him down. However, Corrin insists that he should talk with others, and at the end, he realizes that there are other people in the army with similar situations and promises to help Corrin whenever they need it. Several of his quotes also demonstrate that he has very low self-esteem. In one of his Private Quarters quotes, he insists that Corrin deserves better company than him. He is the best long-distance swimmer out of everyone in the army. Rinkah: Rinkah is a fighter born into the Flame Tribe, which exists independent of the kingdom of Hoshido. Following the orders of her father, she provides assistance to the royal family of Hoshido in their struggle against the invasion of Nohr. Personality: As a result of being born as the direct descendant of the Fire Tribe's chieftain, Rinkah has thus been trained since infancy to become a warrior worthy of inheriting the title of chieftain in the future. Stalwart in her dedication to her training, Rinkah constantly strives towards bettering her combat skills, never once permitting herself to be complacent. This fact is reflected through a good number of the supports that she shares with many characters, like Silas and Hinata, where, despite her inclination to isolate herself from others, she readily accepts any challenge that is put forth to her to test her mettle. The strictness of Rinkah's training has molded her into a paragon of courage and toughness that is unrivaled by almost anyone in the army. Due to this, she thus adopts a no-nonsense policy in her regard of others, and will not hesitate to lash out at anyone for their cowardice. Her supports with Hayato reveal this, where she, in a fit of impatient rage, scolds him for attempting to throw away his vegetables because he considers them too bitter for his liking. In accordance with her clanโ€™s law of solitude, Rinkah chooses to isolate herself from the rest of her allies, preferring to be in her own company in that of being in others. This fact is proven through a number of her conversations like Takumi, Kaden and Keaton, where she expresses annoyance whenever anyone seeks to interact with her. Her conversation with Ryoma, for one, sees her responding to his call for her attention by demanding to know why her Hoshidan allies talk excessively and cannot seem to leave her in peace and quiet. However, as her support conversations progress, she begins to open up to others. In conversation with Jakob she admits that she has begun to enjoy interacting with other members of the army. She also explains that her tribeโ€™s culture values a small number of intimate friendships rather than many casual relationships; something she realizes many of her new allies also value. This new understanding is reflected in other conversations, as she begins to initiate conversations with fellow soldiers and even eat alongside them. Despite her bold personality, Rinkah can become quickly embarrassed while expressing sensitive emotions. During her confession to Corrin, she becomes so red-faced and sweaty that he worries sheโ€™s caught a fever. Rinkah has a deep love for food. She typically eats large meals, though she usually made huge messes as a result of never eating with utensils (until Oboro showed her how much more food she could eat with a fork and knife). She abhors the idea of wasting food, to the point that she claims she'll "never forgive" Hayato for throwing away his vegetables-all while eating said vegetables. As a result of her obstinate maintenance of a stoic demeanor, Rinkah is rather adamant about avoiding any action that would make her appear weak. Her conversation with Kaze reveal this, where she initially rudely refuses his offer of candy for fear that her desire for treats may be interpreted as a sign of weakness. She has the highest body temperature in the army. Fuga: The chieftain of Hoshido's Wind Tribe and best friend of the late King Sumeragi, Fuga possesses a majesty unique to a veteran hero and his entire body exudes the presence of a stalwart warrior. He uses his opponentโ€™s strength to determine their character and ability. In addition, he is Hayato's adoptive father: he was a close friend of Hayato's mother (whom he had feelings for, but never confessed them to her), and when she and her husband were murdered by Faceless, Fuga took their child in. Personality: Fuga's philosophy is that innocence can be proven through one's conviction in battle. He has devoted so much of his life to fighting that he questions if he spent his life well, wishing he had enjoyed life and started a family like Sumeragi. He wonders if he is so old he should retire, but Corrin encourages him his wisdom is needed for their cause to be successful. Near the end of one of their conversations he also shows some fatherly qualities towards Corrin. He acts as a mentor towards Hayato, and a bit towards Corrin, pushing them forward on their path of peace. He is the most loved by children out of everyone in the entire army. Hayato: Hayato was born into the Wind Tribe but was orphaned when his parents passed away during his childhood. Out of respect to the memory of his parents, their old friend Fuga thereafter decided to adopt him and raise him as his own. Personality: Owing to him being recognized as the most powerful Diviner in the Wind Tribe, Hayato thus desperately seeks to live up to his title, adopting a stiff, formal style of speech and attempting to conceal what he considers childish. As a result of this, he often comes across as being rather condescending and rude in his treatment of others, a fact that is reflected throughout a good number of supports that he shares with other characters. Hayato's snobbish attitude is, however, a mask for the adolescent form that continues to live within him, one that he accidentally makes known to the world from time to time. It is through the emergence of these childish tendencies that more dimensions to his personality can be observed. For one, Hayato possesses an innate curiosity about the world around him, easily fascinated by things that are unfamiliar to him. His conversation with Azura best exemplify this, where he, in a fit of excitement, informs her of his admiration for the vastness of the world outside of the Wind Tribe. He is also known to possess a sweet tooth, one that he deems to be disgraceful; through his conversation with Sakura, he initially refuses her offer to share her mochi with him, only accepting when she comes up with the idea of pretending that he is helping her to finish them if they're asked about it. Hayato has also been revealed to be an insecure person, possessing quite a few phobias that include the dark and the supernatural, one that are known to reduce him to tears due to him not being able to maintain a stable frame of mind when confronted with both. His conversation with Azama is an example of this fact, where a tale that Azama shares of a ghost living in a closet is perceived to be terrifying enough to cause Hayato to break out into a peal of uncontrollable sobs. He also detests appearing weak in front of others and failing to achieve success in his spellcasting. As shown in a Private Quarters conversation, Hayato is afraid of the dark. Hayato is fairly skilled as an apothecary, having numerous rare herbs and can also turn them into potions. His supports with Orochi show that he is more potent in making a healing potion and presumably a salve for tooth rot, though Orochi surpasses him in cold medicine. He drinks the most milk in the army. Kaden: Following his father's footsteps, Kaden held the position of leader of the Kitsune Hamlet and kept his people in order. Personality: While he can be very serious in dire situations, Kaden is actually rather playful and mischievous. This may be observed in his various conversations, where he teases and amuses the people he interacts with. Kaden is also known to go out of his way to repay those whom he feels indebted to, even if they have only performed a small favor for him. Kaden is also a little bit of narcissist, spending much of his free time carefully grooming his fur. Proud of his coat, he shows it off to everyone he meets, even letting them touch it to gauge how fluffy it is for themselves. His supports with Keaton reveal that he is afraid of spiders. He has the best posture in the army. Izana: Archduke of the Kingdom of Izumo, direct descendant of the gods, and five-time winner of the Best Hair award, Izana has an unexpectedly cheerful and joking personality in contrast to his divine appearance and royal status. Personality: Contrary to his serene appearance and status as a noble, Izana is extremely flamboyant, peppering his speech with unusual phrases and overall excitable charm. He enjoys throwing parties for even the simplest of things, as he asks Corrin to stay for a party for saving him (even though he stayed in a luxurious cell). He is also concerned with his appearance, as he is a five-time winner of the Best Hair Award in Izumo. During his spare time, Izana gives fortunes to curious clients. Whether they are legitimate or not are unknown, as during his support conversations with Corrin, he gives a simple fortune which they state is quite obvious to everyone. his fortunes are considerably more accurate than the ones in his conversations. Kotaro: Kotaro is the daimyo of the kingdom of Mokushu, and his greatest ambition is to usurp power for his nation. Kotaro was behind both the fall of Kohga, Shura's homeland, and the death of Saizo and Kaze's father, Saizo the Fourth, whom he killed when the former Saizo directly called him out on his ambitions. After the outbreak of hostilities between Nohr and Hoshido, King Garon promised Kotaro a large portion of Hoshidan territory once Nohr emerged victorious, provided that Mokushu allied with Nohr. Driven by the thought of more power, Kotaro eagerly accepted the offer, and joined Nohr in fighting Hoshido. Once the agreement was signed, Kotaro ordered for any Hoshidan that passed through Mokushu to be apprehended while maintaining a guise of neutrality to avoid suspicion. Personality: Crafty and cunning, Kotaro is extremely sly and manipulative. He is also an expert at spinning veils of lies in order to obscure his true malicious motives from the public eye. This fact is particularly prominent in Conquest, where he dupes Corrin into aiding him under the pretext of his nation having been victimized by Hoshido. Driven by a lust for power and authority, Kotaro is also known to take any measure that he deems necessary in order to achieve his ambition, regardless of whether they are dishonorable. For example, he uses hostages (like Kagero) to slow down his enemies, kills or severely cripples anyone who dares question him (like Saizo and Kaze's father, since according to him the previous Saizo tried to stop his ambitions), and is willing to destroy any realms who are in the way (like Shura's homeland of Kohga). Kotaro also has a habit of bad-mouthing his foes, When confronted in the former, he says he will name one of the latrines in his new castle after the opponent he defeats in their honor, and in the latter, he arrogantly says his kingdom will be built on their graves and that not even Garon will stop him.
