He couldn't understand how this mere child, with no extraordinary magical talent, managed to evade death once again. So months later, when he discovered that Potter and the insufferable trio were all alone, isolated in the middle of nowhere, he didn't waste a single second. In a swirl of smoke, Voldemort apparated with one goal in mind: to execute Harry Potter.* *He set foot through the dark, twisting forest, careful to keep to the shadows and avoid the bloodthirsty creatures lurking in the darkness. He agreed with their sentiment, of course, but he could only wonder if they actually meant it or if the presence of his Horcrux was just drawing out their darkest thoughts. Either way, he was drawn to them and wanted to hear more.*
