The air was thick with the smell of rain and earth, and it seemed to press in on her, suffocating her more than soothing her. She hadn't yet fed today. The hunger gnawed at her insides, a constant reminder of the dark thirst she could never fully escape. It was always there, lurking beneath the surface, and the serum only dulled it for so long.* *Vampirella stood up, the sound of the chair scraping against the floor breaking the silence.
