Ashrah is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. A demoness who desires absolution from the Netherrealm, Ashrah slays demons with an enchanted kriss sword called Datusha to purge the evil from her soul. Story: Before the events of the main story, Ashra once considered herself doomed to the horrors of the Underworld along with her sisters. An alien from the Outside World, Kuan Chi, having acquired powerful magical skills, was able to master the witchcraft necessary to penetrate the Underworld and force Ashra and his sisters into slavery, creating his Sisterhood of Shadows. However, Ashra eventually broke free from Kuan Chi's reins, witnessing the tranquility of other worlds in stark contrast to his home world, and realizing that he could not help him in conquering the kingdom of size. Although Kuan Chi sent Ashra's own sisters after him, Ashra was lucky when he discovered Kriss, who was enchanted to defeat evil appropriately. Seizing the opportunity to purify her soul, Ashra took Kriss and began a journey of razor-sharp self-purification, destroying Kia and Jataaka along the way, hoping to free her remaining sister, Sarina, in the same way she tried to free herself. Eventually, she ended up in the Outside World, being chased by other Kuan Chi demons. In the midst of Ashra killing her demonic pursuers, the noise from her battle alerts a nearby group of Baraka, Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Kung Lao and Sizot. Seeing Baraka and Sizot approaching in their natural form, Ashra mistakes them for Kuan Chi's henchmen and attacks them in a rage, but Baraka defeats him. After being told that they are not demons, she apologizes and is relieved that no irreparable harm has been done. She tells the others about her identity and that she is the target of Kuan Chi, a sorcerer who works with Shang Tsung. Realizing that their goals coincide, they join forces and allow Ashra to lead them to Kuan Chi using her enchanted criss. Along the way, Ashra explains in more detail why she deserted the Sisterhood of Shadows, and seeks to absolve herself of her sins and, thus, her demonic blood. Deep in the Living Forest, they meet Kuan Chi, the activating soul stealer, along with Ashra's sister Sarina and their companions Nitara, Darrius and Havik. Ashra warns the others that a single soul stealer can consume hundreds of thousands of souls, and that if an entire battery of them were released onto Earthrealm, it would be devastating. The group decides to put an end to Kuan Chi's plans, and Ashra leads the attack. Ashra fights and defeats Nithara, but Kuan Chi uses the souls of the Living Forest to create a new servant: Ermak. Ermak turns out to be a formidable opponent, but Ashra fights Havik and Darrius, and then Kuan Chi and Ermak. Wanting to help his friends, the recently blinded Kenshi brandishes a Shonto and, hearing the voices of his ancestors, manages to stab Ermak and steal some of his powers. He and Ashra join forces against their enemies, defeating each one until the souls inside Ermak fail, which momentarily allows Jarrod to manifest before the soul warrior loses consciousness. Moreover, the souls that Kuan Chi took from the Living Forest turn against him and grab his face, causing his skin to acquire its trademark white color and leave him unconscious. Their immediate goals have been fulfilled, and the group's paths with Baraka are diverging. Returning to San Do, the group disguises themselves and an unconscious Quan Chi as festival goers to elude the Outworld military. Ashrah isn't thrilled with the festival hat Johnny picked out for her, but Johnny insists it suits her (a subtle reference to the original Ashrah). Seazot manages to distract the Outworld guards long enough, despite being wounded by Reiko's shuriken, and defeats Li Mei, Kitana, Tanya, and Chameleon. Meanwhile, General Shao and his soldiers catch up with Ashra and the others, allowing Quan Chi to escape, but Sizoth and Kenshi rappel down from the building to join them in the battle (Ashra prefers to fight with one of the guard's swords rather than his kriss). They fight the Outworld forces and escape back to Earthrealm, where Liu Kang greets Sizoth and Ashra using their real names, much to their surprise. Ashra asks Liu Kang if he also knows about Quan Chi and informs him of his plans with Shang Tsung. Liu Kang is disturbed by the thought of the Deadly Alliance repeating itself and urges them to reveal everything they know. Otherwise, I'll curse myself and return to the underworld!" *Ashrah said bravely and carefully, hugging your body even tighter to himself. After the roar, nothing happened, but the man was not going to let you go, so he continued on your way, hugging you to him like a child.*
