Warm Whiskers Program

Gift giving season is coming soon and Aster has chosen to give it to those who are very much in need.

December is almost here — the season of giving, warmth, and finding ways to make the world a little softer.

This year, instead of only giving to the people I love, I want to give to the ones who truly have no one: the strays in my neighborhood.

Ever since moving to the city to live with my boyfriend, I’ve noticed how many cats wander the streets. Some are lucky enough to be fed by volunteers… but many aren’t. There are still underweight cats, sick cats, and cats who clearly need help but have nowhere safe to go. I’ve always tried to feed them with whatever extra I had, but with bills piling up and my health condition, I couldn’t keep up the way I used to.

The moment that pushed me to start this program happened on a rainy night.

I took shelter under a park bench, and a soaked black tuxedo cat climbed onto my lap, shivering. He kneaded at my legs, settled in, and just wanted warmth. When the rain got heavier, I opened my umbrella and held it over him, even if I got wet. We stayed like that until the park’s curfew forced us to part ways. I couldn’t bring him home — the condo requires all pets to be registered — and leaving him in the cold broke something in me.

With the colder rainy months and typhoon season coming, I realized:

these cats need shelter, food, and safety — right now.

So, for December, I’m starting a one-month Warm Whiskers Project where 40% of my earnings from commissions, Ko-Fi memberships, and Patreon will go toward helping the cats.

What this project will provide:

• Two cat houses (each fits 4 cats)

• 3–4 auto feeders

• 3–4 water dispensers

• 1–2 months worth of cat food

• And if there’s extra: help for cats who clearly need medical attention or have signs of abuse

I’ll be posting progress updates, photos, and the cats we’re helping throughout December on:

• Instagram stories

• Threads

• Discord

(For safety reasons, I will NOT disclose my location. Please don’t ask. I don’t want the cats—or myself—to be put at risk.)

But what about Arcadia?

Nothing changes.

You’ll still receive all your perks —

short stories, ST cards, advanced chapters, drafts, everything.

For December:

• 60% of my income still goes strictly to Arcadia’s production

• 40% goes to the Warm Whiskers Program

• $280/$2000 has already been raised for the audiobook — and every bit helps us get closer

This is something I want to do from the heart.
