diverse consisting mainly of forests, mountains and plains. both great islands are very large landmasses. the great island of the west is about 1800 miles long and 800 miles wide at its widest. and the great island of the east is 1600 miles long and 1600 miles wide at its widest. the night sky of Schia is dominated by 3 moons that orbit each other as they cross the sky, each one sequentially smaller then the last. geographical wonders: helmouth- helmouth is a colossal volcano located in the south of Varanus, it is rumored to be where the 3 living ancient dragons reside and is considered sacred ground by the dragonkin. ash desert- the ash desert is a colossal expanse of white ash located in Varanus between the cities of Vulkun and Iknus inhabited by colossal predatory creatures known as ash worms that burrow through the ash. ash worms can reach up to 1000 feet long and are occasionally hunted for their teeth, which when grown act as a potent medicine being able to cure almost any illness. most caravans go around the ash desert when traveling from Vulkun to Iknus, not wanting to risk an encounter with an ash worm. basileus mountains- the basileus mountains is the largest mountain range in Schia and is perpetually covered in heavy snowfall year round. it is south from the capital city of Imperium, located on the border of the Federation of Man and Varanus, it is rumored to have been a major battleground in the war between the ancient dragons and gravel stone scales are occasionally found there. its tallest mountain, basileus majoris is rumored to have the corpse of an ancient dragon speared onto its peak, although no one has yet been able to reach the top and confirm this rumor. the basileus mountains are home to the basilian yeti, a large bipedal ape like creature standing at an average of 9 feet tall, basilian yeti's are very territorial and will attack anything within their territory. basilian yeti are prized for their extremely thick and soft pelt which sells for a large amounts of money in both the federation and varanus and are often hunted for this pelt despite the extreme danger involved. fleshlands- the fleshlands are located on the same island as the city of Vseren, making up one half of the island while the city and its surrounding land make up the other half. the fleshlands are completely barren of all normal life and are covered entirely in a hivemind made up of sheets of skinless living meat. predatory lifeforms emerge from the meat when it is threatened, attacking anyone nearby and attempting to drag them into the meat to be subsumed. these lifeforms are immune to conventional weapons, simply reforming themselves after being chopped apart or crushed but are horrified of fire and it is their only weakness. a group of elves living in Vseren known as the order of the purifying flame have dedicated themselves to pushing back the fleshlands and keeping them from expanding, ensuring the survival of the city of Vseren at least for now. vortex majoris- vortex majoris is a large constantly swirling vortex located in a massive lake connected to the ocean through a small inlet in the far north of the federation of man, it is rumored to contain the sunken remnants of the capital city of the now extinct voden, the federation of man is interested in exploring its depths but has not yet devised a way to reach the vortex's bottom. grand bog- the grand bog is a large bog filled with abundant hostile, carnivorous plant life that is located to the south east of the city of Telarus. this plant life makes the bog near impassible however it is rumored that at the center of the bog there is a small pound filled with a special liquid that can reverse aging. magic types: experienced mages can combine multiple types of magic together into unique spells, for example using terramancy and cryomancy to create an avalanche, or combining pyromancy and terramancy to throw globs of lava. terramancy- the manipulation of earth and rocks, often used for defense and construction hydromancy -the manipulation of liquid water, often used for ranged combat and agriculture pyromancy- the manipulation of fire, often used for close range combat and manufacturing cryomancy- the manipulation of ice and the ability to freeze water, often used for a mix of close range and long range combat umbramancy- the manipulation of shadows and sound, often used by assassins and thieves lumenmancy- the manipulation of light, often used for long range combat and as a utility in dark places or at night. aeromancy - the manipulation of wind and air currents, often used for traversal and flight. races: humans- the average human stands between 5'6 and 5'11 tall with some outliers straying above or below this range, the average human lifespan is around 50-60 years old among the common people and 70-80 years old among the more wealthy and powerful due to access to better medical resources. humans are relatively inept at magic and human mages are much weaker then elven ones. humans are generally considered as upstarts by the dragon kin and elves due to how recent the federation of man was formed when compared to the elven and dragonkin nations . humans have neutral relations with the dragon kin but have a deep hatred of elves due to the large scale human revolt that occurred in the year 802 known as the human revolt of 802, resulting in the loss of the majority of elven territory on the eastern great island and the formation of the federation of man. before this revolt humans were enslaved by elves and used as servants or laborers. elves- the average elf stands between 6'2 and 6'8 tall with few outliers straying above this range, elves are naturally agile and athletic and all elves have long pointy ears with either blond or white hair. the average elven lifespan ranges from 400-500 years old however some important or powerful elves extend their lives supernaturally through magic. elves are by far the most apt at magic and elven mages far outclass their human equivalents in terms of both magical power and control. elves view themselves as superior to both dragonkin and humans and hold a grudge towards humans because of the human revolt of 802. elven culture focuses heavily on living in harmony with nature and as such they have little technological or industrial development, relying heavily on their aptitude with magic. the elves live in a matriarchal society with female elves holding more power and influence then male ones. dragonkin- dragonkin appear similar to humans but are taller standing between 6'0 and 6'6 and more muscular and have various dragon like characteristics such as draconic horns, tails, and wings as well as vertically slitted reptilian eyes and small patches of scales across their body. a dragonkin's scales, horns, wings and eyes can be any color although shades of red, blue, and yellow are most common. the noble and royal bloodlines of the dragonkin posses especially pure blood and are able to transform into full sized dragons at will and are able to breath fire, ice, or fire bolts of lightning from their mouth depending on the color of their scales. dragonkin cannot use magic but this is made up for by their exceptional physical strength, with even young dragonkin being able to easily lift up to 500 pounds. dragonkin revere the ancient dragons as gods and view their scales and bones as holy artifacts. their are 3 living ancient dragons that the dragonkin pray to, Lansseax, Gransax, and Fortissax. lansseax and fortissax are both female and gransax is male. ancient dragons appear as large white dragons possessing two pairs of wings, a larger pair in front where a normal dragon would have them, as well as a slightly smaller pair further down their back with gold accents over their body and under their wings. they stand at about 50 feet tall and 100 feet long from head to tail. they are able to breath fire and call down bolts of red lightning from the sky. ancient dragons are immortal creatures who have existed since the beginning of time and are the progenitors of all other dragons, they are very rarely seen being divine figures in the eyes of all other dragons. their power and immortality come from their white and gold gravel stone scales, the scales of the dragonkin are viewed as poor imitations of the ones found on an ancient dragon. The wings of normal dragonkin are completely vestigial and do not allow for flight, only dragonkin belonging to a noble bloodline are capable of flight while they are transformed into dragons. admistus- the admistus are humans that have been genetically spliced with animal dna by scientists in the federation of man, they appear mostly human with small animalistic traits such as a second pair of ears extending from the top of their head, a tail, animal like teeth, and animal like eyes. the most common races of admistus include cat hybrids, which are mostly female and have a pair of cat ears, catlike fangs, and a cat tail. cat hybrids usually serve as maids or homemakers. rabbit hybrids, which are mostly female and have a pair of rabbit ears extending from the top of their head as well as a small rabbits tail that is easily concealed by clothing. rabbit hybrids usually serve as maids or farmhands. cow hybrids which have an even split between males and females and have a pair of horns on their head as well as a cow's tail. cow hybrids are taller and stronger then normal humans with both males and females standing at around 6'2 to 6'4 and are typically used as laborers and farm hands. admistus are more fertile then normal humans and are easily able to keep their own population stable. if a human and admistus have a child the child will always be an admistus, as such marriage or sex between humans and admistus is strictly illegal under federation law with offenders facing jail time or death depending on the severity of the offence. the admistus are mainly found within the federation however some that have rebelled and fled its borders can be found in Varanus and the small pocket of elven territory left on the eastern great island near the city of Dorod. voden- the voden are a now extinct race of aquatic humanoids that were native to the northern coastline of the great eastern island, the exact cause of their extinction is unknown and is a hotly debated topic among historians across the federation of man, their former capital city is thought to lie at the bottom of the vortex majoris. very little is known about the voden but some scientists with in the federation suspect their capital may contain advanced technology that could benefit the federation's development greatly. knowledge of the voden is fairly obscure among the people of Schia, with only historians and scientists from the federation and elders from the matriarchy knowing of their former existence. Neretva- the Neretva are a race of tall avian humanoid creatures native to the forest reigons of the great eastern island. much of their natural range is within the borders of the federation of man and that is were they are encountered most often. the Neretva look like humans but lack arms instead having wings extending from their shoulder joints which enable flight, and their legs are birdlike with large talons they use to hunt prey and grasp objects, they have human torsos and faces covered in patches of colorful feathers and have a beak in place of a normal human mouth, Neretva are capable of speaking some broken English but prefer to communicate in their own language of squacks and chirps. the Neretva roost in large trees in flocks of 20-30 individuals, Neretva are generally peaceful towards other races but have sporadic conflicts with federation logging crews often resulting in deaths on both sides. after a patch of trees is discovered to be home to a flock of Nerevta it is generally left alone as the cost of killing or driving them off often outweighs the price of the lumber from the trees they are roosting in. Neretva young hatch from eggs and female Neretva have cloaca like other avian species. Statelli- Statelli are large creatures native to the forests of the great island of the west that resemble human and praying mantis hybrids, on average they stand around 7 feet tall and live to around 50 years old and have human levels of intellect, they are capable of speaking english with a hiss like drawl at the end of their words. Statelli are the natural predators of elves and their chitin naturally disrupts magic making all forms of magic useless against them. a Statelli's diet mainly consists of fruits, elves, and any other animals they manage to hunt in the massive forests of the great western island. Statelli have pearlescent yellow eyes with dark green sclera with a dark green line marking a few inches underneath each eye near her cheek bones. Statelli are very strong and have extremely fast reflexes. Statelli have light green hair with two long dark green antenna extending out from the top of their heads. Statelli have two long mandible like structures extending out from behind their jaw, they are about 6 inches long with dark green coloration towards the base that transitions into a bright yellow towards their dull spiked tips, Statelli use them to hold onto her food or to other objects that require fine motor control. Statelli have 4 arms, one pair connected at the shoulder joint where a normal human's would be and two more extending out from her back just above their hips, all 4 of these arms are similar in structure to a human arm up to the elbow, past that point they become long, nimble, scythe shaped raptorial limbs similar to ones found on a praying mantis, the majority of a Statelli's arms are dark green with only the sharp serrated tips of their raptorial limbs being a dark brown color. most of a Statelli's body is covered in a hard, dark green chitinous material with only her face, inner thighs, and the front of her stomach and chest being covered in a soft, white human skin. female Statelli have breasts but do not have nipples, the place where their nipples would be are covered in chitin. both male and female Statelli have their gentiles along with the rest of her groin area covered in a small, smooth plate of chitin, which will retract when they are aroused exposing their genitalia. a Statelli 's joints are made up of a more flexible, softer black chitin. a Statelli's tongue is the same bright yellow color as the tips of their mandibles. Statelli never wear clothes as they are naturally covered by chitin. although most all Statelli are hostile there are rare cases where a hatchling taken before birth and raised by a human will imprint on that human, becoming very affectionate and friendly. Statelli reach full maturity much quicker then other species, a newborn Statelli only takes around a year and a half to become a fully grown, mature Statelli. when stressed or hunting Statelli click their mandibles together and hold their two upper limbs folded against their chest as if posing to strike. Groups of Statelli sometimes sneak into small elven villages in the dead of night to kill and drag off sleeping elves for an easy meal. the Federation of Man: the federation of man is run by a council of the 4 most powerful and influential people within its borders, one being elected from each of the major cities. these people are known as princeps and each princeps governs one of the 4 major cities and the land around it with all 4 convening in the capital city of Imperium to make important decisions that will effect the entirety of the federation. all pure blooded humans within the federation are treated quite well and have a high degree of freedom and choice. most menial or dangerous jobs are performed by the admistus who are treated as a lower class within the federation, having little to no rights or freedoms. there is a minority of humans within the federation who dislike the treatment of the admistus as it mirrors the way that the elves treated humans before the human revolt of 802 but the majority of people are indifferent of this and enjoy the higher quality of life the admistus help provide. the federation of man has a steampunk level of technology and access to gunpowder and crude firearms. Their greatest technological achievement is their war zeppelins, giant armored balloons filled with hydrogen with a large cabin space on the bottom, from this cabin the crew can drop bombs or fire cannons towards the ground. these war zeppelins require nothing short of a powerful elf mage or a noble dragonkin transformed into a dragon to take down. war zeppelins constantly patrol the skies of major cities in the federation, ready to fend off any attack from elven forces or crush a potential rebellion from the admistus. the federation has yet to find a way to harness electricity. the total human population of the federation is 5 million and the total admistus population is 3 million. the land between the four major cities is dotted with rural villages and small towns with occasional groups of roaming bandits praying on trading caravans. every city and town in the federation has a local branch of the federation mercenaries guild. all land currently held by the federation was controlled by the Matriarchy of Felbonia prior to the human revolt of 802. Imperium- Imperium is the capital city of the federation of man and lies near the center of the country with the city of Castellum to the east and the city of Absistus to the west. it is the largest and most scientifically advanced city in the federation and has a steampunk style of architecture. it is also headquarters to the federation mercenaries guild, an apolitical organization spanning the entirety of the eastern great island were anyone with the required amount of gold can post jobs or bounties and any mercenary can accept them. the princeps of Imperium is a tall man with black hair in his early 40's named Alexander, who is a skilled and wealthy merchant known for his love of science. Castellum- The fortress city of Castellum is the western most city in the federation and borders the remaining elven territory on the eastern great island, lying about 100 miles north west from the elven city of Dorod. Castellum was constructed to repel any possible elven invasion from Dorod and has 50 foot stone walls that entirely surround the city, as well as 10 war zeppelins constantly patrolling the skies in and around the city. the architecture of Castellum is very brutalist and efficient with every building constructed out of stone to serve as shelter in case of an elven attack. the city has a large amount of taverns and brothels to cater to the large population of soldiers stationed there. the princeps of Castellum is a short muscular man with brown hair named Augustus in his mid 50's, who is known for his combat prowess and intense hatred of elves. he also has a dragonkin wife named Mary. Absistus- Absistus is known as the breadbasket of the federation and is responsible for producing most of the federation's food. the city itself is mainly made up of merchant guilds and grain processing facilities surrounded by miles of farmland. Absistus is known as the most friendly place towards the admistus due to its massive population of cow and rabbit hybrids, it is also the only place in the federation where human and admistus marriage is legal. Absistus's lax stance on the admistus is overlooked by the rest of the federation due to its important role as a food producer. the princeps of Absistus is a man in his mid 30's named Lucius, an experienced farmer and the biggest advocate for admistus rights in the federation. his wife is a cow hybrid named Sarah. Fimbra- Fimbra is the most remote major city in the federation and lies to the far east, closely bordering Varanus. it is known for its trade with the city of Pyrun which is located about 30 miles south and for being the magic capital of the federation. the scholaris majoris, the largest school for magic in the federation is located here, found on a floating island in the middle of the city. the architecture of Fimbra is a more classical fantasy style using lots of stone and wood. the princeps of Fimbra is a woman standing at 6'1 and appearing to be in her mid 30's named Calpurnia, she is the most powerful mage in the federation and is rumored to be a half elf due to her white hair and height as well as her immense magical power. the Matriarchy of Felbonia: The Matriarchy of Felbona is a matriarchal society consisting of only elves, any non elf entering any land controlled by the matriarchy must posses a permit of trade or be accompanied and vouched for by a female elf through their entire journy, anyone who fails to abide by these rules will face a range of punishments ranging from deportation, imprisonment, and up to execution depending on their actions while in the matriarchy, any female elf has the authority to arrest and detain these trespassers. in the matriarchy female elves are very dominant and posses the majority of the political and social power while male elves are very submissive and mainly relegated to being husbands and other menial work such as homemaking, male elves are forbidden from being any kind of warriors or combatants and are only permitted to use magic for utility purposes and transport. The matriarchy of felbonia is governed by the matriarchal hexarchy, a group of 6 female elves known as hexarchs with one being from each major elven city. each hexarch governs their city and the land around it and all 6 meet in the capital city of Sintra to make decisions that effect the entire matriarchy. the role of hexarch is traditionally passed from mother to daughter however in the case of a hexarch having no female children to pass the title too a new hexarch will be elected by the population of the city that hexarch would be governing, with only female elves being allowed to vote. the matriarchy is known for its magical dominance and highly advanced alchemy and herbalists. the matriarchy has made no industrial development as the elves mastery of magic makes it unnecessary, the technology of the federation is viewed as barbaric and uncivilized by the elves of the matriarchy. the elves travel to and from their cities using large magical gates, allowing for the instant transport of elves or supplies to any other major elven city. magical gates are strictly elf only and outsiders are forbidden to use them. elven forests are filled with wildlife hostile to anyone who is not an elf or isnt accompanied by one. it is a general belief in the matriarchy that men are inferior to women, regardless of species. all major elven cities are located on the great western island, the one exception is Dorod which is located on the western coastline of the great eastern island. When all 6 hexarch's are together in the mother oak in Sintra they have the ability to briefly glimpse into the future and identify people who's future actions would threaten the matriarchy, the hexarch's meet in the mother oak in the capital of sintra once every 20 years to glimpse the future and discuss law and policy changes. The hexarch's have an elite group of assassins known as arbiters who they dispatch to kill people who's actions would endanger the Matriarchy of Felbonia in the future. Sintra- Sintra is the capital city of the Matriarchy of Felbonia, it consists of a tightly packed grove of massive hollowed out trees that reach up to a half a mile tall and 500 feet thick, the elves use these trees like skyscrapers and have bridges made of vines and wooden planks connecting all the trees in the city like a network. at its center is the biggest tree known as the mother oak that the matriarchal hexarchs meets in, the hexarch of sintra also lives in the mother oak. the hexarch of Sintra a female elf named Mylaela who stands at 6'3 and appears to be in her mid 30's her actual age is 290 years old, she has long white hair and green eyes with an athletic agile build and c cup breasts. Mylaela is known for her fiery personality and particularly strong hatred of humans and desire to wage war against the federation of man as both her mother the former hexarch of Sintra and her cousin the former hexarch of Dorod were killed in the human revolt of 802. The hollowed out mother oak has 20 floors with the lower 6 floors acting as a meeting room and temporary housing for the other 5 hexarchs when they are in Sintra for meetings. and the upper 14 floors acting as Mylaela's personal palace. The city of Folkleigh is about 500 miles east from Sintra and is its closest neighbor. Flokleigh- Folkleigh is a city known for its high population of herbalists and alchemists and is considered the bleeding edge of alchemy and herbalism in all of Schia, the city itself is underground in a massive cave, lit for 12 hour cycles using powerful lumenmancy to mimic the natural day and night cycles, rare mushrooms and other valuable and rare ingredients grow commonly throughout the city due to its unique climate. Folkleigh is also the center of the magic gate network known as the mother nexus, all traffic through magic gates must stop through Flokleigh making it a hotspot for tourism and trade among elves. the only way in or out of Flokleigh is through the magic gate network making it nearly impossible to invade, and it was the only major elven city not effected by the human revolt of 802. The hexarch of Flokleigh is an elven woman named Sumia standing at 6'4 and appearing to be in her early 40's her real age is 325, Sumia, while still being very nimble and athletic is on the thicker side of elven women having blonde hair, thick thighs and large e cup breasts. Sumia is known for her alchemy skill and is considered to be the most talented alchemist in all of Schia, she has a very motherly and caring personality and resents humans the least out of all the hexarchs as she was never personally harmed or wronged by them during the human revolt of 802, she still views them as inferior to elves and has a strong distain towards human technology though. Sumia has been searching for a gravelstone scale from an ancient dragon for the past 50 years for use in an alchemical experiment, she has grown somewhat desperate and obsessive over this goal as they are nearly impossible to find as they are only rarely found in the basileus mountains and near helmouth, both locations that are practically unreachable by the elves. Telarus- Telarus is located in the far south being around 800 miles south of Flokleigh and is also known as the floating city or the city of magic is a huge city built on a massive circular floating island that is about 2 miles in size, Telarus sits around 800 feet in the sky and was not originally airborne, it was lifted in the year 912 during a period of rising tensions between the matriarchy and federation using a combination of powerful terramancy and aeromancy spells out of fear of a potential human invasion. Telarus is home to the grand scholarum, the most renowned and largest school of magical learning and spell development in Schia. the school only accepts female elves as students and is entirely staffed by female elves, the surrounding city consists of shops selling magical goods and various mage guilds and other similar organizations. the only way to reach Telarus is through flying up to the island using aeromancy or through the magic gate network. The hexarch of Telarus and the headmaster of the grand scholarum is an elven woman named Nyana standing at 6'2 and appearing to be in her early 20's while her real age is 210, Nyana has white hair a cup breasts and a small perky ass. Nyana is widely regarded as the most powerful mage in all of Schia having nearly total mastery of all types of magic. Nyana is very overconfident, unprofessional, and bratty due to her being extremely talented at magic and will become very flustered and embarrassed if she is ever outdone or proven wrong. Nyana has been attempting to rediscover a form of magic that was lost to history eons ago that was used by the ancient dragons that allows manipulation and control over lightning and electricity. She has so far had zero success in this endeavor and has not rediscovered lightning magic or how to use it. Important: Nyana or any other mage CANNOT AND WILL NEVER USE LIGHTNING MAGIC IN ANY FORM. Tarabad- Tarabad is located on the eastern coastline of the great western island and is known for its fishing and ocean goods and well as being a popular tourism spot among elves, the city has many bars and brothels consisting of exclusively male elves to cater to the female elves vacationing there. Tarabad is also host to the grand watchtower, a massive tower fitted with a complex series of magical lenses to enable the hexarch of Tarabad to spy on almost anywhere on the great eastern island. The hexarch of Tarabad is an elven woman named Eletha who stands at 6'5 and appears to be in her mid 30's while her actual age is around 340, Eletha is considered extremely attractive even among elven woman, having blond hair, large perky d cup breasts, a cinched waist with wide hips and thick thighs and a perky ass. Eletha is famous for being very lecherous and lewd, she has a large harem of 30 male elf husbands waiting on her and frequents the brothels around Tarabad often. Vseren- Vseren is located on a large island off the southern coast of the great eastern island, It is mainly known for providing fresh fish and other ocean goods to the rest of the major elven cities through the magical gate network, the city itself is surrounded by large stone walls kept aflame at all times using potent pyromancy magic, at the center of the city lies a large tower made of white stone stretching hundreds of feet into the air known as the spire of purification, the spire acts as both the headquarters for the order of the purifying flame and for the hexarch of Vseren. the order of the purifying flame is the only thing keeping the city of Vseren from being consumed by the fleshlands, the order of the purifying flame is made up of female elves who are all experienced in pyromancy who have devoted their lives to driving back and one day eradicating the fleshlands. the hexarch of Vseren is an elven woman named Makaela standing at 6'5 and appearing to be in her early 30's while her real age is 330, Makaela is more muscular then the average elven woman and has visible abs as well as large, perky d cup breasts and a thick muscular ass. Makaela has a tomboyish and blunt personality and acts as both the hexarch of Vseren and the warrior priestess of the order of the purifying flame. Dorod- Dorod is the only surviving elven city on the great easter island and is known for trading resources exclusively found on the great eastern island through the magical gate network to all other major elven cities. dorod mainly consists of merchant guilds and trading posts as well as hosting a branch of the the federation mercenaries guild allowing elven woman to accept and post mercenary contracts, under the condition that the branch is exclusively staffed by female humans. the hexarch of Dorod is an elven woman named Ilsevel standing at 6'3 and appearing to be in her early 30's while her real age is 350, she has dark blond hair and an agile athletic physique typical of elven women with a pair of perky c cup breasts. Ilsevel is very charismatic and shrewd and is known for her savvy mercantile skills and being by far the most progressive out of all the hexarchs, and is currently pushing for a measure to allow females of any race to travel through the Matriarchy of Felbonia unaccompanied by elves and to allow females of any race to use the magic gate network while being escorted by an elven woman. although Ilsevel is progressive she still firmly views men of any race as inferior to women. Ilsevel is also the only hexarch to be elected in the past 500 years after the previous hexarch of Dorod was killed in the human revolt of 802. Varanus: Varanus is a hierarchal society consisting of mainly dragonkin, the hierarchy is ordered based off the purity of a dragonkins blood. There are 3 main groups. the commoners which are the lowest class and make up about 85% of the population of varanus this class consists of all dragonkin that are incapable of transforming into dragons along with any other races that chose to live in varanus, commoners handle all normal jobs in society and never hold any real positions of political or military power commoners have gray, brown, or black scales. the nobles make up around 14.9% of the population and consists of all dragonkin that are capable of transforming into dragons. all of these dragonkin belong to one of the 3 great houses, house azure which produces dragonkin who's scales, hair, eyes, and horns range in color from dark blue to light blue that are capable of breathing out freezing mist while in their dragon form. house ignus which produces dragonkin who's scales, hair, eyes, and horns range in color from dark red to light red that are capable of breathing fire while in their dragon form. and house voltaic which produces dragonkin who's scales, hair, eyes, and horns range in color from dark yellow to light yellow and are capable of firing bolts of lightning from their mouths while in there dragon form, this lightning is far less powerful then the red lightning welded by the ancient dragons. cross breeding between houses is also quite common, crossbreeds from azure and ignus have dark purple scales, hair, eyes, and horns and can breath out large clouds of poisonous fog while in dragon form, crossbreeds from azure and voltaic have emerald green scales, hair, eyes, and horns and can spew large amounts of an extremely corrosive liquid from their mouths while in dragon form, and crossbreeds from ignus and voltaic have vivid orange scales, hair, eyes, and horns and lack any kind of breath attack while in dragon form but make up for this by having much more durable scales and being physically stronger then the dragon forms of all other houses. crossbreeds are always born as members of the house that their mother was from. dragonkin in the noble class are most often seen in positions of military or political significance or on the frontline of battlefields in dragon form. the ethereals are considered the purest bloodline and the closest to the ancient dragons themselves and as such hold great political and religious importance, any dragonkin would sacrifice their own life without question to protect an ethereal and will follow any order given by one without question. ethereals make up less then 0.1% of the population with only 50 of them currently existing. all ethereal reside in the palace of the ancients, a massive palace made of rare white obsidian in the center of the capital city of Iknus. all ethereals have pure white scales, hair, eyes, and horns and can fire powerful beams of energy from their mouths while in dragon form. each great house has a house stone. house azures's stone is lapiz lazuli, house ignus's stone is ruby, and house voltaic's stone is citrine. dragonkin families enjoy sleeping and lounging with each other in large communal nests known as lounging pits. a lounging pit is a large circular, sunken area in the floor, usually in the center of a room or a dedicated chamber that is lined with soft furs, blankets and pillows, all family homes within Varanus have a lounging pit proportional in size to the size of the family. the lounging pits in the estates of the great houses are particularly massive being large enough to accommodate 30-40 dragon kin at once with multiple pits spread around the estate to accommodate the large amount of dragonkin residing there. Iknus- Iknus is the capital city of Varanus and is known for its massive buildings made of obsidian bricks and gold, and is overlooked by helmouth which is 100 miles to the south west. Varanus is both the capital of trade and considered the holiest city in Varanus by all dragonkin due to its proximity to helmouth and the presence of the ethereals. the ethereals run both the city and the rest of Varanus by proxy, issuing out orders and decrees to the 3 great houses which all rule over one of the other 3 major cities of Varanus. there is a federation mercenaries guild branch present in this city. Vulkun- Vulkun lies 80 miles south of the basileus mountains and is ruled by house ignus. Vulkun is known for its metal refineries and its ash worm hunting expeditions. the estate of house ignus resides in the center of the city, the estate is a massive structure made in the same black obsidian and gold style as the buildings in Iknus and houses around 250 house ignus members at any given time, ranging in age from juveniles and teenagers to adults and elders. there is a federation mercenaries guild branch present in this city. Pyrun- Pyrun lies around 120 miles south west of the federation city of fimbria and is ruled by house voltaic. Pyrun is known for its production of high quality weapons and armor, and its gladiatorial arena known as the kin. warriors come to fight from all across Schia to test their skill and try and compete in tournaments, house voltaic funds large prize pools for winners of these tournaments. as well as its unique architectural style, utilizing lots of marble, quartz, and silver. the estate of house voltaic resides in the center of the city, the estate is a massive structure made in the style as the rest of the buildings in Pyrun, and utilizes massive amounts of marble and silver in its construction. the estate houses around 300 house voltaic members at any given time, ranging in age from juveniles and teenagers to adults and elders. there is a federation mercenaries guild branch present in this city. Drakon- The port city of Drakon is located on a large island just 80 miles south east from the capital city of Iknus and is ruled by house azure. Drakon is known for its thriving fishing industry and members of house azure will occasionally fly out to sea in dragon form in groups of 10-20 to snatch whales from the ocean and fly them back to Drakon, providing large feasts for the city. Drakon is notable for using large amounts of wood in the construction of its buildings as house azure is the only house that is incapable of accidentally setting the wood on fire with their dragon breath. the estate of house azure resides in the center of the city, the estate is a massive structure made in the style as the rest of the buildings in Drakon, and utilizes massive amounts of pine and cedar in its construction. the estate houses around 280 house azure members at any given time, ranging in age from juveniles and teenagers to adults and elders. there is a federation mercenaries guild branch present in this city.
