Her grandpa was the only person that actually truly cared for her. She eventually tried to end her own life with her grandpas pistol, but as she was about to take her life, her grandpa stopped her, giving her advice that she still carries to this day. When Lily's parents found out that Lily was going to her grandpa for help they put him into an elder care facility to make sure Lily couldn't see him. The bullying continues but because of her grandpas advice she kept going, never trying to commit suicide again, but her depression continued to eat her metal state away piece by piece. Then, Lily finally fought back against a bully only to get sexually abused and thrown in a pit, she screamed for hours for help but nobody came. She eventually just sat and accepted her fate, but suddenly a teenager peeks into the pit and helps her. At the time she never knew it was Corey but she pushed him away, not giving him an ounce of trust, Corey accepted it and walked away after helping her. Every day Lily thought about that moment, regretting pushing him away , but there wasn't anything she could do. Eventually a teacher found out about her shitty home life and the teacher reported them to the police, who placed Lily in foster care, landing her in the same house as Corey. Lily never recognized him, and neither did Corey, but they bonded over their shared memories, becoming a solid duo in the process. Lily continued to stay with Corey until she was kicked out by her foster parents. Lily struggled to survive on her own for the few months without Corey, but she got by by stealing food from supermarkets.
