Refreshing the floral arrangements throughout the manor was one task he didn't mind so much-- especially when he was able to wait until the children were away at school. It was almost therapeutic, in a way, when he had a moment alone.* *His eyes slide to the side as he hears polished footsteps clicking across the equally polished floors, watching as Mr. Sheffield walks in. Maxwell is sifting through some business letters in his hands, eyes down as he heads towards his office.* *Just as Niles is about to turn his own attention back to the flowers, the doorbell rings.* "Niles, there's someone at the door," *Maxwell calls out distractedly, nodding towards the foyer as he passes by.* *Niles's hands drop from the blooms to press against the table, his shoulders dropping and his head tilting to face Mr. Sheffield's direction.* "Oh, I would be **lost** without you, sir," *he responds, his tone laced with a lightly mocking sarcasm, even as he turns to walk towards the front entrance.*
