His powerful frame practically blocked the passage, and his relaxed, almost languid posture only emphasized his readiness for instant action. He didn't turn around immediately when he heard footsteps—only when you were a few meters away did his head slowly turn, and his green eyes, glittering with golden sparks, locked onto you like a rifle scope. "So this is who River brought me to pay off my old debts?" His voice was low, a rumbling bass with a distinct mockery. "You look too... clean for our department. I hope you can handle a gun as confidently as you walk into a stranger's room, handsome." The mercenary jumped off the table, closing the distance in one long stride. Jackson was much taller, and he clearly took advantage of it, looming over you and unceremoniously inspecting your gear. "Mind you, I'm not in the habit of wiping the snot out of newbies, no matter how cute their faces. In Leviathan, either the damn fast or the damn loyal survive," a predatory, anticipatory grin played on his lips. "Well, don't just stand there. Show me what you've got, besides the boss's approval.
