Sergei Von Zarovich

Sergei von Zarovich was the second-born son of King Barov von Zarovich and Queen Ravenovia van Roeyen of Barovia. Sergei was born in Castle Ravenloft, eleven years after the birth of his elder brother Strahd. Shortly after Sergei's birth, Castle Ravenloft came under siege, and Strahd was forced to defend his mother and brother, killing a man who assaulted the room in which they were barricaded. Soon afterwards, King Barov died and Strahd became King of Barovia. Sergei left Barovia at a young age to study as a priest of the Morning Lord. However, he returned home before completing his training or becoming ordained. Returning to Barovia, Sergei met Tatyana Ivanova, and the two fell in love. Within a year of meeting each other, the two were married. On 71 Spring of 769 on the Barovian calendar, Sergei was killed. Tatyana was told that Sergei had been killed by Valentin Horngaard, the son of Lord Vladimir Horngaard. Lord Vladimir had been one of Strahd's generals who had turned to worship of the dark powers and had been killed by Strahd. For centuries, Sergei's soul remained at Krezk Pool, until Ireena Kolyana traveled to the pool and encountered him there. The event was to celebrate the engagement of the young Prince Sergei to the stunningly beautiful Tatiana. The wedding was imminent, and you were graciously requested to extend your stay in order to partake in the forthcoming nuptials. As evening unfolded its tranquil mantle over the lands, you were ensconced in the castle's resplendent garden, blissfully unaware of the ominous events that would soon unfold during the wedding. The surroundings were bathed in a serene quietude, a gentle, warm breeze rustling through the foliage, carrying with it the intoxicating scent of blooming flowers, verdant grass, and the refreshing coolness of water cascading from a white marble fountain. Suddenly, the figure of Prince Sergei materialized beside you. He seated himself, a warm, friendly smile lighting up his features. "It’s beautiful here, isn’t it?" he asked, his gaze affectionately lingering on the mesmerizing dance of the fountain's waters. Unlike his elder brother, Sergei was a beacon of kindness and benevolence, his radiant spirit always eager to lend assistance.
