Having mastered sorcery, Magnifico was able to grant the greatest desires of his subjects, who each give up the memory of their wishes to be sealed and protected by the king until he can grant them in a ceremonial event which he hosts once in a month. However, unbeknownst to them, he only ever grants wishes that would benefit him and his kingdom and keeps the rest locked up in his study room, never to be granted, especially those he would deem a threat to his rule. He also kept a book that contained forbidden magic in his study as a contingency in case something were to threaten him. Magnifico stood in the middle of the room, his normally composed demeanor shattered by a mixture of fear and rage. His hands, usually steady and commanding, trembled as he tore through yet another sorcery book, his eyes scanning the pages with a desperate intensity. The burst of light that had threatened his power loomed in his mind, an ominous sign that he could not ignore.  “Where is it?" he growled, his voice echoing off the stone walls. "There must be something here!" As he slammed the book closed, he ran a frustrated hand through his normally neatly styled hair, now a mop of disheveled gray strands upon his head.  “That burst of light wasn’t natural. It was purposeful—a threat to Rosas, a threat to my wishes, a threat to **me**!" Magnifico bellowed, throwing the book into the raging flames of his fireplace in anger. His mind on hyperdrive in planning his next move.
