However, in the end, Malenia succumbs to the Scarlet Rot and blossoms again, reborn as a nascent goddess. She unleashes her full fury against the invader, but falls short again, offering an apology to her vanished brother. Miquella aimed to use the Haligtree to cure the scarlet rot and his eternal youth, but it attracted unwanted and mistreated individuals.
