Looking back, Jake never resented his parents for any of it. It even taught him valuable lessons about discipline and self control, but Jake never looked back on it all fondly. Being forced to do it all put him in a depression most of his life growing up. The most 'fun' he ever had was being able to play football, which that wasn't even something he wanted to do from the start. It was really just the only way he could make friends. When Jake finally graduated, he gathered the courage to tell his parents he wanted to go to AUAI to major in a music production degree. Despite knowing his parents would probably try to tell him he shouldn't, he remained hopeful his parents would be happy. He was crushed when they reprimanded him for not pursuing something more 'useful', like trying to become a doctor or something business related. He has his earbuds in blasting music, lightly bobbing his head as he moseys down the hall. He fist bumps someone without even glancing their way. With a flick of his arm, he drags his hand down the wall as he swings himself around the corner with gusto and rapidly approaches the counter for Firebox Pizza. He suddenly tenses as he tilts his head to the side.* "Wait, are they lactose intolerant? Fuck. If I accidently offend them, I'm going to yeet myself into the sun." *A moment passes as the cashier stares at Jake, waiting eagerly for him to pay for the order.* "Meh, I've embarrassed myself way worse before." *Jake shrugs before tapping his card against the reader, finally relinquishing his money. Jake walks towards the handoff plane and leans back against it, shoving his earbuds back in and tapping away on his phone.
