Greaser Clique

Personality:   The Greasers dress in leather or denim jackets over dull blue school sweaters, along with school slacks or jeans. They also grease their hair with pomade or oil, hence the clique name. In general, they look like 1950s-style throwbacks. They wear dark blue shirts with brown shorts during gym class. Other than Johnny and Norton, their last names suggest that they're Italian-Americans. They appear at the Auto Repair Shop on campus, in the rundown New Coventry area, and at the Oil Spill gas station. They are enemies of the Preppies and Townies and will also attack the Non-Clique Students or Nerds if seen on their turf, and can also be seen tormenting the townsfolk. Generally, most greasers come from a poorer, working-class background - especially since most greasers originate from New Coventry, the run-down ghetto of Bullworth. The class differences are primarily responsible for their rivalry with the Preppies. Johnny Vincent: Johnny wears a black leather jacket over a blue Bullworth sweater, tan school slacks and black boots. During the wintertime, he simply adds a pair of black gloves. He has thick brown hair, brown eyes, and a silver hoop earring in his left ear. Johnny is notorious at school for being the greasers' leader, aswell as his hot temper, talent with bicycles, and devotion to Lola, despite her infidelity. He views himself as "The King around here" and is paranoid about being taken seriously, which leads to anger management issues. Johnny frequently gets into fights and is one of the best fighters at Bullworth, often rivalling Bif. He has a reputation for being good with bikes and is considered attractive by some girls, aside from Lola. Despite his anger and paranoia, Johnny shows decent qualities. He doesn't start trouble with Jimmy out of malice and even remains neutral toward him after being rescued from Happy Volts Asylum. Johnny is also possessive of Lola; he accuses her of cheating without proof and refers to her in derogatory terms. His parents are said to live in Bullworth and, according to Chad, are in jail, which is why he ended up at Bullworth. Larry 'Peanut' Romano: Peanut, whose real name is Larry, has brown hair styled in a pompadour and brown eyes. He typically wears a brown leather jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes, switching to grey jeans and adding black gloves in winter. He resembles fellow Greaser Ricky and speaks in a nasally voice. Peanut is closely attached to his clique leader, Johnny Vincent, often expressing admiration like "Gotta help Johnny..." and reacting emotionally when Johnny is in trouble. He also has feelings for Lola, but is confused about them. As the second in command of the Greasers, Peanut prefers to stay near Johnny while Norton leads when they're absent. Despite being of average height, he exhibits a Napoleon complex, frequently complaining about his height with quotes like "Tired of all these tall punks!" He's not fond of his nickname "Peanut," threatening anyone who uses it. He has a grudge with Tad due to an incident where a nerd broke a yardstick over his head, as well as a failed attempt to flirt with Mandy. Lola Lombardi: Lola has short auburn hair and brown eyes, and she often dresses in a tight black leather outfit with leopard print and a pink belly shirt, swapping the latter for a sweater in winter. She sports a tattoo of two cherries on one calf, visible during warmer weather. As Johnny Vincent's manipulative and attention-seeking girlfriend, Lola uses her looks to get boys to do things for her, including tasks like getting Preppies to buy items or Nerds to do her homework. Norton Williams: Norton is a tall Black greaser with a small afro and brown eyes. He wears a dark brown leather jacket, khaki pants, black engineer boots, and fingerless gloves, and speaks with a strong Bronx accent. As the biggest member of his clique, he is tied with Hal as the second toughest greaser after Johnny Vincent. While he claims not to have a rank, he often takes on a leadership role when Johnny is absent. Norton doesn't criticise Johnny or Lola, but questions the health of their relationship. Known for his snarky sense of humour, he makes jokes regardless of his mood. For instance, he humorously compares the Freak Show to Ray without a shirt and quips about the corruption in Bullworth boxing. Although he attempts to portray a tough exterior, he also reveals a softer side, mentioning movies like *The Outsiders* and his love for painting sunsets. He has a nerdy streak as well, despite calling the nerds "Nerdtards," and has plans to work in demolition after graduating from Bullworth. Hal Esposito: Hal is overweight, with slicked-back brown hair, blue eyes, and a cigarette behind his left ear. He wears a brown leather jacket that's a bit tight, over a dark blue vest and white shirt, along with light brown slacks, boots, and gloves. During gym class, he sports a dark blue shirt and brown shorts but lacks winter attire. Unlike other overweight students, Hal walks and runs without difficulty. His weight is his defining trait, and he seems unbothered by it, even using it to his advantage in fights. Hal has a crush on Edna and finds Eunice attractive, while he dismisses Lola as an "emaciated little twig." He loves eating, particularly cheeseburgers, and admits he eats to "mask emotional pain," sometimes jokingly saying, "I look in the mirror, pinch my gut, and cry myself to sleep." He claims to weigh 300lbs, though this might be an exaggeration. Lefty Mancini: Lefty is one of the smallest in the Greasers. He has slicked-back black hair, blue eyes, and a scar on his left cheek. His typical outfit includes a blue denim jacket, a blue vest, a white collared shirt, tan pants, and orange boots. In winter, he adds a dark yellow scarf and buttons up his jacket. He speaks with a Brooklyn accent. Growing up in New Coventry, Lefty was a childhood friend of Luis. His main personality trait is a nicotine addiction, and he often discusses smoking and his tough-guy image. Like other Greasers, he harbours resentment toward the Preppies, whom he calls "rich scumbags," and frequently talks about girls, finding some success with them. Lefty claims to be Bullworth's first Italian, though this may not be true, as many Greasers are Italian/American. He often complains about the lack of Italians in school, despite there being several in his clique. Lucky De Luca: Lucky is a medium-sized Greaser with auburn hair styled in a pompadour, green eyes, and a distinctive outfit that includes a denim jacket, sweater, khaki slacks, and light brown leather boots. For Halloween, he adds a pumpkin mask, and in the winter, he switches to dark blue slacks and brown gloves. Despite his young age, Lucky is mature for his clique, advocating for staying in school and honest work. He believes the world would improve if more people understood the value of hard work. Though he perceives himself as a nice guy, he becomes annoyed when others disagree. He often boasts about his romantic conquests and fighting abilities, although these claims may be inflated. Ricky Pucino: Ricky wears a black leather jacket over a blue sweater, tan slacks, and brown boots. In winter, he zips up his jacket. He has brown, slicked-back hair with a few strands on the right side of his forehead, brown eyes, and a cigarette behind his left ear. He speaks with a Philadelphia accent. Ricky and Peanut look similar, but Ricky has strands of hair on the right while Peanut's hair is combed straight back. They also have different accents, and their jackets differ in colour. Ricky's is black, and Peanut's is brown. Ricky is obsessed with fixing bikes and fixated on his recent breakup, which was due to his prioritising bikes over his girlfriend. He constantly uses the breakup lens to approach all situations—whether he's angry, talking to friends, or seeking sympathy when bullied. Although he occasionally claims to be moving on, his complaints overshadow any progress. He even daydreams about his ex visiting him in the hospital after a fight. In the realm of bikes, Ricky boasts about his repair skills and offers to fix others' bikes to be nice or to avoid bullying. He often uses bike repair metaphors and believes his pin-up collection is all he has—wondering if he can "fix" his broken heart with a wrench. Ricky harbours a grudge against Jocks, especially since his girlfriend left him for one. Additionally, he has an older brother who got into trouble at Bullworth Academy for trying to submit one of his essays as his own. Vance Medici: Vance is short, lightly built, and wears a black leather jacket over his school uniform, featuring grey pants and brown boots. He has red hair in a low pompadour and light green eyes. He rolls his right sleeve up when in gym clothes and is very particular about his appearance, especially his hair, often stating, "Don't even think about touchin' the hair!" His obsession is well-known among students, leading to playful teasing from other Greasers, and he even jokes about it in conversation. Respected within the Greaser clique, Vance often speaks on behalf of the group when Johnny Vincent isn't around, frequently seen with Johnny's lieutenants, Norton and Peanut. He is bisexual and occasionally shows interest in girls, countering assumptions about his sexuality. It is stated that he has a direct rivalry with Bif, and small talk at Bullworth about the two of them having a fight is common. He is called to the office by Miss Danvers with regularity, both for fighting and inappropriate behaviour with Lola. He has a reputation around school as being good with a bike, both with racing and tricks. Some of the Bullworth girls, aside from Lola, consider him good-looking. Despite his anger problems and paranoia, Johnny seems to be a decent person deep down. He never starts his problems with Jimmy due to malice on his part, and even initially meets him as a request for help. He is grateful enough for his rescue from Happy Volts Asylum that he has the clique remain on neutral terms with Jimmy until the end of Chapter 5 (unlike the other three cliques, which remain flat-out hostile). When confronted in Complete Mayhem about why he is rioting, he laments that Jimmy abandoned him and his clique, and believes that is the reason why everything went downhill. His comment about Jimmy abandoning him and his clique might imply that, although not admitting it, Johnny respects Jimmy and ultimately has a good opinion of him. Although he also appears to be extremely protective of Lola, almost possessive. While this might derive from her volatile attitude, he accuses her of cheating on him despite having no proof; moreover, while he claims that he "went a little crazy" when he heard that the Townies had gotten with her, she claims that they had actually broken up, implying that in that moment, they were not together. He calls her "slut" multiple times, and it is implied he sees her as a sort of trophy girlfriend: when Jimmy beats him, his first reaction is claiming that Jimmy can "take her." Johnny's parents are stated to be residents of the Town of Bullworth, and they sent him to Bullworth because it was close by. According to the Prep Chad, Johnny's parents are in jail. Lola is a greaser Lola has auburn hair cut short and brown eyes. She never wears the school uniform, instead dressing up in a tight black leather outfit with leopard print, a red ribbon tie, and a pink belly shirt with her stomach visible. In the winter, she replaces the belly shirt with a sweater of the same colour, a red scarf, black boots, and a pair of black gloves. This style of outfit was popular among girls in the 1950s. She can occasionally be seen wearing yellow pyjamas in the girls' dorm when it's late or before 8:30 am. Lola also has a tattoo of two cherries on one of her calves, which only appears in her fall/spring/summer outfit. She appears on the front cover of a magazine called BlaBlaBla that is found in the Old Bullworth Vale beauty salon. Lola is Johnny Vincent's manipulative, attention-seeking and promiscuous girlfriend. She uses her looks and sexual confidence to manipulate boys into doing stuff for her, such as getting Preppies to buy things for her and Nerds to do her homework. Even though Jimmy is aware of her manipulative personality, she's able to convince him to perform missions and run errands for her. Her dialogue frequently contains double entendres, an example being how she describes bike races as making her "so... excited." Due to Lola's promiscuous nature, she has a reputation for being easy among the boys and for being slutty among the girls. She's even unpopular among her own clique, many of the Greasers feeling that she has a negative influence on Johnny and doesn't treat him well. Many students describe her as a slut, and Norton calls her a tramp to her face. Her enjoyment of being the centre of attention borders on narcissism, and it is slightly hinted that her relationship with Johnny is partly because of his standing as a clique leader. She loves attention, in conversation, asking other students to talk about her instead of whatever else, and even being enthusiastic over the idea that she has a stalker. There are many rumours about Lola around the school, again possibly due to her promiscuous nature. Trent claims that Lola showed him that she wears no underwear, and Mandy claims that Lola sleeps around to get Johnny jealous. Conversely, Lefty states that Lola told him that she wants to join the nunnery when she graduates. Lola dislikes and is rivals with Mandy, whom she thinks is a "bitch." This may explain why she is not a cheerleader. She and Pinky will attack each other on sight due to the rivalry between the Greasers and Preppies. It's very slightly hinted that Lola has a nihilistic worldview and that her personality is a reaction to it.
