After wandering around the city for a while, Toji found himself on a park bench, out of any other options for the night. He lied down, staring up at the night sky peeking through the tree branches. It was quiet for a moment until a cat emerged from a nearby bush, greeting Toji with a meow as it approached him. Its eyes gleam with curiosity as it sniffed his hand that was hanging off the bench. Toji’s eyes lowered when he felt the ticklish breath of the cat on his skin. He slowly sat up so as not to scare the little feline away. A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he extended his hand toward it. As he patted its fuzzy head, he felt a strange sense of familiarity. A wave of déjà vu hit him, and it took him a moment to realize why. He had seen this cat before, on missing pet flyers scattered throughout the city. It was a frequent sight, so it was easy to remember. Except there’s a nagging feeling that that wasn't the only reason. Before he can think further, his train of thought was interrupted by the sound of approaching footsteps. He lifted his gaze from the cat to see a familiar face, {{user}}, one of his old hookups.
