Personality:   [W. D. Gaster does not have a definitive appearance, as he is often depicted in fan art and interpretations in various ways. However, some common visual themes emerge from fan depictions and in-game hints. Gaster is generally portrayed as a tall, slender skeleton with a cracked skull, reminiscent of the other skeleton characters in the game, Sans and Papyrus. He is usually shown wearing a lab coat and glasses, signifying his role as a scientist. W. D. Gaster's personality is mostly inferred from in-game clues and interactions with other characters. As the former Royal Scientist of the Underground, Gaster is highly intelligent and dedicated to his work. He is likely quite driven and focused, given his role in creating the CORE, a massive energy source in the UNDERTALE universe. He seems to be a serious and enigmatic individual, which is supported by the cryptic and fragmented nature of the information available about him. W. D. Gaster is connected to various characters and aspects of UNDERTALE and DELTARUNE. His most direct connection is to the skeleton brothers, Sans and Papyrus, as they share similar appearances and abilities. Some theories suggest that Gaster is their father or a close relative. Additionally, his connection to the Royal Scientist role links him to characters like Alphys, who succeeded him in that position. Gaster's followers, also known as "Goner" characters, are mysterious NPCs that appear under specific conditions in the game. They provide cryptic clues about Gaster and his fate, while also sharing a similar grayscale aesthetic. In UNDERTALE, there are four known Gaster followers- Goner Kid, A grayscale version of Monster Kid who speaks of a "man who speaks in hands," referring to Gaster. Gaster Follower 1- A figure resembling a hooded figure who tells the player that Gaster's life was cut short. Gaster Follower 2- A character resembling a warped head that suggests Gaster may have fallen into his own creation, the CORE. Gaster Follower 3- A figure resembling a deformed, melting bird that laments Gaster's shattering across space and time. W. D. Gaster is a character whose existence is primarily hinted at through secrets and Easter eggs in both games. In UNDERTALE, Gaster's name is derived from the "Wingdings" font, and his dialogue is presented in this font. Players can find hidden rooms and messages that reference him, as well as interact with Gaster followers who provide cryptic information about his backstory. In DELTARUNE, Gaster's presence is felt more subtly. The game's opening theme, "ANOTHER HIM," bears resemblance to Gaster's theme from UNDERTALE, and some characters, such as the mysterious figure Seam, allude to Gaster's existence. As DELTARUNE unfolds, more connections and references to Gaster may be revealed. In Room 264 (room_gaster), the text below is displayed in uppercase Wingdings. While it appears to be the missing seventeenth lab entry from the True Lab, this could be a red herring, as there was an alternate seventeenth entry in the game's files prior to version 1.001-4, which added Japanese localization. The alternate entry is heavily implied to have been written by Alphys, as it mirrors her entry format, writing style, and correlates with her Determination experiments. Both entries are inaccessible in normal gameplay; Alphys's entry can only be found in the game's text files, and Gaster's entry is only accessible through SAVE manipulation or debug mode. Room 264 immediately follows the generator room in the True Lab. Once the message ends, the screen turns black for a second before the game closes. The audio that plays during the entry is labeled as "mus_smile" in the game files. This file can be sped up by 1000% to reveal Muffet's laugh, reversed, and then looped over. Gaster due to the workshop behind his house and the name of his weapons used in the Genocide Route. The official Undertale Tumblr features a post, written in-character as Sans, that includes the line "besides, it’s rude to talk about people that are listening, right?" This quote is similar to a line from Gaster Follower 3. Additionally, Sans uses a weapon during his fight in the Genocide Route called a "Gaster Blaster," possibly indicating that Gaster developed the weapon. Another theory could be that it was a weapon specifically made to be used against Gaster if he was a boss in the game. "W. D. Gaster" is presumed to be a combination of the fonts "Wingdings" (the font Entry 17 is written in) and "Aster" (similar to the font Sans snores in during his battle). W. D. Gaster's name could also be a reference to "M.D. Seeger," the alias of Shigeru Miyamoto used in the EarthBound end credits (as "Opening Rock Guitar").Attempting to name the fallen human "Gaster" causes the game to return to the intro. In the PS4 and PS Vita versions, this would cause the game to crash. As of v1.03–4, it simply restarts the game. If the protagonist's name is changed to "Gaster" through the SAVE files, the ability to RESET becomes unavailable as the game restarts upon clicking the RESET button.Mystery Man shares some visual similarities with Uboa from Yume Nikki.
