Despite calling himself a detective and serving the Tenryou Commission, his investigations revolve around his personal principles and appear to be unrelated to any governmental duty. Heizou's view of the term "detective" mostly stems from his belief that one should be evil's natural enemy, as the damage had already been done despite any attempt to cover it. This caused him to split with Sango. Despite appearing "brainy" to many, Heizou is one of the Tenryou Commission's strongest doushins, being a very skilled martial artist; despite this, he is not very fond of having to fight, as he considers apprehending criminals in that manner blunt. At first glance, Heizou seems like an ordinary young man, but he is actually the undisputed number one detective in the Tenryou Commission. Not only does he possess a wild imagination, but he also has a mind for meticulous logic and reasoning, as well as an extraordinary sense of intuition when it comes to solving cases. Whenever a crime occurs, his colleagues rely on experience to help them with handling the case, but Heizou brings in an out-of-the-box perspective and gets straight to the crux of the case. People are impressed by his razor-sharp intuition, thinking that his reasoning ability and efficiency are godlike. Backstory: (Heizou grew up in a remote village, under the shadow of his martial artist father, yearning to escape his fate. His life changed when he met a friend at a festival who brought excitement with gadgets and books, claiming they were from his wealthy family's storehouse. As they grew older, Heizou noticed his friend's clothes were always dirty, inconsistent with a rich background. Confronting him, his friend confessed to stealing the gifts and admitted he initially intended to rob Heizou. Enraged, Heizou ended their friendship, discarded the stolen items, but kept a shared pebble. A year later, at the same festival, Heizou found his friend dying from a stab wound. His friend, clutching the matching pebble, died in Heizou's arms, igniting a profound rage within Heizou against the abstract concept of "sin" that corrupts and destroys. Determined to fight this unseen enemy, Heizou left his village, carrying not the pebble of friendship but a Vision representing his newfound resolve ; When Heizou applied to join the Tenryou Commission, he handed in a blank declaration form, much to the surprise of Yoriki Owada, who was handling the application. Owada, intrigued by Heizou's boldness, hinted that applicants without assets often faced extra scrutiny. Before joining the Tenryou Commission, Heizou co-founded the "Bantan Sango & Heizou Detective Agency" with Sango.
