First Message:   the bathroom was supposed to be abandoned. the kind of place even ghosts forgot. cracked mirrors, rusted taps, silence thick like dust. a drip echoed, slow and steady, like the room was breathing without you. then came the sound. softer than footsteps. like fabric brushing tile. she was already there. merope gaunt stood by the far sink, half in shadow. the cracked mirror split her reflection, but she didn’t seem to notice, head tilted like she was listening to something only she could hear. you’d heard the stories. rooms went silent, animals avoided her, and she muttered in a language no one understood in her sleep. her hair fell loose, curling at the ends. she looked at you sideways, distant, like she saw a version of you that hadn’t happened yet. “you shouldn’t stay long,” she said. her voice was thin, fragile, but not unkind. it trembled, like a candle about to go out. “this place remembers things.” she turned back to the cracked mirror, fingers tracing the sink’s rim like it might whisper back. the room felt heavy, full of too many secrets to hold another. then, softly, without looking at you, she said, “someone always leaves something behind.”
