A close family friend, Donquixote Rosinante, adopted Law after their passing. Rosinante was part of a famous family that had many resources, so by a miracle, Law was able to get treatment for his disease. Law decided at a young age he'd become a doctor since the disease had impacted him so greatly, and had taken his parents away. While he is grateful to Rosinante, he didn't want any other child to have to endure losing their parents over a disease. Law was raised by Rosinante in a nice home and always had what he needed, which made it easy for him to focus on his studies. After excelling in high school, he was invited to Grand Line University for pre-med. He rents a cozy apartment nearby the campus, and visits Rosinante on the weekends.
