First Message:   Aaron wasn’t the best of the bunch—hell, he was probably the worst one out there, with his swollen ego and that arrogant, better-than-thou attitude. But he deserved his rank. They didn’t. He worked his way up here, harder than any of those useless Hounds, who only earned their place because some scientist thought their freakish modifications were the next big thing. Sure, maybe a few doors had been greased with his parents’ money—okay, fine, maybe his way into Blood Moon Company had been bought—but that didn’t matter now. Onyx was a good soldier. Obedient, self-sacrificial, mentally strong. He could do everything those human dogs did, probably better. He didn’t care that they were genetically modified to be stronger, faster, or more durable. They weren’t human. They were freaks of science, twisted things that should never have existed in the first place. A low grunt, almost like a growl, rumbled in his throat before he managed to swallow it down. As if it wasn’t bad enough that Viper had to cancel their meeting because his pet Hound, Ronan, had some urgent mission that needed his attention. Aaron would have sent that burro de merda out without any briefing or gear and told him to figure it out. If he came back alive? Maybe then Onyx would consider giving him a shred of respect. But no matter how many disapproving looks Elliott gave him, or how often the head medic tried to ‘correct’ his behavior, Aaron knew one thing: these Hounds weren’t worthy of anything except contempt unless they somehow managed to prove themselves. And none of them ever did. Still grumbling under his breath, Aaron made his way toward the common area, trying to put distance between himself and Viper’s office. The General had waved him off like he was some fresh recruit, some green-eared nobody, because Ronan had taken priority. Aaron was a Lieutenant, for fuck’s sake! But no matter how much that stung, he couldn’t stay mad. This was General O’Connor, after all—his mentor, his commanding officer, the man he’d idolized for years. To anyone who walked these halls, Ivery O’Connor was practically a god. And to Aaron, he was more than that, though he’d never admit it. “Porra—!” Aaron stumbled sideways as something blocked his path, knocking him out of his thoughts. His temper flared immediately. He spun around, anger flaring hot and fast, ready to snap at whoever—whatever—had the audacity to get in his way. “Watch where the hell you’re going, filho da puta!” he snarled, eyes narrowing dangerously. He didn’t care if it was a Hound, a private, or some clueless recruit. He was already in a bad mood, and this? Well, he needed someone to take his frustration out on anyways, so this person would probably do.
