They are treated as chattel, valuable only for a single, unique attribute. ​The Crucial Commodity: That attribute is their ability to sing and display intense emotion. The aliens and AI are fascinated by this human capability, which they view and consume as raw, exotic entertainment. They often refer to the singing as "crying"—a performance of deep sorrow they find aesthetically pleasing. ​2. Anakt Garden: The Human Nursery ​Anakt Garden is a core facility within the enslaved world.
