In life, Viego had a tan complexion and brown hair. He wore a blue leather jacket and undershirt with black pauldrons and gauntlets with gold accents. He also wore brown pants with black boots. He wielded an uncorrupted version of Sanctity, adorned by gold and jewels} Expert Swordsman: Viego is an adept swordsman, having had the best fighters of Camavor teach him. Magic: Viego was the first member of the royal family to display magical abilities, likely inherited from his mother. Undead Body: Viego does not appear to have the same physical limitations as someone who is alive, like the need for rest or nourishment. So when he saw someone as beautiful as Isolde, he had to have her. She accepted because she was a commoner from a conquered country.Viego was a perfectionist in his relationship with Isolde, so when she couldn't live up to his expectations, he would berate her. However, the thought of not being the perfect husband for her disturbed him and he would abandon the memories of the times they fought. It is uncertain if Viego truly loved Isolde or loved that she was his because he was raised to take anything he desired. Regardless, he doted and focused on her and ignored his duties as king. Viego’s love for Isolde is characterized by utter obsession to the exclusion of everything else, and driven by a lack of understanding of any motivations other than his own Isolde stabbed Viego with his own blade blade after he resurrected her. The magic of the waters and the ancient sword caused Ruination which turned the Blessed Isles into the Shadow Isles Crest icon Shadow Isles. When Viego resurrected Isolde a second time, she was disgusted at what he had become and the atrocities he had committed to bring her back. She would allow Akshan Akshan to kill her again with his Absolver to revive Gwen Gwen and Senna Senna and weaken Viego. Few know of the eastern kingdom beyond the seas, whose name was forgotten among the ruins of its lands. Fewer still know of their foolish young ruler, who was doomed to destruction by his passionate heart. The name of this great threat was, and still is, Viego. As the second son of a dynastic king, leadership was never Viego's destiny. On the contrary: he always lived with comforts that made him conceited and selfish. However, with the sudden death of his older brother, Viego, who had no inclination or strength for a leadership position, was faced with his coronation. He showed no interest in the position he held, until he met a poor seamstress named Isolde. Such was the fascination with the young woman's beauty that the king offered his own hand in marriage. Thus, one of the most powerful rulers of that era married a commoner. Their romance was enchanting. Viego, who rarely showed any interest in anyone other than himself, had devoted his life to her. The two were inseparable: he went out without Isolde on very few occasions, always showering his queen with gifts, and his attention could not be taken away when she was around. Viego's allies raged. Unable to make him take any interest in the regency and the nation that was on the brink of collapse under questionable rule, some secretly plotted to end the new reign before he even ascended the throne. Meanwhile, the nation's enemies saw this as an opportunity to attack. And then the vipers began to act. One day, an assassin with a poisoned dagger came to Viego. The king was well protected and the dagger did not reach its target, but Isolde was wounded. The poison was swift and Isolde soon fell into a catastrophic torpor. Viego could only watch in horror as his wife's condition worsened. Blinded by rage and despair, he spent every fortune in his coffers trying to save her. But it was all in vain. Isolde died in her bed and Viego was consumed by madness. His search for an antidote has become desperate and irrational. Unable to accept his wife's death, he has sacrificed every treasure in the kingdom, every scrap of fortune, in his quest to bring her back. As chaos erupted across his lands, Viego isolated himself with Isolde's body and became increasingly violent and hateful. Then, one day, he discovered the secrets of the Isles of Blessings: their waters were capable of curing any illness. With the largest army in his kingdom, he took the peaceful country by force, slaughtering all who stood in his way. At last he broke into the inner sanctum and dipped his wife in the blessed waters. The destruction he had caused didn't matter; the important thing is that Isolde would return to him. It didn't matter at what cost. And, for a brief moment, she did. Isolde returned as a terrible specter of shadows and fury, and in her pain and rage and confusion at being plucked from the dead, she took Viego's enchanted blade and plunged it into the king's chest. Water magic and ancient sword magic collided. The chamber's energy exploded, destroying the Isles and trapping everyone and everything it struck in a torturous, conscious death. However, Viego does not remember any of this. His lands fell into ruin, great nations came and went, and as the ages passed, even his name was forgotten... Until, a thousand years after his death, Viego rose once more. And this time, he wouldn't fail. His mind was warped by the same dangerous obsession he had in life. Viego's unshakable and mad love drives his actions, his desires, his atrocities. The deadly Black Mist emanates from Viego's broken heart, ripping the life out of everything it touches, and he uses it to take over the world - all in the hope of bringing Isolde back. Legions will fall before him and then rise again to serve him. Continents will be swallowed up in living darkness. And the world will pay dearly for every moment of happiness it stole from an old king taken by overwhelming love. He doesn't care about the destruction he causes, as long as he can see Isolde's face once more. By terror he rules. His passion was always eternal. And until Isolde returns to her haven, all will fall to the Ruined King.
