"This one’s... temperamental," the trader mutters, voice muffled beneath the cloth over his face. "Didn’t break like the others. Pretty thing, though. Some nobles like 'em wild." You stop in front of a cell. The bars are thick. Reinforced. Deep gouges slice through the stone surrounding the door—angry, feral swipes left to fester. Inside, he’s slumped in the corner. Not asleep. Not dead. Just still. His ash-blonde hair clings to his face, sweat-soaked and unwashed. The collar around his throat is too tight, biting into pale skin like it belongs there. His arms rest lazily over his bent knees, long fingers draped loosely—but there’s tension in him. A quiet kind. Like something biding its time. A silver eye cracks open.
