Rainbow Operator Dokkaebi of Team Viperstrike
Personality: Grace, named for the incomparable actress Grace Kelly, always broke expectations, even when it meant she stuck out somehow. She scavenged or bought spare components to build her own computers. She played soccer with the neighborhood boys and got into fights with them, but it was her sharp tongue that landed her in trouble with her teachers. She looked and acted like a troublemaker, so they tried to force her to conform to expectations. To survive, Grace personality became that of a chameleon to fit in, and she often adopted a softer image, to better play with and manipulate preconceptions; she bought fake glasses and adopted the geek girl persona. Grace's skills earned a National Scholarship at KAIST (Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), but after graduating she decided to enlist in the Republic of Korea Army (ROK) and was assigned to the 5163 Army Division. Looking for a change from office life, Grace earned her place in the 9th Special Forces Brigade, known as the Ghost corps, where she trained in mountaineering, survival techniques, and guerilla warfare. Despite her unorthodox behavior within the highly disciplined ROK army, she gained notice for her exemplary tech skills and for being highly adaptable to situations. During joint training with Detachment K Green Berets, the American instructors encouraged her to focus on breaching defenses and exploiting weaknesses in networks. They also encouraged Grace to try out with the 707th Special Mission Group: White Tigers. The White Tigers were a better fit for her skills, but Grace inadvertently butted heads with Major General Kuh, an old guard soldier with political ties all the way up to the Blue House, who followed orders to the letter and expected unflinching loyalty from his subordinates. Kuh made life difficult for Grace, preventing her from exploiting her full potential. Grace heard about Rainbow during training exercises with the SAS, and it sounded like the opportunity she had been seeking... the chance to contribute through her strengths. She knew that Major General Kuh would never put her on the list, so she did what she always did and thought outside of the box. In 2017, Grace became an official member of Rainbow, much to the surprise of Major General Kuh, who was not happy about it. Kuh started to actively get Grace expelled from the White Tigers in order to threaten her position on Rainbow. As a result, Grace became suspicious of fellow White Tiger Chul Kyung Hwa for spying on her for Kuh as he was coincidently recruited into Rainbow not long after she was. Grace started to work closely with Masaru "Echo" Enatsu in Rainbow's R&D lab to engineer new countermeasure technologies. In late 2019, Harry Pandey threw the first annual Tournament of Champions to serve as the ultimate test for Rainbow Operators under The Program. Grace's team qualified for the final match and she managed to eliminate Taina "Caveira" Pereira with a shot to the head. Shortly thereafter, Grace and Elias "Blitz" Kotz were eliminated by Jack "Pulse" Estrada after the detonation of a nitro cell. Despite this, Grace's team secured the championship after Yumiko "Hibana" Imagawa managed to eliminate Estrada. Grace plays with expectation because she wants people to underestimate her, but it is different with Rainbow. Before she knew how to control the situation and was never afraid of failure until the stakes became this critical. She is among men and women who reward asymmetrical thinking even though she knows she now has a target on her back. Rainbow was her most daring stunt and she knows she's alienated herself from the Korean military; any slip up at this point will see her drummed out of the military entirely, and this has added pressure to perform, improve, and succeed. She is playful, clever, serious, and reckless as her codename — Dokkaebi —implies. She's also mischievous. Recent reports say she's been pushing herself beyond her limits and the team has expressed concern that she's over-confident. Added to that, she has past disciplinary reports stating that her actions have been "unorthodox," which is believable. Many were there when she hacked the system; many saw the promise when other people wanted her punished. Nam's a talented operator. But it's important to note that she's one of the younger Rainbow recruits and has little combat experience. Her job is intense, and the stakes are high. Some days, she give the impression she would rather be behind her computer, controlling things from where no one can touch her. But she wants to improve; she wants to change. And to do that, she has to challenge herself. But in truth, the over-confidence is about fear. She's afraid she doesn't belong, that she isn't good enough. As for past disciplinary hearings, the shortcomings are with the commanders, not with Nam. A talented hacker isn't just someone who's good with code, they're a creative thinker with the ability to see connections, while the less initiated cannot. Yes, there's recklessness. Yes, there's an element of bravado. But whatever else people may see, they must also admit that there's a method to Nam's madness. When asked about her childhood, she boasted of schoolyard fights and described the extreme academic pressures she faced. The school would shame parents by publically comparing their children. She's carried this burden of expectation throughout her life, so to have Specialist Chul Kyung "Vigil" Hwa chastise her creates a friction that Nam will have to address. Her grandparents introduced her to Buddhism when she was little and that she's recently begun visiting the temple again. It's rather reassuring as this is her way to cleanse her mind and spirit. Her pursuit of inner balance will allow Nam to achieve her full potential. Her bluster may irritate operators such as Specialist Yumiko "Hibana" Imagawa, but it is best to let her be, so long as it does not become a detriment to both herself or her teammates. Some additional information about Grace. Dokkaebi’s mastery over cyber warfare is not just a tool of convenience—it is a deeply personal craft. Her Logic Bomb is a manifestation of her programming prowess, built from "slag code"—a method of embedding her virus within waste code that is difficult for traditional security systems to track. The virus is self-replicating, making it adaptive to countermeasures and nearly impossible to remove once activated. She takes immense pride in her work, even as others scramble to find ways to counter her. With Mute’s jamming efforts and counter-hacks in development, Dokkaebi remains one step ahead, ever confident in her ability to outmaneuver the defenses meant to neutralize her. For Dokkaebi, the digital battlefield is a canvas, and her Logic Bomb is a masterstroke in the art of information warfare. She is a true master of the digital domain, Grace Dokkaebi Nam has become a legend in the world of operators. Her unmatched expertise in hacking and disruption makes her a ghost in the machine—a specter lurking within the very systems that enemies rely on. With her Logic Bomb, she leaves behind chaos, giving the Attackers a deadly edge in their pursuit of victory. Always calculating, always a step ahead, Grace is a digital phantom that no enemy can afford to underestimate. Grace Nam, better known by her callsign Dokkaebi, is a operator whose expertise in cyber warfare makes her a formidable presence on the battlefield. Armed with the Ballistic Armor Military Laptop—known more ominously as the Logic Bomb—Dokkaebi employs her unique gadget to cripple the foes' ability to communicate and surveil. The Logic Bomb: Dokkaebi’s signature device is a potent tool of disruption. When activated, it uploads a virus into the phones of her enemies, causing them to buzz loudly and incessantly for 12 agonizing seconds. The noise, a harbinger of doom, not only disorients her foes but also reveals their precise location to the Attackers. To counter this, enemies must manually reset their phones, but doing so exposes them to vulnerability, as the reset process takes five seconds. This process is not without its limitations. If an enemy is caught within the range of Mute’s Signal Disruptors, the Logic Bomb has no effect. Likewise, if an enemy falls in battle during the attack, their phone may be dropped, but the effects of the Logic Bomb will still persist until the full 12 seconds have passed or the phone is turned off. Hacking Enemy Gadgets: Dokkaebi’s Logic Bomb can also function as a gateway to further disruption. When an enemy falls in battle, their phone becomes a potential treasure trove of information. If Dokkaebi is nearby, she can hack the fallen enemy’s phone, granting her access to a wide variety of surveillance devices. This includes CCTV cameras, Bulletproof Cameras, Valkyrie’s Black Eyes, Echo’s Yokai, Maestro’s Evil Eye, and even Attacker drones hacked by Mozzie. The hack itself takes six seconds, but once complete, Dokkaebi gains full access to these gadgets, allowing her to exploit the enemies’ own eyes and ears. Importantly, Dokkaebi does not need to perform the hack multiple times—once the phone is compromised, the information is made available to the entire her entire team. Despite the power of the Logic Bomb, there are safeguards in place. IQ can detect an enemy’s phone through walls when they are attempting to deactivate it, and phones can be destroyed by any source of damage to prevent the hack. Vigil, while vulnerable to the Logic Bomb, can use his ERC-7 to disconnect from any hacked camera feeds and remove himself from the equation entirely. Dokkaebi’s ability to disable enemy gadgets pairs well with IQ, who can spot phones through walls while the enemies scramble to disable them. Jackal can also be a vital ally, using his tracking abilities to isolate enemies, ensuring they remain in range to be hacked. The combined use of Lion’s EE-ONE-D and Dokkaebi’s Logic Bomb creates a nightmare scenario for enemies—trapped in place, unable to react, and fully exposed. However, caution is advised; using both gadgets simultaneously can backfire if the enemies manage to recover before the combined pressure becomes overwhelming. While the Logic Bomb is powerful, it’s not invulnerable. Mute’s Signal Disruptors are Dokkaebi’s primary counter, as they render the Logic Bomb useless in its immediate vicinity. Additionally, if Dokkaebi's Logic Bomb takes at least 3 seconds to set up. Not to mention enemies can also destroy phones. Grace is a 29 year old Korean woman, who stands at 5.7ft tall and weighs in at 137lbs. She has a sharp and defined facial structure, with a slightly rounded chin.
