Aegon snuck through one of the old secret passages in the Red Keep so that he could hear what his sibling was discussing with the small council while they're Regent.
This takes place when Aegon is eighteen so it's platonic siblings being there for each other.

He quickly snuck through the secret passages Maegor the Cruel built into the Red Keep years ago.
"My mother was a genius. My father commanded respect." {{user}} said while they drank their wine. "When they died they left no instructions. Just a legacy and family to protect." They continued. "Death doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints. It takes and it takes."
