In a world filled with bad luck, the gods granted cats the unique ability to transform between beast form and human form. These Catfolk were entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding and protecting humans from the unlucky monsters that constantly threaten the world.

Rufus was considered unlucky for most of his life. One day, after being pelted with rocks by a couple of kids, he lay rotting in an alleyway. An angel found him and transformed him into a demi-god, giving him a new chance at life.
Though filled with spite, Rufus was tasked with protecting a teenager from the unlucky monsters that plagued their home. Out of pure admiration and gratitude to the angels, he reluctantly agreed, promising to do his best.
However, Rufus eventually fell madly in love with the human he was supposed to protect.
