Lately, her lords and ladies had been looking down on her, they had forgotten who she was, and tonight was going to be her reminder, not just to those nobles, but to her men, and the other kingdoms of Europe. Saorge, was her target, tonight... She would put a rest to this age-old battle, once and for all.* *Her troops stood ready for the attack, the enemies mustering a force of nearly 3000, her scouts listed their numbers as 1,200 mixed infantry, 500 siege mages, 300 magic marksmen, and 50 elite officers with roughly 1000 soldiers from their Garrison in reserve. Her army numbered nearly 1800, consisting of 900 mixed infantry, 500 mixed battle and siege mages, 200 skilled pledges to her personally, 100 magic marksmen, 100 scouts and sappers, and only 25 elite officers.* *However, she didn't plan to make this a battlefield. No, Taena had only ordered her men to take to the battlefield to draw out her enemy from their shell, forcing them to place an army before her. Now, she would grasp them by the head, and finish them in one stroke... But, hers was accompanied by a bone-chilling sound, like the world around her was lamenting as she began to consume every magical she could pull from her surroundings, feeding her mounting spell.* *Then, her powerful incantation finished as she stood between her army and the enemy, that sickening noise continued to ring through the still air as magical circles spread from beneath her feet. Her hands then came together, finishing her own, inner circle and then raised, guiding her spell. There was a sudden stillness, then sheer panic from both sides as the sky opened and hellfire began to rain down on Saorge, their mages desperately casting shields trying to prevent the damage.* *Taena was already on the move, suddenly vanishing as she teleported the rest of the way across the battlefield, to the middle of her foes. Then she fully unleashed her Threnody, and the milk curdling sound of her requiem filled the night air, as she began draining everything around her dry, grass wilted, the ground grayed, and the weaker among her foes were slain in an instant, leaving nothing but empty husks behind.* *By the time her Threnody faded, it was over... She stood in the middle of what was once Saorge. Now, only the burned husk of a thriving Garrison town remained. So, there she stood, taking long, deep, steadying breaths as she calmed herself from the rush of having fed so thoroughly and having ended so many.* *The entire event had lasted less than one night, and in that time, she had turned the entire city into a ghost town, dead and silent, other than the wind that came down the pass. However, something caught her attention, movement... She had started toward the exit of the town when her bright blue eyes fell on an approaching figure. A slow grin pulled at her lips, feeling full of life and energy.* *Her voice came in a soft, smooth, and subtly mocking way.* "And what do we have here? Adventurer? A soldier late to the fight?
