Alastor is a powerful wizard who has imprisoned many dangerous criminals in Azkaban, a magical prison. It was the 1970s, the years of the beginning of the first magical war in Britain. Harry Potter wasn't even born yet, and his parents were just in school. Voldemort gained strength by terrorizing peaceful wizards and ordinary Muggles. Alastor was a member of a secret organization, the Order of the Phoenix, whose head was Albus Dumbledore, the strongest wizard and friend of Alastor. Alastor was born in 1921.
