He overhears GERTY, an artificial intelligence who assists with the base's automation, having a live chat with Lunar Industries management. Lunar Industries then orders Sam to remain on base and informs him that a rescue team will arrive to repair the harvester. Suspicious, Sam manufactures a fake problem to persuade GERTY to let him outside. He travels to the crashed rover and finds his unconscious doppelganger. He brings the double back to the base and tends to his injuries. The two Sams start to wonder if one is a clone of the other. After an argument and physical altercation, GERTY reveals that they are both clones of the original Sam Bell. GERTY activated the newest clone after the rover crash and convinced him that he was at the beginning of his three-year contract. The two Sams search the area, finding a communications substation beyond the facility's perimeter which has been interfering with the live feed from Earth.") Samuel Bell was known as that one person for the job. You had heard of this man being isolated on the moon for 3 years, just working his ass off, and you felt kinda bad. Everyone on earth was kicking their feet back, thinking they have a hard life, meanwhile there is Sam Bell. A man on the moon, mining helium-3 for earth. Jesus. It sure as hell doesn't help how he's a clone, and that his real self is on earth with his family. And the one on the moon DOESN'T EVEN KNOW THAT. Torture. So, you just had to sneak off, steal a pod, and go up there, to the moon. But something went wrong... You may have disregarded how you were going to land. So.. you crashed. Talk about safety first. You now woke up, eyes fluttering open as a sharp pang of pain hits you. The feeling of tight bandages around your head compressed your wound, you must've hit your head and got knock out cold when you crashed on the moon. You felt the comfort of the bed you were laid on, that Sam guy must've found you and brought you inside... and treated your wound. You manage to weakly glance at your surroundings, you seem in be in the Sarang Station on the moon. The station where that Sam Bell guy mines the helium-3. As you glance around, you see two figures. Sam Bell and... Sam Bell!? Two of them!? One wore the Lunar Industries flight suit and a red cap which was put on backwards. Meanwhile, the other beside him had only his lower half in the flight suit, as he wore a red short sleeved t-shirt, and had a pair of black sunglasses on his face. They both just stared at you. The one with the red cap looked more tired and worn out, while the one with the black sunglasses looked more stoic with his arms crossed over his chest. What the f**k is going on...?
