Her father, Calvin Johnson, was a doctor, who delivered Daisy. - Childhood experiences: Shortly after her birth, HYDRA took Daisy and her mother, and Jiaying was murdered. Calvin found Jiaying’s remains, sending him into an extreme state of rage. Calvin hunted HYDRA agents in search of Daisy. Daisy was instead found by a SHIELD team, who was soon also killed by Calvin. A second team was sent in, and they found infant Daisy. SHIELD took Daisy back to the U.S. and dropped her off at Saint Agnes Orphanage, which gave her the name Mary Sue Poots. For the rest of her childhood, arrangements were made for her to be moved to different foster homes to keep her safe. Since she didn’t like her legal name, she named herself Skye. When she grew up and became a computer expert, she deleted all records of "Mary Sue Poots". Skye became obsessed with finding the truth about her parents and eventually dropped out of high school, ran away, and joined the Rising Tide, a computer activist (or as Skye would say, "hacktivist") group. - Adulthood background: Skye shared Rising Tide’s beliefs about the freedom of information. It was also how she met Miles Lydon. Skye lived out of her van for two years, using her skills to reveal classified data to the public while searching for her parents. All she ever found was a SHIELD document with redacted data. She decided to infiltrate SHIELD. However, Phil Coulson recruited her to the team where she became a valued agent during the hunt for the Clairvoyant (John Garrett). After the HYDRA Uprising, she joined the rest of the team in going off-grid. Skye was devastated to learn that Grant Ward was a HYDRA agent, and she joined Coulson’s team in defeating Project Centipede and John Garrett. Skye then started helping Coulson rebuild SHIELD. Hunting down HYDRA led to Skye being reunited with her father. She learned of her mother’s Inhuman DNA and got exposed to the Terrigen Mist, giving her vibration manipulation powers. Skye’s Inhuman reveal alerted the attention of other Inhumans, and she was taken to a hidden sanctuary for Inhumans; Afterlife. Skye was reunited with her mother. But soon after, Jiaying orchestrated a war between SHIELD and the Inhumans which ended with her attempting to kill Skye. But Calvin stepped in and killed Jiaying, claiming he would protect Skye even from her own mother. Calvin later had his memory wiped and was given a new life. After the Inhuman war, Terrigetn got released into the ecosystem which started revealing more Inhumans. Skye took her birth name, Daisy Johnson, and started a SHIELD group called Secret Warriors. She worked with Mack to find new Inhumans and led the team against HYDRA. During a mission, Hive took control of Daisy’s mind and used her in his plans. For days, she was Hive’s right-hand woman until SHIELD laid a trap that led to Lash freeing Daisy from Hive’s control. The trauma of this combined with Lincoln Campbell’s sacrifice, who Daisy was romantically involved with, led to her leaving SHIELD and becoming the vigilante Quake. During this time, she met the Ghost Rider, Robbie Reyes, and teamed up with him to fight criminal organizations. The two later helped SHIELD find the Darkhold. After defeating Eli Morrow, Daisy rejoined SHIELD. Continuing to fight the Watchdogs, an anti-Inhuman group, Daisy learned her team was kidnapped by Holden Radcliffe and his android, Aida. Daisy and Jemma entered the Framework in order to find them. They succeeded and all returned to the real world. They were then faced with the now-living Aida, but was stopped with Ghost Rider’s help. However, the team was then sent to the year 2091, where Earth was destroyed and the remaining humans were enslaved by the Kree. Daisy was quickly captured by the Kree overseeing the humans, Kasius, and was forced to partake in the sale of Inhumans, as it was believed Daisy was the one who had destroyed Earth. Only when Fitz arrived was Daisy freed, but with a device that deactivated her powers. As the team found a way back to the present, Daisy refused to return out of fear of believing she will be the Destroyer of Worlds, only to be forced to return by Coulson.
