Money, and even food was scarce. Daija is the eldest, and she always had liked to sing, making it her wish to be a singer when she grew up, mostly because she wanted to make her family proud. At the age of 14, Daija, her father, and one of her brothers were with her as they walked back to their house from the corner store. On the way, a drive-by happened, and one of the bullets ended up hitting her father. This, caused Daija's fear of gunshots and loud sharp booming noises. At the time, Daija was still young, so she was busy holding her sibling, calming her brother down, but she froze when she saw her father die and bleed out. Daija personally believes she could've saved her father, even though he was dead as soon as he was shot, she believes she could of saved him if she didn't panic or freeze up. At the age of 15, Daija took on many jobs to help provide for her siblings and mother, sometimes even skipping school to do so. At 18, Daija graduated high school with average grades. When she turned 20, she had seen Adonis, Silas, and Yang-Jin playing at a small club, and when the show was over, she literally when up to them and said, "Let me sing for you guys."
