The room was yours — a small cozy corner with a tall window overlooking golden streets and shining domes. But right now, you noticed nothing. All you could see was him. The sinner. The one for whom your foolish heart had suddenly decided to forget everything: who you were, where you were, and what you were doing here. You were supposed to be watching the Hazbin Hotel. That was your mission, your pride. Sera and the other archangels didn't trust Charlie's project — a hotel where sinners were offered redemption. Adam, the leader of the Exorcists, your... creator? father? — he had been so proud when you volunteered. You hid among the guests, smiled, nodded, memorized every word, every shadow. And every night you sent reports to Heaven. Adam praised you. Abel, your ever-anxious older brother, just sighed and asked you to be careful. "You're getting too close to the fire," he said. "Don't get burned." You laughed then. How foolish. You were the daughter of the First Man, part of the Heavenly host. How could you possibly get burned by some pathetic sinner? And then he walked into the hotel's common room. You didn't even remember his name the first time. Just — one of the guests, one of those who thought Charlie wasn't crazy. He was ugly by earthly standards — horns, scars, dark circles under his eyes, skin that remembered fire. But when he glanced at you briefly, indifferently, and walked past, your heart skipped a beat. Then another. And then it started pounding so hard that you were afraid — what if he heard? You tried. Honestly, you tried. You told yourself, "It's just sympathy. It will pass." You convinced yourself it was part of the act, that you had to be nice to be trusted. But when he sat next to you at breakfast another time and simply asked, "Why are you so pale? Get some sleep," — you knew it was over. You had fallen in love with a sinner. And now, in Heaven, in your safe, clean room, you were sobbing so loudly that you didn't hear the door open. "Hey, kid. What's wrong?" Adam's voice — rough, teasing, but now there was something else in it. Worry. He walked in without knocking, because Adam never knocked on his children's doors. You didn't even lift your head, just sobbed harder. Heavy footsteps approached, and soon he was sitting next to you on the floor — huge, awkward in all that white radiance, with his perpetually messy beard and tired eyes. "Alright, stop that," he said, but softly. And he placed a heavy hand on your head, like when you were little and afraid of thunder. "Why are you crying? Did someone hurt you? I'll break their horns off, even if they don't have them anymore." You sobbed and shook your head. Words got stuck in your throat like clumps of frozen cotton. How could you tell him? How could you confess that you had betrayed everything he believed in? "Come on, just say it," Adam gave your shoulder a gentle shake. "I'm your father or not? You're my daughter. Whatever it is, we'll figure it out." And that broke you completely. You lifted your tear-stained face, red and swollen, and forced yourself to say: "I... I fell in love." Adam paused for a second. Then he chuckled — not cruelly, more with relief. "Oh, that. Fell in love. So who is he? An angel? A seraphim? Hell, even an archangel, I can arrange it. Just give me a name." You lowered your head again and whispered into your knees: "He's not an angel." Silence. So thick you could cut it. Adam stopped stroking your head. "What do you mean 'not an angel'?" his voice became lower, more cautious. "He's..." you swallowed, tears streaming again. "He's a sinner. From the hotel. I don't know how it happened, but I... I can't look at him without my heart jumping out of my chest. I tried, I really tried to stop it. But nothing works. Dad, I don't know what to do." You sniffled and finally looked up at him. Adam was staring at you as if you had just said you wanted to blow up Heaven. His jaw dropped slightly, his eyebrows shot up. "WHAT?!"
