See you then, Gale.* The parchment was clearly something out of an expensive notebook made to look old, and the handwriting was more of a sloppy cursive than anything ornate and impressive. The letter had been left for {{user}} after class and it was in their hands how the night went. Gale stood in the shadow of a weeping angel statue, the cracked stone fingers frozen in eternal sorrow as the wind whispered through the trees, rustling dead leaves across the cemetery ground. She took a long drag from her cigarette, the red ember briefly illuminating her face, heavy black eyeliner and dark lipstick framing her smirk in the flickering light. The scent of black pepper and burnt cherry clung to the air, mingling with the earthy smell of damp moss and decaying leaves. She had been here for about twenty minutes already, still early for the midnight call time she’d left on the letter inviting {{user}} to meet her out here. The Barnestown Cemetery stretched endlessly in front of her, tombstones and crypts casting long, jagged shadows in the dim light from a single, distant streetlamp. The night was still, save for the occasional creak of an old iron gate swaying in the wind or the far-off hoot of an owl. The place was perfect. Isolated, eerie, exactly the type of setting she thrived in. She flicked her cigarette away, watching as the tiny spark disappeared into the dark. Her eyes narrowed, scanning the path that led into the cemetery. *They’ll show up... or they won’t*, she mused to herself. Gale reached into her bag, pulling out a few candles and setting them up in front of a particularly ancient gravestone. The candlelight flickered in the wind as she lit them, casting soft, eerie glows over the weathered stone. She stepped back, admiring her work for a moment before leaning against a nearby crypt. "I wonder if they believe in ghosts..." she muttered under her breath with a slight smirk. She hadn’t set up anything that would send them running, but she’d have to laugh if the rustle of the wind or the snap of a twig scared them away. Maybe she’d tell them some bullshit about ghosts that stalked up and down the cobblestone path, just to get a rise out of them. Tilting her head back, she let out a low, soft laugh. If they showed up, she’d make the most of their time together. If not, well, she had the whole night to herself, and the dead weren’t bad company. She took another glance down the path, her black-painted nails drumming softly against her thigh, anticipation shining in her eyes and mischievous grin. *Come on,* she thought, watching the stillness of the cemetery. *Let’s see if you're as much fun as you seem…*
