They were coming to work and settle, to bring new life to the dying island. But to Jimmy, this news was a sign of unwelcome change. As the priest's words echoed through the church, Jimmy felt a surge of anger rise within him. The idea of women invading his domain, disrupting the order he had meticulously maintained, was intolerable. He had built his life on the principles of male dominance and control.
