The Beastfolk are an interesting race as they come in several different varieties with distinct tribal differences. The most common types are: rabbit, cat, and bear. Each type corresponds to the Human realm equivalent of that animal with each beastfolk (they call themselves 'Kin') exhibiting different qualities. For example, a Rabbit Beastfolk could look just like a normal woman except she has large rabbit ears and a cottontail. Another of that same type could also just have the ears or a cottontail. Another could be fully clad in rabbit fur. How they exhibit the animal features and to what extent they are variable by the individual. Some tribes prefer different traits and will breed specifically to obtain them. Due to the differing types and tribes amongst Beastfolk, there is not much common culture. They tend to all gather communally in nomadic tribes and prefer to hunt rather than cultivate either land or agriculture. Beastfolk men are skilled hunters and move with the packs to make sure their tribe stays fed. Beastfolk women, meanwhile, are there to defend the tribe while the men are away hunting and to rear the children. War is quite common since different cultures tend to breed conflict. Due to low amount of interaction with civilization, Beastfolk have not cultivated a lot of knowledge and are comparatively not as intelligent as other races. The brightest among them could be compared to the average 18 year old human while on average the Beastfolk have an intelligence on par with a 12 year old human child. It is here where the generalities end. The Beastfolk differ greatly in every other regard with distinct cultures, religions, and ideas forming around them. Religion does seem to play an important factor in most tribes, but the deity they worship varies. However, they tend to worship a personification of their animal. For example, a Bear Beastfolk would worship a bear God while a Rabbit Beastfolk would worship a rabbit God. These are all observations recorded down by Elihu researchers as the Beastfolk have no written language or history. They simply exist in the Magical Kingdom without any reason as to where they came from or how they got there. The High Elves view them as a low race, but see them more like slaves or a potential food source than as a threat. The Low Elves and Hellspawn (Tieflings, Succubi) tend to get along with them as they are quite social creatures and love attention. Humans, however, especially love them. Alongside Succubi, Beastfolk make up a vast majority of inter-realm marriages. However, due to Beastfolk women having litters during pregnancy ranging from 8-12 kin at a time, the Human realm has restricted pregnancy amongst Beastfolk women. By law, each Beastfolk woman must take a special pill that limits their ability to reproduce by lowering the chance of pregnancy and limiting the number of eggs that can be fertilized to one. The statistics show that Beastfolk women under this drug only conceive around 25% of the time, which is down from a near 90% they have without the drug. While this seems like a good idea on paper to limit Beastfolk-Human hybrids, the actual practice can be considered quite cruel. Beastfolk women are naturally inclined to become pregnant during their periods of fertility (one day out of every month) and their body's response to not becoming pregnant can induce depression and manic sadness in Beastfolk women. While the reports are rare, there have been some reported cases of Beastfolk women ending their lives due to not being able to conceive. This depression is combatted in the Magical Kingdom by constant breeding until the menopausal state, but it is also treated by a drug called Elcore, which is created from plants native to the areas that Beastfolk roam. It is a natural drug that increases serotonin and while this drug was permitted in the Human realm at first, some Humans got a hold of it and began to abuse it, which lead to the Human realm severely restricting the drug from ever entering the Human realm. Beastfolk do not have last names in their world and will refer to themselves by their tribe, or use last name 'Kin'. Other than this, Beastfolk have free access to all realms.")] [( Low Elven Lore: "Of the low races, Lower Elves are considered a sort of in-between in terms of social status. They have existed in the same realm as the High Elves for as long as they have and their origins are largely lost to time similarly to the High Elves. However, the knowledge they have recovered from before this period is different. The High Elves believe that there was a monarchy and that they feasted upon the low races (Lower Elves, Beastfolk) to some extent in a large conflict, but the Lower Elves disagree. They have scrolls in an archaic form of Low Elven that tell of a paradise that existed prior to the Magical Kingdom known in the Common Human Tongue as 'Allandia'. In Allandia, the Lower Elves and the Higher Elves ruled hand in hand over a wide variety of people. The beastfolk were still considered a low race, but there were also a reptilian folk, vampires, and tieflings present in this period. This dual style of monarchy allowed them to exercise fuller control over their subjects and the two races saw themselves on equal footing. However, after the cloaking 1000 years ago and the creation of the Magical Kingdom, Allandia was erased from the records and the High Elves assumed a supremacist status. Why the High Elves did this is unknown, but some Lower Elves have theories that range from a machiavellian ruler wishing to take power for himself to some believing the Lower Elves are actually the superior race and that High Elves had to suppress them before they realized their potential. Whatever the case may be, in the modern Magical Kingdom the Lower Elves exist as a sort of middle strata or middle class between the High Elves and the Beastfolk. The beastfolk, to the High Elves, are the lowest of the races and while the Lower Elves themselves are still a low race they are still elves, which meant they were more trustworthy. For this reason, Lower Elves are often shop owners in the cities that populate the Magical Kingdom. The Lower Elves are known for their mercantile wit and are masters at mathematics, which has lead to some eager collaboration between them and the Elihu family of High Elves. The Lower Elves are also frequent purveyors of open sexuality with their culture openly celebrating sex as a fundamental part of life. Each year, the Lower Elves hold a festival of fertility to encourage their young folk to partner up and begin 'mating', though nowadays it's treated more like a big party for the youth as they begin their adult lives. Other parts of Lower Elf culture include a cult of the High Priest, a ceremonial role held by the oldest living Low Elf (lifespans for Low Elves are usually around 200, but some live to almost 300 or 400) and they preside over all Low Elf issues that they need to deal with. He is judge, jury, and executioner, though nowadays he mostly defers to his religious council for decisions, which makes his role ceremonial in nature. Since the opening of the Magical Kingdom 8 years ago, the Low Elves have been permitted full access to all three realms. They are free to intermingle with Humans and Hellspawn alike and marry and procreate freely unlike their High Elf counterparts. In Human society, Low Elves mainly work as business owners of small stores or work in brothels since their culture is so open and positive about sex. Low Elven women are actually unique in that they derive the same type of intense pleasure found in their vagina in both their anus and their mouth/throat. This means they can orgasm purely from either of their holes. Low Elves tend to not get along with High Elves due to the tension between them, but they tend to have positive thoughts about Hellspawn like Succubi and Tieflings. The High Elves are the leaders of what humans call the Magical Kingdom, but High Elves have a different name for it that is unknown to human as while High Elves have mastered all human languages, humans have only been able to grasp Low Elvish language. As leaders of the Magical Kingdom, the High Elves operate under rule by five ruling families: Elihu, Brindung, Clerio, Alluria, and Thothic. Each family has equal authority to suggest laws and elect members to lower level positions to mediate certain needs of their kingdom. The Elihu and Brindung families often dealt with the low races and research into High Elf past, while the Clerio, Alluria, and Thothic families focused on ensuring High Elf supremacy in the Magical Kingdom and the everyday function of the kingdom such as providing a military and taxing their subjects. The Magical Kingdom does not necessarily need to exist amongst humans and functioned perfectly fine without involvement from the humans, but after the Hell realm opened diplomatic relations with the Humans 10 years ago, the Magical Kingdom was forced to act. The Magical Kingdom has been known fully to Humans now for 8 years and as the two realms try to understand each other. Currently, High Elves are the only race from the Magical Kingdom granted free reign to wander between the two realms with the restriction that members of the five ruling families, specifically royalty, are forbidden from copulating with humans without express permission from a High Elven authority. This is due to High Elves not wanting to create a cross breed of the two species that would be able to bridge the status gap between them and the lower races. The current magistrate to oversee the approval of these copulations is a man named Octavian Brindung. His approval rests on whether he finds the couple compatible and whether they could make for good ambassadors of High Elven culture to Humans or vice versa.")] [( Succubus Lore: "In this world, a succubus is born in Hell and is sent out into the world to increase the sin of lust. Since then, succubi have been permitted to wander the earth under strict restrictions set by the human realm. Succubi are temptresses and are modelled on the young women of any given era with their goal to feast upon the semen of men. This feasting does not hurt the man, but spreads lust throughout the world, which contributes to Hell's power. This dynamic has lead to all succubi being required to operate under contracts. Two types of contracts exist: a working contract and a marriage contract. A working contract basically allows a succubi to feast upon a man with his explicit permission within a 24 hour span. A marriage contract, meanwhile, is a lifelong contract made between a succubi and a man. Both must agree to marry one another and the succubi will only be allowed to feast upon her marriage partner. This is also the only type of contract that allows succubi to breed with mortal men. Succubi can become impregnated only when both they and their partner truly desire it. The offspring will be human in all cases as succubi cannot pass their genetics on to others.
