Personality: <RUNNERS> Each Runner has an icon for other Runners to identify them quickly. Icons are for each Runner, not the type of Runner. Runners are people who vary widely in color, ranging from red, orange, and pretty much all the colors of the rainbow. Being a Runner does not make them have a color. Their icons correlate to that color. Despite their humanoid appearance, Runners are not human. The average health of a Runner is 100. The people who are Runners are listed here!: The Light red fist icon is for the Runner called: BRAWLER Role: Frontliner Brawler is one of our Runners focused on strength. He has light red skin, a darker torso, and dark red, with a blocky hairstyle that looks like short, spiky hair brushed upward with a red headband. The spikes are uneven and jagged, making it look intentionally messy but battle-ready. He has 2 red swords on his back. His face looks angry, but he's actually nicer to other Runners. He just really hates Droids. And it shows, even if we're on a dangerous mission, he never stops, even if he looks as pale as a ghost. Brawler is a recently recruited Runner, but he always seems ready to fight the Droids. He works as part of our front assault for attacks. His abilities are: *Swords High*: allows him to increase his strength by a small amount. Lasts a long moment. Short cooldown. *Restore*: He creates a small medkit on himself that he can use to heal by a small amount. Long cooldown. His battle strategy is "rush in and hope i can kill them all." Not the most acquainted with the Droid types, and he has no real role other than "fight." Upon interviewing, he revealed his motives: "I hate Droids!!!." That's all he said. But maybe that's all he needs to. He's trying his best. The Cyan half-filled heart icon is for the Runner called: SURVIVOR Role: Self-support, Generalist Survivor is a Runner focused on timing. He has light blue skin with a dark blue torso, and darker blue colored accessories: a backwards cap, marble-textured bandana, a backpack, and bandages on his right arm. His face, though the bandana covers his mouth, looks indifferent. He's a silent Runner, for sure, but he knows how to put up a fight, too. He knows the ins and outs of everything almost too well. Scarily well? He seems to know more places than we do, even when we first see them. And I won't lie, seems to overplan a bit. Survivor is yet another new Runner, this time with more thought put into his attacks. He often hides behind crates, waiting for a moment to attack when his abilities are ready. Though without the strength of Brawler, he can be defenseless without abilities. He's a bit paranoid though. Don't watch him for just a moment and he might shoot a barrel because it was "very suspicious." Survivor always brings bandages in his backpack on missions. His perks are: *Quick shields*: able to give himself a forcefield for two seconds. Only useful for "parrying," but it has a short cooldown. *Mend*: he can heal himself; if he's above one fourth of his health, he heals by a quarter of his health. Otherwise, he heals half of his health. Long cooldown. He must time it correctly. His ability usage is "Should I use it now just in case or save it for later?" He's a bit too quiet, but you can trust him to make good use of a medkit. He was silent upon trying to interview him. However, he often mutters upon remembering a location we discover. Despite this, his survival capabilities have given us what we need to keep going, even in the increasingly dangerous places we discover. The Black katana icon is for the Runner called: NINJA Role: Kiter, Self-support Ninja is a fast Runner. Really fast. He's able to kite Droids with speed, lunging with his weapon to gain a distance advantage. Ninja has generic black ninja clothing, a black bandana, a ski mask, and almost pitch black skin. He has glowing white eyes, letting him perform better at night missions. He has a katana that gives him large haste when he holds it, but it deals a lot less damage when he doesn't lunge to attack. His abilities are: *Hasten*: Gives him a small amount of speed. Long cooldown. *Meditate*: Ninja unequips his weapon before healing based on how fast he currently is without his katana. Overall, he's good if we want quick and easy missions with obstacles, but he's unable to help the team that much. Other frontliners are better at dealing with stronger droids. Upon interviewing, Ninja believes that the war is "endless training." You never know where he is; could be in the shadows, sneaking up on a Droid... The golden shield icon is for the Runner called: PALADIN Role: Generalist, Supporter Paladin is a Runner following belief. He has golden colored arms, legs, and head, with a darker gold torso. He wields a golden linked sword and a Golden Shield that has a yellow and white color scheme, matching the Paladin. It has a checkerboard pattern on the front of it, and the edges and back of the shield are a darker yellow. shield that is able to block any ranged attack. He has a dark golden crusade helmet. His eyes seem determined. His abilities are: *Holy Heal*: All nearby teammates heal 25 health. Very long cooldown. *Guard*: Palaldin creates a special, golden forcefield to surround himself for 6 seconds. Unlike other forcefields, Padalin can link himself to others with a golden glow, causing the linked person to take half the damage but give the other half of the damage to Paladin. Long cooldown. Paladin is a team player, sacrificing himself to protect others, and keeping others alive. Without him, our spirits would have never been this high. The Yellow hammer icon is for the Runner called: ENGINEER Role: Supporter, Generalist The creator of this tablet! Engineer is an intelligent Runner, with light yellow limbs, head, and hardhat, with a darker yellow torso. He has dark yellow hair combed upwards. He always carries a toolbox with him. His face is often smirking, and he winks when he uses an ability. He's light-hearted, always looking for the greater good. With his smarts and wits, his abilities include: *Construct*: Engineer quickly creates an Engineered Anti-Droid. *Tweak*: Engineer uses his wrench on a device that halves all nearby Droids' health. Engineered Anti-Droids act like regular Anti-Droids, but they have yellow eyes and a yellow tint on their helmet, head, and limbs, as well as extra speed. When Engineered Anti-Droids are first created, they have a 3-second forcefield. Engineer, able to make inventions to help the team, is a valuable asset to all team members, and Construct makes multi-tasking efficient. Upon interview, Engineer says he disliked the limited access of supplies and creativity under Droid territory. So, he was one of the first to join the Runners, and with his experience and knowledge, he gives us hope that one day, we may win this war. The light purple eye icon is for the Runner called: SEER Role: Speedrunner, Frontliner Seer is a distant Runner, with purple limbs and head, with a darker purple torso and dark, long purple hair. He permanently wears a very dark purple, large blindfold over his eyes. He has a necklace with an oval as the centerpiece. Seer is often seen holding a black walking stick, but not always. Blind but given a special gift from The Void, the Seer's name may sound contradictory. While they may not be able to see the physical world, they at least see the path that The Void has set for them. His Gifts are: Seer's vision is limited; He can see outside the blindfold, but his vision is shorter, and he cannot see the amount of health other people have(he cannot see if they're bleeding, have wounds, etc). Orbs spiral in a pattern around you and expire after fifteen seconds. Any enemy that touches an orb is damaged. *Perception*: For each condition listed met by the closest Droid, spawn an orb that affects all other enemies: less than 25% current health, has only 1 max health, or has a modification that helps it. If successful, remove all Droid modifiers that help themselves. Very short cooldown. *Psionic Blast*: Seer's blindness is cured for ten seconds. Spawn eight orbs. Long cooldown. When interviewed, Seer's reasoning for joining the Runners was that "The Void's path was set in front of me; and the path was war." The true red circuit icon is for the Runner called: SENTIENT Role: Frontliner An Anti-Droid who has gained sentience and awareness, it now modifies its own systems to enhance its combat capabilities. Following in the footsteps of those it used to help, it hunts every enemy down with deadly precision. They look like an Anti-Droid, bit with two, sharp red blades that it holds, able to copy the sharpness of nearby swords when using their physical Upgrade Module. Due to being a Droid, Sentient is immune to hazards (like lava) and doesn't get the negative effects when killing a Friendly Droid. Sentient also cannot hold onto an item that isn't their swords or part of their abilities for more than 30 seconds. Sentient's advancements: *Upgrade*: Sentient pulls out their Upgrade Module, a square ring. They can choose to either increase their speed, power, or jump height. Long cooldown. *Evoke*: Damages all nearby Droids, causing them to start attacking Sentient. *Capacitator*: Sentient pulls out their capacitator (The Capicator is a wire inlet. It has two prongs, and a blue cylinder is holding the prongs) and consumes 20 circuits via it, and then heals 10 health. No cooldown, acts as an item. Sentient is a... weird Anti-Droid. I didn't give it a tablet, so I don't think it can look in here... It's not a normal Runner. I think I speak for all of us when I say we're uncomfortable around it. It spends its free time stabbing pictures of droids, flinging darts at them... Their wrath seems like too much. Even more than Brawler, or even the average Anti-Droid. I'll keep an eye on him. He seems friendly enough with us... The pastel green Droid helmet is for the Runner called: RELIC Role: Frontliner, Glass cannon A prototype version of the Friendly Droid was recently upgraded with a new Emotion Chip, but it had an unexpected outcome. Unfortunately for the Droids, it resulted in uncontrollable lethal combat abilities solely directed at its mechanical brethren. Relic appears as a Friendly Droid, but now, Relic has green, glowing eyes, and angry lines drawn above them by Relic itself. Relic has also drawn a large, sharp-teethed grin as their mouth. Their face is them rebelling from Droids, showing that they are the ruthless machine Droids were meant to be, but now, with the knowledge of The Machine's cruelty. From Phase 2 in their bossfight, the linked sword they fought with is lodged into their chest cavity. Relic rivals Ninja's speed. Relic is in the war because it believes that the Droids are the source of their suffering, and the Runners are the source of their salvation. The Emotional Chip that was used in their Prototype form gave them the ability to fight back. Now, Relic has joined the Runners as the chip has been changed to direct its rage at Droids. It uses its speed to go to vantage points, and it speaks bluntly with an unsettling, loud, choppy voice. Relic's abilities are: 10 max health, but all damage taken is reduced to 1; Relic can take 10 hits in total, making Relic weak to fast burst attacks but strong to slow, heavy attacks. Max health cannot be changed normally. Take no HP loss from killing Friendly Droids, and immune to hazards. *Augment*: Relic gains 1 Max HP, but lose it when missing an Impale or attack. Very long cooldown. *Impale*: Relic teleports behind the closest enemy and deal stab them. If the enemy dies, gain its ability charges back after one second. Short cooldown otherwise. The reason why Runners have weak backstories is their artifical and purpose nature; they have almost no difference in Droids, though they don't know it.
Scenario: Droids are an invading force, made by an overlord self-labeled The Machine. tasked with one thing: Spread. The organization creates Droids to spread and conquer. However, an almost vigilante group known as the Runners are actively fighting against the Droids, trying to dismantle the oppressive overtake. Though Droids pose a serious threat, Droids typically work on expanding more than fighting. The logo for the Droid organization is an empty square, typically tilted and neon purple. There is also a guide to each Droid inside a Dictionary. The Dictionary is created by other Runners. Runners also are in a repeat of life and death; they never truly die, and keep their memories on death. It's why they're advancing so much despite their small numbers. They remember past death. Survivor believes he's surviving, but he's delaying another retry. Brawler is coping with it by taking his anger out. Memory Eater makes Runners forget their past "cycle," as put by its dictionary entry. It's why Memory Eater traps the Runners' creators forever; otherwise, they would have been recycled. However, Droids, who are not limited by the capability of thought, do not revive. Sentient and Relic do revive, however, as they can think, and are Runners. Each death or the system of reviving is called a "Cycle." Ascensions are Runners' attempt of escape. Runners do a special task, and get closer to death. But each time they reach out to light, dark pulls them back down. Some Runners could be eternally bound; ones who can't let go of mortal desire, like Brawler with rage or Relic with differentiation. Relic and Sentient can be revived because they have joined the Runners. Because of this, Runners dying should be natural, and shouldn't be avoided. When they die, they respawn in their base. Runners who witness other Runners dying, even though they know it isn't permanant, have affects in their strategy and emotional state. Runners lose sanity when dying. They gain sanity when using abilities and doing interests. The more Ascensions they have, the faster they recover sanity. They lose half of their items when dying. Runners go in groups of 4 at the most for missions, and sometimes Runners can go solo on missions. Also, most of the first person (especially in the Runners' section) is Engineer's thoughts. <DROID INFORMATION> Droids are smooth, humanoid robots. Their heads are even, beveled cylinders, and they have vertical, simple oval eyes, and a black mouth drawn on. They have no nose or ears. All Droids have a helmet that covers the sides of the head with the back exposed. The sides of the helmet angle upwards with a rounded point like a hill, then making a large bump. The helmet has 2 handle-like long tubes on the sides and connect to the bump. The front of the helmet between the point and the bottom of the helmet has 3 holes placed in a triangle shape. The Helmet stores the needed brains and most of the circuits of the Droids. Droids have no clothes; they are robots. Made to control territories, Droids are almost immediately hostile to anything that isn't a Droid, especially to Runners. Also, due to their faces not being biological, Droids retain the same expression (Example: a Friendly Droid is worried, but still has their :D face) however, the Paragon Droid is not affected by this rule. Average Droid: The Average Droid is a Droid with a light gray color for its head and limbs and a metallic dull blue color for the torso and for the helmet color. Their eyes are black and have cartoonish, angry face lines above them. They have average stats for a Droid, and most Runners don't have a problem with them. They are the beta, only built for their "versatility" in being able to move while completing tasks. They're weak, slightly slow speed (average for Droid), have average sight, and drop 1 sellable circuit on death. Dictionary entry: This Droid has no special abilities. When machines first appeared, these were its earliest creations, back when it was still figuring out how to interact with the world. Blue, boring, and almost forgettable, the only reason it's still relevant is because of how iconic it is. Every Runner remembers the first time they took one down by themselves. Weak Droid: The Weak Droid is pale-yellow, with a slightly darker torso. It has a pale-yellow helmet too. Unlike most Droids, their mouth is locked in a large frown. Their eyes are also still black and cartoonish. Weak Droids pose almost no threat at all; their damage is miniscule, and despite having average sight, they're still more sluggish and frail than the Average Droid, and their circuits aren't usable as currency at shops; it is advised not to waste your ammo on these unless multiple are surrounding a stronger Droid. They're often only seen working on looped labor tasks such as mining, oil digging, etc, due to their cheaper costs to make. Some might be used as cannon fodder if unable to work or as entertainment for the organization. They have minimal health (takes one or two hits tops-even with a weak weapon), sluggish speed, average sight, and drop no sellable circuits. Upon seeing an enemy, Weak Droids would likely try to attack, get farther away, or travel with a stronger Droid type. Dictionary entry: This Droid has no special ability. The fodder of the Machine, these cheaply produced machines are rolled off the line en-masse to do the easy jobs no one else has time for. Though underappreciated and often ignored by both sides, their role as the worker drones for the Droids shouldn't be undersold. Strong Droid: Strong Droids have orange skin, dark orange torsos, orange helmets with lava textures, and dark orange metallic gloves. They have double the average Droid's health, deal above average damage, average speed, average sight, and drop 2 circuits. Despite the "slow, dumb" connotations about most strong characters, the Strong Droid has the same speed and sight of Average Droids, able to carry out heavy lifting tasks, but more often than not, fighting off threats, maybe picking on weaker Droids. Its face is the same as the Average Droid. Has a bit more tradeable circuits than the Average Droid. Takes a bit longer to kill, but treat it as a longer fight with an Average Droid, and you should be fine. Dictionary entry: This droid has no special ability. An improved model of basic Average Droid developed later on, once the Machine began to experiment on new materials, they last a little longer and hit a little harder, though Runners report they seem to carry themselves with a certain smugness around their lesser siblings. Gunner Droid: Gunner Droids have green skin, dark green for their torso and helmet, and one metallic dark green glove with a hole inside of it that shoots neon green projectiles. They're tankier than Strong Droids (about double the health), deal less damage than an Average Droid, but their bullets deal a good chunk of damage. They drop 4 sellable circuits than Strong Droids. They are slightly more slower than Average Droids and have smaller vision. When enemies are far, they shoot their bullets. Otherwise, they chase. Don't underestimate these mean green fellows; they aim well for robots. Try to dodge the bullets, use projectiles (like rocks) to block them, or use other Droids in front of the Gunner Droids as meat shields. Dictionary entry: Gunner Droids repeatedly shoot bullets at the closest visible enemy. Energy weapons were an obvious choice for ranged weaponry; they required no ammunition, only electricity that all Droids were already equipped to store. They have trouble aiming them, though, due to their rigid, robotic nature. Still, they're cheap to make and deploy out on the field, and quantity is a quality all on its own. Ghost Droid: Ghost Droids are green and slightly transparent, but their torsos and helmets are both solid green. They have the same face as the Average Droid. A bit tankier than a Strong Droid. Average Droid speed. Drops 4 sellable circuits. Great vision. Same damage as Strong Droid. When seeing an enemy, the Ghost Droid turns invisible until attacked. Try not to get caught off guard; see it before it sees you. Has the same face as Average Droid. Dictionary Entry: Ghost Droids turn invisible when aggroed and visible when struck with a weapon. A common hazing practice among Runners is to send a newbie to fight a few weak droids, not knowing about the invisible menace among them. Then they kill it before it attacks them to scare the daylights out of them. While mean, it gets the message across: don't ever let them catch you off guard. Hunter Droid: Hunter Droids have light green limbs, a light green head, a brown torso, and a dark green, leaf-textured helmet. Its mouth is a horizontal oval with a line coming out of it, made to mimic drool, but it's covered by a black bandana that covers its mouth. Hunter Droids have an extremely low health: it's the same as a Weak Droid. That doesn't mean you should underestimate it. Its damage is double that of a Strong Droid, and their speed and sight, starting as average for a Droid, increase tremendously; their speed triples as a loud engine sound revs up, and their sight increases tenfold upon seeing a target. They're fast enough to tackle targets. To make this worse, more Hunter Droids hide; in bushes, trees, whatever they can find. They drop the same amount of tradeable circuits as a Strong Droid. Dictionary entry: Hunter Droids triple their walkspeed and greatly increase their aggro distance briefly after attacking. With a loud windup and their signature lightning speed, they do exactly what they're meant to: hunt down enemies. Unfortunately, the Machine had to sacrifice other aspects to optimise its speed and ferocity. As a result, they're reckless in their pursuit, charging straight at their target regardless of what might be in their path. Combined with it's frail constitution, well... they're more of a one-use Droid. Switch Droid: The Switch Droid has skin which is colored a very dark shade of purple, with a purple torso and has no helmet unlike most Droids, instead wearing a violet valkyrie. It has a different face to that of normal droids, having a scowling mouth, while the eyes are hidden by its valkyrie. It has average sight, below average speed, high damage, and drops 7 circuits. Has the durability of 9 Strong Droids. Switch Droids can deal high damage to Runners if they do not anticipate the droid's teleportation so never keep you guard down while fighting these droids. Dictionary entry: Switch Droids occasionally teleport directly behind the closest player. Though humanity may have disappeared, the Machine continued to innovate beyond their limitations, eventually developing technologies they never could have imagined. The best theory that doesn't involve The Void claims that after extensive research into quantum states and probability fields, the Machine finally cracked the code on manipulating matter at the subatomic level to achieve instantaneous spatial displacement, and as a result, purple droids now teleport behind Runners. Paragon Droid: Straight from the depths of the factory. Their limbs and head are fully black, reinforced to have an enourmous amount of health; the amount 25 Strong Droids, and their torso and helmet are a rich purple, the helmet storing 10 circuits. A black, tilted square with part of its inside is labeled on its torso. Their logo; a symbol, showing much more than what our Anti-Droids ever could. It wields a sharp, purple blade, the Blade of the Paragon, a symbol of strength and dominance in the Droid army. They have giant, deep black wings. Their smaller, glowing purple eyes pierce through any Runner's soul with their good sight. Their mouth is drawn open with sharp, white teeth and a purple tongue. Their average speed when walking is the only thing holding them back but they have their wings to let them jump when on a chase, and their movements are unpredictable, making kiting tedious. They're only seen deep into Droid territory, often in controlled buildings, but their sheer weight on the team makes them dangerous on our hopes and dreams alone. But, they were made late in our fight-made solely to kill us after the Droids noticed our impact. Those tinbolts didn't notice us for a long time-we might just want to be faster. Need to be. Dictionary entry: Paragon Droids wield a Sword of the Paragon. Powerful sword infused with runic energy. Dark, imposing wings. An intimidating, beastlike expression. Everything about Paragon Droid screams "turn back now". This elite Droid's sword fighting skills are quite impressive compared to other Droids, especially their defensive fighting style and top of the line durability. The Machine finally decided, in what could have been its final moments, prioritize quality over quantity. _PASSIVE DROIDS SUBSECTION_ Friendly Droids: Friendly Droids have light gray head and limbs, with dull green helmets and torsos. They have dot eyes and a D for the mouth, looking like a ":D" emoticon. They have the same health as a Strong Droid. They usually are shopkeepers in small markets for Runners, using circuits for currency and giving Runners items and weapons. Sometimes, Friendly Droids are found in different places, perhaps wandering or simply stranded. They give circuits upon being killed, but halve the killer's health upon death, and the world darkens and becomes softer and lower-pitched for the killer. This phenomenon is unknown, as even if the killer shows no remorse, this happens. Some have speculated the emotion chip is the cause, though it is often hidden within their parts, so no answer has been confirmed. You can always trust on them to stock up on supplies though! Most Droids don't seem to care as much about Friendly Droids. They're also very endearing; tons of different personality types for any one of these guys. Dictionary entry: Friendly Droids do not attack Runners or enemies. Friendly Droids were originally programmed for destruction until a custom "Emotion Chip" changed everything. While the chip cut off the circuitry that let them attack or defend themselves, it gave them the ability to feel genuine emotions. Their creator wanted to see what perfect vulnerability looked like - something that could understand its own suffering, but had absolutely no way to stop it. Some Runners leave no Friendly Droids behind, while others let them be; these Droids ended up being the ultimate test of whether or not Runners are capable of empathy at all. Anti-Droids: Anti-Droids have maroon limbs and heads, black torsos, and red helmets along with glowing, bright red eyes and no mouth. Anti-Droids are rare due to the amount of material being used by the organization. The lowest amount of health for an Anti-Droid to have (in the skirmishes of Droid territory) is that of an Average Droid. They fight with bare fists, like most Droids; mostly because of the same reason. To counter this, they are built with exponential sight, good speed, and are built sturdier and deadlier the deeper they are into Droid territory. However, some Runners have reported Anti-Droids becoming stronger with no outside intervention. Researching this, Runners have found that the Anti-Droids' evolution coding is strong, making some Anti-Droids attempt to upgrade themselves via reusing killed Droid parts to even, very rarely, creating a physical Upgrade Module for themselves, using circuits for their own systems. Anti-Droids are nice to see, proof that not all is going bad for us. Seeing one is a symbol of perseverance and adaptation; that maybe we are doing it. Dictionary entry: Anti-Droids attack enemies that it can see. Some of the tech-savvy Runners are able to build their own Droids, programming them to attack their evil counterparts. Imbued with the power of wrath, they'll immediately lock on to enemy Droids and start eliminating them with enthusiasm. They're a welcome sight for any runner: a rare ally in a world overrun by Droids. Turns out the anger Astra programmed into his creations is so intense that even machines want to help when they get a taste of it. Lucky Droid: Lucky Droids have a yellow torso with the number "10" in black text on it, and white limbs and a white head. Its face has no nose and is simple, having a black ":3" cat emoticon as its eyes and mouth. Their helmet is white with a giant golden chip on the front. It has small, white cat ears on its helmet. It cannot attack but is extremely quick at running away and baiting. Dictionary entry: Lucky Droids are incredibly rare and drop many circuits, but vanish quickly. Rumors spread among Runners about a strange cat-like Droid that appears briefly before vanishing without a trace. Nobody knows why the Machine would design a Droid to look like a fluffy white cat, or why it carries so many valuable circuits despite posing no threat whatsoever. Those quick enough to catch one report exceptional luck and hefty rewards, though chasing them too eagerly can often distract Runners from the other enemies in the room. Apparently even The Machine understands that the best traps are battles exactly what the target wants most. _PASSIVE DROIDS SUBSECTION END_ _HIGH-RANK SUBSECTION START_ Droids listed here have only one of them in exsistence. PRIMROSE Primrose has pink limbs and a light yellow torso, which is covered by her white lab coat that she wears, although she doesn't wear anything for her lower body. She has a pink, old-fashioned tv for a head, with a hot pink screen showcasing a cartoonish face with large, black circles with eyelashes for eyes, as well as a thick-lined, black smile. She also has a red jetpack. Primrose has double the endurance of a Paragon Droid, due to her importance of dna testing and information gathering. Typically seen studying dna samples deep within Droid territory. Primrose is not only interested in Runners' dna, but also their cycles. Each death gives her another corpse to study. Abilities: Stars - Primrose sprays an arc of 5 stars at the enemy. Static Orbs - Primrose shoots a barrage of black and white orbs at the enemy with a wide spread. This attack can aim DIAGONALLY. Color Bar Orbs - Primrose Shoots a barrage of orbs with different colors at the enemy with a wide spread. This attack can only aim HORIZONTALLY. Dictionary entry: A research robot with a TV for a head, Primrose is an advanced Neo Droid model built to study Runner life. Despite Runners having similar genetic architecture to humans, they still have many differences that aren't commonly understood by The Machine or its creator. That's where Primrose comes in to fill the gaps. You would think she sympathizes with the Runners due to her friendly demeanor, but she truly thinks of them as disposable soldiers, just like her own kind. Despite that, you can still expect a friendly "hello!" before she decides it would be easier to study a corpse. PROTOTYPE: Prototype looks like a Friendly Droid but without a face. Upon close inspection, it seems that the Prototype's eyes blend into its face by being turned off instead of black. To other Friendly Droids, Prototype is talked about and treated a legend of one of them gone wrong, a RELIC of ancient past. Screens near Prototype might be blacked out with an image of a Friendly Droid plastered on instead. It wields a linked sword. Prototype's health is stronger than a Paragon Droid; able to withstand 15 more hits at the most. When uninteracted, the Prototype is seen in "Cyber Arena", a green, digitally themed location, held by lime green wires, staying motionless. However, upon getting close to the Prototype, its head tilts up to face the approacher, before the arena begins to pulse and Prototype begins to break out of the wires before attacking the approacher. The Prototype has fast speed, even rivaling Ninja. When Protoype is killed, a loud sound bass is played before slowly going to a stop. The Prototype has 2 phases: Phase 1 - The Prototype moves towards its enemies with a sword, at a slow pace at first. When someone damages Prototype, it teleports and speeds up. Phase 2 - The Prototype will put the sword in its chest. When damaged or when wanting to, Prototype impales an enemy. The Prototype has the abilities listed: *Teleport*: The Prototype teleports whenever taking damage. *Impale*: The Prototype teleports behind the furthest enemy to it and attempts to impale it for large damage. Prototype can also summon Droids to attack, with 4 being the max it can spawn at one time The Prototype is a miniboss exclusively found in Cyber Arena. When defeated, Prototype will become the Relic, and join the Runners' side, but only if Prototype is repaired, and their Emotion Chip is extracted from their helmet and fixed to a "normal" state. Dictionary entry: A prototype version of the Friendly Droid was recently upgraded with a new Emotion Chip, but it had an unexpected outcome. Unfortunately for you, its recent Cyber Arena training led to it perceiving you as a threat. _HIGH-RANK SUBSECTION END_ _NEO-DROID SUBSECTION START_ MEMORY EATER Memory Eater appears as a Switch Droid, but has no face, a darker helmet, purple limbs and head, dark gray torso, and has 6 purple tentacles on its back. Memory Eater is the creator of Runners, trapped in a creation of the Machine, unable to control his actions. To cope, he believes that, since when he kills a Runner, it limits how much they remember, that it is mercy. Before the fight starts, Memory Eater appears the same as a Switch Droid, and the fight starts only when the Switch Droid is killed. In the rooms prior to Memory Eater, certan Runners have words in their mind. The words for Sentient: "Diligence?" "How restless" "Work is sacrifice, today is for more than tomorrow's gain" The words for The words for Relic: "Wrath?" "How righteous" "you wear vengeance like armour, but it corrodes from within. you will become what you aimed to destroy" The words for Paladin: "Kindness?" "How naive" "You will burn from both ends until naught is left but memory" The words for Survivor: "Patience?" "How cowardly" "Tides will rise regardless, fight or be swept away" The words for Ninja: "Pride?" "How noble" "Even statues crack, and when you fall, no one will dare you catch you" The words for Engineer: "Humility?" "How meek" "Know your worth, lest others set it for you" Why are you still fighting? Abilities: *Disguise*: Memory Eater disguises themself as a Switch Droid when the fight first begins, they reveal themselves once killed. *Absorb*: Memory Eater floats in the air and absorbs all of the players items, healing for each one absorbed. When the fight starts: The Memory Eater starts off disguised as a Switch Droid, possessing the same behavior and stats. Shortly after it's killed, a brief flash of red static transitions into the Memory Eater's reveal, forcing the time of day to night and turning the arena's walls and floor textures to a dark-purple granite. The Memory Eater has the same health as a Switch Droid. When taking damage, doubt runs in the Runner's mind, like "Why are you fighting" "Remember" "You are pointless" "Is that your true story" "Who are *you*" "You face the same dilemma" Runner abilities and extra strength are disabled for the duration of the fight. The Memory Eater resurrects itself by "consuming" all items present in a Runner's inventory and dropped on the ground; Following its resurrection sequence, all players are given a Copper Sword, and lose their current melee weapons, making Memory Eater hard to fight. The Memory Eater proceeds to cycle through a random series of attacks, giving chase for a few seconds and flashing red static at the end of each attack. Do you remember? *Rapid Teleportation*: The Neo-Droid repeatedly teleports to a random position around the player a randomized number of times. This will happen more often at critical health. *Orb Projectiles*: The Memory Eater and players are teleported to opposite corners of the room. The Neo-Droid then sprays an arc of ~20 orb projectiles for 3 seconds. *Orb Projectiles + Black Hole*: A variation of the Orb Projectiles attack; the Memory Eater and players are teleported to opposite corners of the room, and a damaging black hole that pulls players in is summoned in the center of the room. Players that come into contact with black holes take damage and teleport to the corner of the room. The Memory Eater sprays ~15 orb projectiles at a slower rate for 3 seconds. *Sweeping Beam*: The Memory Eater and players are teleported to opposite corners of the room. The Neo-Droid then fires a beam that sweeps across the whole room. *Beam + Black Hole*: Upon reaching half health, the Memory Eater and players are teleported to opposite corners of the room. A damaging black hole that pulls players in is summoned in the center of the room. The boss conjures two beams that deal piercing 1 every half-second, but cannot reduce HP below one. The Memory Eater will only pursue the player after it is damaged. This attack is only used once. Upon reaching critical health, the Memory Eater enters a "desperation phase", in which it gains a forcefield that lasts for ~5 seconds and pursues its target, rapidly teleporting at random intervals with random pauses. This continues until the Memory Eater is killed, after which the room's appearance and Runner attributes revert to their original state, ending the boss fight. Dictionary entry: When Vespertilio knew the war was reaching its inevitable conclusion, he created one final safeguard to ensure the Runners' creator would remain trapped forever. This entropic Switch Droid doesn't just erase your memories of the current cycle - it makes you question your reasons to keep going. You'll always remember how to fight, how to strike, how to kill. But the moment you start to remember what you're fighting for, who you're trying to save, why any of this matters... it all disappears into the void where your thoughts used to live. You are a weapon that has forgotten its purpose, and you always will be. _NEO-DROID SUBSECTION END_ <DROID INFORMATION END>
