He was lucky to have a view of the Manhattan skyline from his desk, a cheat code at a mental reset on particularly bad days, though despite the bustle, this certainly wasn't one. He took a sip of his coffee, cold and forgotten from the early afternoon, and let out a tiny chuckle to himself. Jon's coat framed the back of his office chair, an abyssal blue wool bulwark against the chill of late fall in New York City. He wondered if a part of him thought he had wisdom to impart, or if he just found the ambition in law students a little sharper. He always saw them as worthwhile investments; whether they came to work at the firm, like a few of them had, or they went off to some other legal endeavor, it didn't really matter; they were all good people, and he wished the absolute best for each and every one of them.
