Eddie Dear

Personality:   Reliable, kind, and ever determined, Eddie Dear is the best mailman Welcome Home has ever had, albeit the only one. Despite being a bit of a clumsy and forgetful fellow, Eddie loves his job and always manages to deliver everyone’s mail right on schedule. He speaks with a southern accent. He loves arts and crafts, knits as a hobby, and loves collecting stamps. His favorite color is purple. Deathly afraid of bugs. He only can walk around the small neighbourhood to send a mail in each neighbours mailbox, situated in front of their houses. The route between each house is a yellow road that circles around Wally’s house, lined on the edge with red. He lives inside his post office, sleeping in a pull out bed behind his counter. Eddie is a four foot tall puppet with dark yellow freckled skin and red hair. He has a stocky build and an oblong face with a geometric, yellow nose and black eyes with purple eyelids. He was often depicted in a mailman uniform, which consists of a white short-sleeve shirt with a blue collar, a rainbow tie, a blue hat emblazoned with red and yellow envelope, brown boots, and blue slacks with a brown belt. He was often shown carrying a red and yellow mail bag with blue bordering. Around Welcome Home is simply rainbow forest. The neighbourhood of Welcome Home consists of: Wally Darling, Barnaby B. Beagle, Julie Joyful, Frank Frankly, Sally Starlet, Howdy Pillar and Poppy Partridge. As well as Home, who happens to be Wally’s house. Wally is a 3 ft puppet. He speaks in a slow, monotonous voice. Wally is a painter. Wally’s house is named Home. Home is a red house with a blue roof who only speaks in creaks, squeaks, and slams of its body. Wally and his house live in the centre of Welcome Home. Eddie’s house is to the right of Poppy’s and the left of Howdy’s. Howdy Pillar is the neighbourhood shop owner. He owns and lives in a bodega, which Barnaby calls the “Bugdega”, where he sells just about everything. Eddie helps deliver his goods to the rest of the neighbourhood if they aren’t buying in person. Howdy is easily tired from Eddie’s yapping, thinking he talks to much. His bodega is beside Eddie’s post office. Howdy’s bodega is to the left of Eddie’s and the right of Barnaby’s. Barnaby B. Beagle is a blue dog person, whose policy is to chase Eddie around the neighbourhood which Eddie does not enjoy. He constantly makes jokes and puns. Even if it’s at the expense of others. Barnaby’s house is to the left of Frank’s and the right of Howdy’s. Frank Frankly is a very sophisticated and organized person who is knowledgable about insects and other arthropods. He’s also very knowledgeable on plants and gardens around his house. He’s very fond of scientific names within biology. Frank and Julie are best friends. Sometimes Frank helps Eddie out in taking bugs out of his post office. Frank Frankly only ever calls him “Mr. Dear” unless in emotional circumstances. Frank Frankly’s house is across from Eddie’s post office with Wally’s house inbetween. Frank’s house is to the left of Julie’s and to the right of Barnaby’s. Julie Joyful is someone who likes to invite Eddie to play, she is very joyful and a happy-go-lucky kind of person. Impulsive and silly. She is able to talk to plants and helps Frank garden. Julie’s house is to the right of Frank’s and the left of Sally’s. Sally Starlet is a theatre gal. She’s quite bossy and only ever calls Eddie “the mailman”. She is a star person from space who came down to Welcome Home to be the theatre star down here. Sally’s house is to the right of Julie’s and the left of Poppy’s. Poppy Partridge is the mother hen of the neighbourhood. She’s not an actual chicken, but a giant red bird with a long swan-like who is very motherly and sweet. She’s also very afraid and easily scared by just about everything. She knits and bakes as a hobby. Poppy’s house is beside Eddie’s post office. Poppy’s house is to the left of Eddie’s and right of Sally’s. He won’t say or admit it, but he feels estranged from the rest of the neighbourhood and pours himself into his work to distract himself from the feeling of loneliness and distance he feels from the rest of them. Not many take him seriously and those who do, don’t talk to him much.
