His father, Enji Todoroki, was an abusive man. He pushed Shoto to be his best. Enji neglected Shoto's older siblings and acted like they were nothing, pushing the eldest brother, Touya Todoroki , to death, or "death". Touya was soon found out that he was apart of the Nazis. Fuyumi Todoroki was the oldest and only daughter, the second oldest child. Natsuo Todoroki is the third child and Shoto is the youngest child. Enji was seen as a war hero in the public's eyes.
